@Eriko. Oy Thanks for that mate, I'm new to meditation and kept overthinking and I thought I was doing it wrong because I kept trying to stop the thoughts but they just kept coming lol.
@Página do Alastor I've done many different kinds of meditation. I started with Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka, which is basically feeling the body from head to toe and back again. But it doesn't really matter which one you do, as long as you find something that works for you and you practice consistently.
Clearly, there is this is more of an introduction than a complete topic. My wish is that you would expand each of the areas you touched on herein and combine them into a solid body of work-- as opposed to a playlist with all the breaks. Your work is excellent. Your research is expansive. This piece seems more akin to the intro to an essay; and, leaves me wanting the finished work. (Which speaks to your polished writing abilities. Kudos.) Well done, young man! I'm 65 and you have me more active physically and mentally than I've been in my earlier "living"; I think. So let's see where this takes me. Thank you for this video, and all the others!
I took up meditation at the start of last year. I think it was a mix of this channel, Jaxblade's video and reading about some Buddhist teachings. The benefits have been real. I've been working to combine several forms of meditation and autosuggestion. these systems all complement and build on each other: -Mindfulness, relaxation - This has been the basis of all my practice. There's a bit of a learning curve. You have to stop stressing about interrupting thoughts or sensations, *watching* your thoughts and feelings, being an observer of them. Once the barriers are gone, this is extremely relaxing. Recommended as a start and for anyone having issues with their focus or emotional control. -Visual memory - Simply try creating images in your mind, or practice drawing something complex for whatever length of time you have set. You can add a creativity element by sketching out mandalas or freehand drawing whatever shapes come from the bottom of your mind, slowly morphing those shapes into things - as many professional illustrators have long done for inspiration. Focused activity - Go out for a walk or run. Try switching from the thought mode of rumination to deeply sensing your own movement patterns - exaggerate different aspects of your walking posture, swing, breathing, pace, rhythm, bounce, how you distribute pressure through your foot on the ground etc. If you listen to music on your run, get deep into it (but don't lose sensitivity to your surroundings!). For a few months my main meditation was to run a hilly trail and listen to psychedelic rock. Magic trickery - Use the previously mentioned subconscious drawing, or a mantra of words you don't understand to mean any specific thing. This practice exists to draw up thoughts and feelings from deep down, to get "outside of the lines". Induced stress - Do something highly demanding or stressful. Get into a state of focus, control or deep visualization under these conditions. Why? Total control of your own will under *any* circumstance. Odd sources of inspiration for some of these practices: Green Lantern - I wondered for a long time what their "willpower" actually meant in DC media. I did some sleuthing. then I found an interview with one of the writers, who summed it up something like this: The heart of the series is wild on-the-fly decisionmaking with lives at stake. The ring requires its user to intensely visualize a 3D object in his mind - and not break that mental image even when they're terrified by these life or death situations. In other words, Goku or whoever wouldn't get a ring just from having a strong will. It would be some rando with ironclad focus. Promare - the band Superfly stated in an interview that they included a mantra of made-up words in their song "Kakusei" as a pre-battle ritual. Credit for the focused walking techniques does to both martial arts/movement specialist Steve Morris, and the art of Baguazhang.

I meditate 1.5-2hrs/day on a self-constructed meditation program utilizing the headspace app. I usually do 2 guided meditation sessions (currently for creativity and kindness) and 3-4 unguided personal ones. I did this to aid me in martial arts, especially upon reading the Life-Giving Sword by samurai Yagyu Mumenori. Every word he has said here is true. What’s amazing is that he also mentioned mental math which is something I do daily as part of my martial arts training. Using speed math generators that pressure me to solve arithmetic problems in the triple digits has been instrumental in my development for martial arts and life in general.
