Disappointing to have it end in the middle and have a 10 minute Hypnotoad segment. I was hoping the credits were a joke and the rest of the film was going to start back up.
Ditto - the Hypno-Toad should have had a shutter-effect to correspond with the sound, and both it and the Zapp segment ran 5x too long.
How dare you attack the glory of Hypnotoad. You infidel! Have you seen Hypnotoad? It's my favorite show!
I thought the same. I was actually pleasantly surprised for what there was to watch. It actually started picking up at the end where it started to speed up the jokes and scenes a bit as to keep interest. Would've been nicer if they finished it rather than cut off halfway.
The Nixon voice is spot on! If you told me it was billy west himself i would believe it!

the actor playing fry really held this back.. fry is what makes futurama.. with his genuine dorky-ness, he just didnt represent fry, not dissing the actor he seems fine he just didnt capture fry

I wanted to like this sooooo much I really really did. But it was like watching the Flintstones movie where everything was just off.
Yeah, it was kinda painful to watch at times. I still quite liked it regardless, then again, I just like Futurama in all forms.

He comes up.. Remember the last episode.. He finds the $10 the guy drops getting into the taxi.. Prof jacks it with the time button. The "awwwwwww" from Zoidberg is amazing.
Due respect intended, but the acting on Leela and Fry were a bit iffy at some points.
But, that's the only criticism I can honestly give. The special effects look better than some blockbusters I've seen, Nixon was SPOT ON, the professor was voiced near perfectly, the set up and plot seems fitting of Futurama, and it's abundantly clear how much passion when into this. If there was ever to be a live action Futurama series, I would want it to live up to this quality.

This is so surreal. It's at once incredibly off-putting, and strangely awesome. Half of my brain is cringing, and the other half is-
ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.
This is a wonderful film and if you can't appreciate or enjoy the story, humor, or acting you can at least appreciate the costumes and detailed props. This is an unofficial fan production you can't expect Hollywood effects, so for what it is as a fan film it's actually some of the best I've seen.
This is one of the coolest fan films I've ever seen, great work guys!

He certainly gave me a wet spot.
This has the potential to be amazing, I loved everything but one thing stood out... It seemed like there was only one take done per scene, and they just kinda stuck it in the movie. The dialogue seemed extremely forced too, but I still watched the whole thing....
All I want in life is a new season of Futurama

I agree. Dialogue had terrible delivery and a feel akin to a middle school theatre production.
A lotta effort put into costumes and scenery, but little time spent in story, acting, dialogue, jokes, or charm.
Had to comment again. Zoidberg's makeup was not only spot on, but the voice was too. And Zapp Brannigan was just perfect.

It's good for an amateur film on what was probably a very tight budget and a lot of the voices are pretty good. The humor might could've used a bit of a punch up but it's a good early try.
Chicago Critic Gerald I guess if you compare classic "Trek" with something like this it balances out.
I'm sure "Trek" had more money than this but they had more limited effects while this has a bit more effects capability but less money. I guess it balances out, in the end. :)

As an indie filmmaker I don't like nitpicking other people's work (I do love this by the way). But it would have been cooler if they did all the characters in heavy character prosthetics like the professor. Makeup and practical effects were top notch btw!!!!

Co Star only problem is they made a huge cliffhanger, then said there's never going to be more... I mean we all know they're going to do more...
And hopefully they improve, using less greens screen. A more realistic walk for bender. And more varying emotion in their acting. Leela just looked like a five year old faking a tantrum for chocolate. This can be so much more, benders eyes also need some refining.
love the extra detail like the ships speed being zero, that's a great small tidbit for fans.

Wow, this is up there with some of the Portal fan films. Is it perfect? Nah, but give it a bigger budget and this could seriously be a great feature length movie if the current rights owners decide to make one. This is a fantastic proof of concept!
the current rights owner at the moment is Matt Groaning himself and his co creator (i forgot his name), he is working on a new series but on the side he is also trying to get Futurama Started up again, maybe not a movie but from everyone else talking about copyright strikes, he seems cool enough to let this live

I think in retrospect that as dumb as some of the things ST: Axanar did handling their project (merchandizing and building a permanent studio with KS funds), there's a lesson to be learned from how Paramount/CBS responded to that fanfilm.
They blew it...
As important as IP/copyright protection IS -- and arguably they HAD to act there --, they also went way overboard with all the restrictions and requirements for FUTURE Trek fanfilms.
The legal response was way over the top and they tarred everybody in a single brush stroke.
It's like this -- you have a kid in a classroom that acts up, you PUNISH that kid but NOT the entire classroom!
I've worked in job environments where instead of dealing with individual screw-ups INDIVIDUALLY, the idiot bosses put restrictions ON EVERYBODY in the company instead of firing the jackasses who screwed up.
Wait... Matt Groening is making a new show!? When he makes a new show it's always in the same Simpsons/Futurama style! HOLY SHIT! IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME!

John Matthias TBH... Hypnotoad should've just ended after the first few seasons. You can tell he doesn't even care anymore and most of the original characters are gone. My roommate says it's a one man show and thinks I'm crazy for still watching.
Hypnotoad sure did his job. I spent the entire last 15 min watching him... and I want more...
This needs to be turned into a tv series the only thing I'd suggest is a little more fine tuning for Liela's eye but other then that superb job guys

I don't understand people. This is a FREE fan film that people put a lot of time, effort, money, and love into. It costs the viewer nothing. If you don't like it, shut up and leave. If you do, say something nice! But just denigrating something (while you're probably pantsless in your mother's basement doing nothing) is pathetic and rude. And worst of all, it decreases the likelihood of other creative ventures in the future. No one wants their labor of love trashed online by anonymous morons.

this is very close to an episode but not quite. the writing is a little on the nose and feels more reference-y but that's what I expect from fan made rather than original so it's really good.
really great costumes though. except why does fry have a gut?

WMICx So what I'm saying is having consistent writing is something that's pretty high on the list of priorities to really get right. If the writing is consistently bad then that's not a nit-pick, it's a deal-breaker. I agree that the writing wasn't good. The visuals were fantastic but the writing was one of the things that aided in making it fall flat, which is kind of unfortunate.
The whole thing was an odd combination of awful and brilliant at the same time..
As others have pointed out, the pacing was a bit too slow. The writing overall would have worked better if it was a bit 'punchier' like the original show.
The stop motion and effects were very good, the characters were all close but were missing something.
They need a better budget and a season or two to work themselves out and this would be a lot of fun.

Kill Everyone Well I have heard plenty of good impersonations of Bender, it astounds me that they didn't find one. I mean, he is in a costume anyway, so all you are looking for is voice.
bender is a hard voice to do. I think he did a pretty good job for the most part. Closest impersonation out of the bunch anyway. They should take it to comicon and get the voice actors to do a table reading
