- Instant Pot Chili With Dry Beans: Start by browning a pound of meat (we used turkey sausage for this video, but you could use ground beef, spicy sausage, ground chicken, whatever you like) for about three minutes in the Instant Pot on Saute mode. If meat is very lean, add a bit of olive oil. Add one chopped onion, two diced garlic cloves, one chopped green pepper, one chopped jalapeno pepper (or if you like good & spicy, add two of these). Be sure to use cooking gloves when chopping spicy peppers. Continue to saute for about five minutes. Stir everything up, then add two cups broth, two 14.5 ounce cans diced tomatoes, a cup of beer and 1/2 pound of dried pinto beans that you've soaked for at least four hours. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons chili powder (depending on your spice tolerance) and a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Put the lid on the Instant Pot, turn the switch at the top to Sealing and then hit Manual or High Pressure and set timer for 35 minutes. Use a natural release for 10 minutes, then release remaining pressure. If the beans are not fully cooked (they should be, but just in case...) pop the lid back on and pressure cook for an additional 7-10 minutes. Serve with hot sauce, red pepper flakes, avocado, grated cheddar and a bit of cilantro. We like to have this over rice. ENJOY.

Thank you. This is my first time using my new Instant Pot. I didn't use the exact same ingredients (celery instead of pepper, more onions, taco seasoning, ground turkey), but I truly appreciate the step by step tutorial how to cook dried beans with other ingredients, without multiple steps. At first I was only finding recipes that wanted me to fully cook dried beans, then cook everything else then combine two separate meals, essentially. I thought, "What's the point of buying an Instant Pot if it takes more work than my slow cooker?" But thank you, Theresa. This was excellent.
Best instant pot video for sure . Strait to the point
Pampered Chef has a great ground meat tool to chop up the meat smaller while cooking. It is one kitchen helper all should have.
I have been making this for almost 2 years now and it is my die hard, tried and true, recipe for the ages.
Amazing recipe
Kick it up a notch and cook all spices in with meat. A chef taught me this.
Eye on art Will do!
Thanks! Your info helped me lots!
Delicious! This chili is perfect not too hot, the perfect amount of spices. Impressive!
Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos!!! I’m just learning to cook and these are so incredibly helpful and you are such an AMAZING teacher!!!!!! Also you reminds me of my grandma;) love ya and hope you have a wonderful day every single day!!!!!!!!!
kat lyu Wow! You just made my day! Thanks so much for those kind words and enjoy your cooking! Preparing good food is fun, usually easy and so rewarding! Have a beautiful day!
I don't use dry beans all that often so I always forget how long to soak them for. Thank you.
It looks good. Unfortunately you are missing the natural sweetness of your onions and the pepper. If you would at the beginning just add 2 tb spoon of olive oi ora y oil you have off hands it ok. Heat the œil until you hear a drop of water sizle in it, then add your onions, pepper, garlic, ginger (any of those you intendof adding to your recepy that's fine) You fry those until they get translutant (shiny, they deliberate all there flavor then. After browsing those, go ehead with the meat etc for the time suggested here. Mrs. Johnson thank you for taking the time showing us what option and time you use with the 8qrt Instant Pot. There are too many people out here on Facebook showing recepies but not many taking time to show how to use the instant pot properly 😉
Also smash some beans on side of pot to thicken sauce.
Eye on art great suggestions! Thank you!
Great video and very helpful! Thank you.
Looking forward to making this
Thank you for the great video. Love your kitchen too. Am making this today!
Looks so good! Yummy!!🤤
Thanks. Wasn’t sure if I could just put in my soaked beans or needed to precook.
I love this video so much! The instant pot seems intimidating, but this makes me feel much more confident about it.
Peter Pan I am so glad! You will love your Instant Pot more every time you use it!
Now this is chili!! Try it with stewed tomatoes and chunks of steak it's so good!!
Yay! Glad you liked it! We’re having a cold snap here- I’m feeling like making this again as you suggest!
I'm gonna make a dry bean recipe with beans I've soaked for four hours.
She literally said if you don't soak them just cook them a little bit longer.
You don't have to soak your beans if your making them in the Instant pot
@@garrick7076 I must have been watching this from work and running it in the background and missed it as I likely had to actually, well, focus and work. LOL.
Great video. What would happen if you were to use all beer and no broth?
Tracy Burney Try it! It would work, I bet!
Hello! This looks really good, I think that I'll have to make this for my family. How long do you cook it if you don't presoak the beans?
I would add 30 minutes for unsoaked beans, or a total cook time of one hour. Enjoy!
I did your recipe and hoping it comes out great. I added a tablespoon of Pepperoncini juice like in the copycat Wendy's chili.
I am sure it will be delicious. Enjoy!
IF YOU PUT EVERYTHING IN THE INSTANT POT FROM THE GET-GO WOULD THE MEAT BROWN???? JUST WONDERING
No, it won't "brown"...it will cook and be ok though...thes... hamburger becomes tiny bits.
WHY ARE WE YELLING
Where did you get your gloves?
You can buy disposable cooking gloves at the grocery store. Or here’s a link to order online: amzn.to/2sujTYl. Thanks for watching!
i fucking love you for this, but how do you reduce the liquid to make it thickerrrrrr?
Hit the sauté button when everything is finished cooking and let it cook for a bit longer if you want to cook down the liquid a bit. Don’t add less liquid when you cook - or you could wind up with the dreaded “BURN” notice.
@@Tessknadler hahaha thank you!!! I'll be starting my instant pot journey very soon :)
Cold soak or boilibg water soaked beans?
Mr Wolf Cold soak for four hours or more
Any danger of soaking over night?
Overnight soaking works great
Ok you advertise dry beans but then tell us to soak them for 4 hours
Renee DaSinger Dry beans as opposed to canned beans. You don’t have to soak the beans. I did, but you don’t have to- just cook a little longer if you don’t soak the beans.
Theresa Johnson ohh ok thanks for the clarification. I’m making this right now using your recipe as a foundation and adding 13 bean soup mix I had in a bag. I soaked for 30 minutes .
Never tried chili with these beans it may be horrible but my husband will still eat it lol
Thanks !
Renee DaSinger it’ll be great. I love that 13-bean mix!
Theresa Johnson oh my goodness girl! The chili came out amazing, the beans I had to cook a little longer I did get a food burn notice (despite adding more liquid) but I quickly lifted the pot to save most of the chili lol... the Worcestershire sauce is such a great idea too!
I added everything you did but a couple mild jalapeños and a bit more chili powder. My husband is in Heaven!
Thank you so much.. I’m subscribing for sure
Renee DaSinger this makes me very happy!!