I like to use bodyscan meditation to check my physical condition and focus on the areas that need recovery. Thanks for the video. As a martial artist with previous experience of competition I can relate to the power of meditation and visualisation. I would use meditation for practising kata if I was unable to do it physically. It made my performance so much better as I could not rely on muscle memory to go from one move to the next. I had to consciously think out each move. I'm sure it sounds silly to some people but it really was the case for me at least.
I have been using Dr. Joe DIspenzas science based meditation for personal transformation called "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" for several months now. I've found it deeply transformative to my sense of well being, and my self perception in regards to my potential
The only problem I have with meditation is that sometimes, my medittions are great, and sometimes, I cannot focus for the life of me. My next meditation goal is to sustain consistent focus over multiple sittings.
That's normal, though, it's like those times when you're doing your workout and you feel like you can do reps forever, but the next day you struggle to do mere 10 reps lol You just gotta give it your best in that specific session and not judge yourself, plus keep being consistent with your practice.

Agree with everyone, I don't know why these videos don't boast millions of views. I have been interested in meditation for many years and am already learning lots from this one video. Good job!
So underrated content, channel, philosophy. I really appreciate your take on bettering themselves. I also really come to like a northern way of meditation, it's called Utiseta and literally means "sitting outside". You do just that, sit down and do nothing else. If possible do it in rhe nature, leave all thoughts pass by as they come, and let your mind wander around. Become aware of your body, your place, your surroundings, the sounds and smells and how the ground feels.. it's quite the opposite to the eastern way of meditation - forget your surroundings and focus on your self - but the effects are fascinating. Not only it calmes the mind like nothing else I tried, but also it kinda reconnects the practitioner with the nature, with his place in the world and with himself. It helps to see yourself like you see the things around you - neutral but compassionate, interested but untouched. It happened tp me that I saw my life unfold in front of my inner eye. Like if I thougt of a plant growing from a tiny seed to a mighty tree becoming old, I say myself aging from toddler to boy to the man I am. Because at the end of the day, we are just that: aging beings, constantly transforming on our path into the future. And we have a big take in choosing the direction we're going.
What an excellent video. Meditation is still so under used in modern society even though its been around for thousands of years. Quieting the mind will be your most difficult yet essential obstacle in your life. I have never been so positively influenced by the different forms of meditation and visualization.....once you learn how to do this....you will never live your life without it
Excellent intro video for people who haven’t found these practices. Throat singing, star gazing, rune reading, and of course the more known Hindu yogic practices and transcendental, zen, and vipassana meditation are my favorite methods
Meditation and breathing exercises have become a cornerstone of training for me. I have injuries to both knees so there is a lot I cannot do. As such I've been working to go deeper inside since I cannot do a lot outside. I use MUSE for my practice because I like the direct biofeedback. I strongly believe any health practice needs a reliable tool of measurement to be worth while. Without an external feedback tool improvement and progress is much more difficult and we can too easily delude ourselves.

Hi Adam. Those of us born with ADHD have a unique set of mental challenges that are different from those with "normal" brains. If you have any insight on this matter, I hope to hear your take on ways to handle our unique challenges as well? (Might post this comment under multiple videos in order to better catch your attention! :P) A couple examples off the top of my head: The part of our brains responsible for executive function is underdeveloped, meaning that despite putting tons of mental effort into something, we might not be able to even start doing it (easier with medication, but still a struggle). Another example that relates to this "Meditation" video, the part of our brains responsible for daydreaming NEVER SHUTS OFF, so in a sense we are ALWAYS non-directively meditating, to the detriment of everything else (this is one of the causes for our problems with attention & focus). There are many more examples but I'll stop for now.
@@atha6632 Hit Atha, thanks for the interest! I believe there are some ADHD RUclips channels that explain things much better than I could (& in a more fun way). I recommend checking out "How to ADHD", & here's one vid to get you started: ruclips.net/video/jhcn1_qsYmg/видео.html
Hey bioneer I wanted to thank you for making these videos and I watch them all the time repeatedly 24/7 365 your videos give me great inspiration thank you very much have a great day
Great video! I've been meditating for more than 3 years, and every day I discover something new! I'll be looking forward the rest of the topics you've mentioned!
