This chart and performance is further proof that this bone section (Mattis and the bass player are masterfully holding down the foundation as always) is one of my favorite on the planet...and there are obviously killer players in every chair in the band! First time I heard Mr. Mossman he was THE trumpet player and music director of a group of young lions (at that time - 80s) and he was something else, playing along the likes of Ralph Bowen, Henry Pickens, the always loud Ralph Peterson, Robert Hurst and the great Kenny Garrett. It is such a pleasure to watch Mr. Mossman directing this fabulous, fabulous, fabulous WDR Big Ban Orchestra! Thank You! PS. I miss the splendid playing of Ms. Barnet!
