You remind me of Robert Irvine in a way (except, he's a Chef). Great review on the Elgrand. I'm really liking these Vans (this generation in particular).
Dual sliding doors are not specific to the XL model, the chrome door handle trims are aftermarket add ons. Ceiling monitors are factory options across the range. So are electric sliding curtains. Heated front seats is an option factory extra .The middle row captains seats are unique to the XL model but the ottoman leg rests are avaliable on later leather edition HWS as well. Most imported Elgrands have been altered in some way. So it's difficult to find standard models without owner additions or extra factory options present.
Thank God my USA got the 4th generation..... here in the USA, it's called Nissan Quest.....the last year sold was 2017..... this van is spacious and airy inside.... the top trim is luxurious
Another great video thanks. Just a small question. I need to get rid of my transit van and my car because I havet the dreaded ULEz charges coming in my city and I was thinking an e51 class or Rider as a good alternative. as it could double up as a van and a car at the same time. My question. Do you think with the seats all folded down I could fit a sheet of standard 8 x 4 ply wood in the back. Maybe on top of or between the seats.? any advice you can give would be great. Simon
Nice to see so many import that and for daily driving. 👍 Not just in the UK. They´re everywhere. Not in Germany. Only German cars mostly. 😴 Well the Highway Star could have harder dampers maybe? Dunno but the Autech versions often have a more sportier dampers. Would be nice to see how the Autech VIP versions drive. But probably you´ll never get one of these. 😁
@@autofanatica944 Its a option.. everything is a option,, I have seen 7 seater V base model with leather seats . I have seen VG with sunroofs , Just because its got 7 seats and in leather that dont make it a XL...
Good MPG is not something Elgrands are known for. Between 20 - 25 seems to be what to expect depending on how gently you drive it. A good indicator of how often breakdowns occur is to ask the owners club. Just ask the TVP community! But jokes aside, the Elgrand owners club were friendly and helpful when I reached out for more info to help on the Elgrand videos and were supportive of my review videos. I'd highly recommend having a chat with some of the members.
Hi your so called XL key is same as my HWS (2005) , chrome door handles are a stick on fitment, if you dont like then , pop them off ..Curtains are a option on all E51's . Put vans chassis number into this web site and it will tell you its build spec nissan.epc-data.com/ . No two Elgrands are the same .
They're not known for fuel economy, there's no doubt about that. One of the major problems is the lack of support when problems do occur. It's not like the local Nissan dealer knows much about them. I wanted to do a history video on the Elgrands and really struggled to find any info on them whatsoever. The Elgrand owner community is really friendly and helpful though so that's always a plus.
Yeah, I can understand what you mean about the fuel! A Remap can definitely help. Not so sure I would side with you on the price though based on the cost of Euro 7 and 8 seaters based on quality, condition and mileage but I understand Elgrands are not for everyone.
I have an XL and they come with all the standard badging. There is no Nismo badge on an XL., nor is the Grill usually black.

My HWS has cabin middle row, ,they all do .and both doors on remote (its a option). it's the headrest and foot part that differs

I've got one, they are great cars, good review
I like the Elgrands. Shame I can't get access to an Alphard yet to do a comparison, they are pretty thin on the ground up here.
What is the mpg and can you get parts easy

which model type come with sun roofs ? also how do you like having non sun roofs vs one with? cheers
My E50 had the double sunroof but I think it was an option on lower models as I've seen some base models with it and some without.

What is the real mpg? Are good , or are breaking quite often? Any advice?

I had one of those for 4 years, biggest money pit I ever had, don’t even mention the fuel economy!

Isn't that an issue for most imports though. I've currently got a crown athlete vx and it hasn't needed anything I haven't been able to get
Looks cheap in black chrome kills it now in the 2005+ models
i think their overpriced! and fuel cost ouch!