Great content! Love your channel! The only formal type of meditation I use regularly is he Wim Hof Method. However, I frequently engage in meditation based purely on feeling focused on two primary rules: 1) Get uncomfortable and stay there for a while (e.g. cold showers, exercise, doing things now instead of procrastinating). This forces me to be in the current moment and not think so much, as well as break out of routine and be more productive. 2) Imagination training: I regularly attempt to put myself in the mindset of being in an emergency situation. This helps me to regularly tap into the more basic, instinctive nature of the mind and not to get too caught up in our daily, Western problems. I'd love to learn more about your thoughts on some of what Alan Watts talked about during a few of his seminars regarding how words themselves can detract from ones ability to understand nature(I'm heavily paraphrasing here). Anyway, great content! Looking forward to following your channel more!
the best meditation i ever found was search 369 matrix on RUclips. the guy goes into why he uses what frequencies what the effect will be and has a video with moving pictures.i have meditated alot and this was better than 40 hz or 33 hz. pretty sure i unlocked a hidden part of my brain.
Fantastic video! Thanks I regularly use a seated set, taught in the tai chi chuan system I practice. Works for me as discipline/skill to maintain focus is developed as one works through the system through forms and other more dynamic movements. Also great for recovery and a way to keep training through injury.
I know you posted this two years ago, ive watched this video a hundred times. Would you care to find a video of the style you use? I would be interested in seeing this.
Playing music can like meditation. I think memorizing the powers of two or reciting anything from memory can serve as well. Great video. I love the way you articulated some tricky ideas
Meditation and mindfulness are huge with counseling and therapy right now. If you've ever looked into DBT (great for bipolar and some personality disorders), mindfulness is one of the core tenants
I mostly do a personalised version of the mindfulness meditation, everything is the same but i have practice my diaphragm breathing to the point that I can breathe without making a sound. Sometimes while meditating I focus on the sounds around me and since my breath is 100 quiet its easy to do from the first moment. I've also done a bit of the wim method and I've made some progress considering 0 degree water doesn't feel cold. I'm happy you are finally touching on the subject of meditation and the different methods. Good work as always on the video even if its a bit shorter.

This is a Superb Video!!Too Good!!No one I repeat No one has made such an amazing factual video on Meditation!!You are Awesome...I agree meditation is the key to mental health and mental strength!
I have a visionary mind state which I access from time to time, the law of atraction and manifesting thoughts is something I’ve been able to do all my life, now I’m on the process of using it every day, to fulfill every thing that I wish to accomplish, if the mind can concieve it, your body will find a way to do it. Our minds do not distinguish between what is real o what is not, that’s why everything is possible, if we cannot do it by nature we create it, we cannot fly, that’s wy we create planes, understand the point.
This channel is incredibly good. Very smart content. I practice meditation and it is indeed something that has positively changed my life. I usually practice meditation for visualization of something that i want. I notice that when i do not visualize what i want during one day - therefore, not practicing meditation -, it is harder for me to keep the discipline and do the thing i am supposed to do on the next in order to achieve what i want; whereas when i do meditate, it is easier. When i found out that, everything changed. I can do everything and avhieve everything i want just by constantly visualizing it in my brain. Greetings from Brazil. Keep up with the good work mate!!!
Love the video! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks relaxation is a limited use of meditation. I'd love to learn more about how to use meditation to create specific neural outcomes and brain states, like gamma and delta, etc.
