My god - how well that came out! Hey, can you recommend a starter tool set or the best but economical way for me to get going on leather work? Anyone’s recommendations would really be appreciated - thanks! 👍
Closed cell foam works best for confirming the leather when in a press like that. Also those snaps will fail over a short time as the weight will cause it to fail I would have put 2 more snaps to distribute the weight evenly over the belt loop otherwise you could try a different system. I’m not sure but snaps have a certain weight limit that you would need to test before applying... I’ve lost some knives do to this reason they were heavy knives and the snaps gave way. I had to add more and found out the hard way.
You're killing me dyeing and cutting right on your wood bench top.
😳😳😳
It does make a mess sometimes but let's say it gives it character. Lol.
Nice! I always end up grabbing the pliers when I'm stitching too.
I switched to a bit smaller needle and that helped quite a bit, but I still need the pliers from time to time.
Detailed enough to follow what you’re doing, yet vague enough to transcribe to your own project. Awesome teaching!
Nice work. Quite inspiring.
Excellent leather making video!
Another great "duty purpose" specialty pouch. You are on your game, brother. Very well made.

beautiful job my friend 👍👍💯👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Giovanni.
Great job. Great tutorial.
I've found that a stitching awl and also a tapered, blunt point awl really helps with easing the stitching holes.
Nice stuff. I just started getting into leatherworking as well and it really makes a great compliment to woodworking!
Thats cool. Its super fun to learn and develop new skills. I just started a new leather project myself.