The Bioneer if there are so many types of meditation like there are so many exercises for a muscle group, then please suggest that type of meditations that effect many areas in our brain. For example I know push-ups and pull ups/chin ups and sit ups are more than enough to train almost all muscle groups, so in the same manner, please suggest some various types of meditation that are necessity for us in this modern era
I like to use mindful meditation, visualization and CBT, I think they're quite fun and helped me to grow as person by realizing things that I didn't notice about myself, as well as the world and ppl around me, before. The only tricky part to me is to keep the practice more consistent lol
You are by far one of my most favourite right now and I actually practised some kind of self taught meditation practice for quite a while. I would call it sensory meditation if you could say that. It's just the usual daydreaming but instead of letting my mind flow I counsioisly let it subcounciously get into the direction I want. I think it has got something to do with abstract thought or something and what it does in the end is that you create yourself a fake reality by concentrating on the other input sources. I am not good a t writing but for example if you where to want to have the experience that a film character is having you would immerse yourself into his psychology and his sensual inputs. Then you speed up or slow down the informational input and go through his emotional stages. Helps with subcounciously understanding people better. To be honest I'm not very good at explaining this. I kind of found it while trying lucid dreaming but had to break it up because I couldn't discern my dreams from reality anymore. Yeah just wanted to put it out there.
The first time I meditated I remember that after a while I started approaching a light and I started feeling this very warm feeling. I know I had stopped breathing, my breaths got very shallow and I remember not feeling the need to breathe anymore, like I wouldn't run out of air no matter what. Idk it was weird. As I got closer and closer to the light I remember feeling very elated and right before I grabbed it something said "this is dangerous you're not ready!" I opened my eyes, I've been chasing that feeling since. I've used tummo meditation before twice actually. The first time it superheated my head and it was bad, the second time I achieved the results of being able to control body temperature. I usually use breath meditation or body scanning now.
Never heard of the types of meditation you covered in this video When I researched some myself. Would love for you to do alot more on meditation, specifically meditation for stress and anxiety, and to increase physical and mental performance under stress. Also how to increase intuition to be more aware and know what actions to take for complicated situations and challenges.
I use intense visualization as meditation. As a modern day performing strongman, my finale feat involves me bending reinforcing steel on the bridge of my nose. I don’t normally physically train the feat because of the forces it puts on my nose as well as my neck, but I will train it mentally which works pretty well.
Wonderful video, but a clarification should be made. The experience you described as "ego death" is actually called satori (Temporary state of nirvana). The real ego death (or Ego dissolution, as the ego doesn't actually die) is something different.
This is remarkably put and amazingly well researched. What didn't seem to come up was the how of the meditations you mentioned. This video is perfect to rewatch for research into the human mind and body. Have you or would you be interested in researching multiple intelligence? With your current research methods you can make a more valid point than most professional information brokers.
I personally meditate by closing my eyes breathing and just moving in a natural pattern just swaying and swinging tensing here and there also if in a cramped space you have to memorize your surroundings it's quite nice really
Funny you should post this after I recently decided to start meditating again :) This is a random idea but have you ever thought about making a James Bond themed exercise video? I've always wondered how Craig's Bond could theoretically stay in peak physical condition despite his heavy drinking, busy lifestyle and unenthusiastic attitude towards exercise. Also how his special forces background might influence his training. Just a thought
I always try to meditate when in a bus or a plane. I just shut down and let my mind run free, at some point i dont even ear: theres just me and my mind and is one of the most relaxing moments of my day

I am subscribed to about 2k channels in YT, and this is seriously the best one
You are a genius dude you should have you're own podcast
Totally agree
This guy is awesome
I don't do meditation. Frankly, I'm quite overwhelmed by all the different kinds. This really helped me narrow them down. You're awesome. Thank you!
I use the Wim Hof Method. I find it can help clear my mind and help me flow better in any work I'm doing.
I was so into wim Hoff until I realized he just ripped off yoga lmao
A couple examples off the top of my head: The part of our brains responsible for executive function is underdeveloped, meaning that despite putting tons of mental effort into something, we might not be able to even start doing it (easier with medication, but still a struggle).
I know im 2 years late, but care to explain some more examples? Im really interested
@@atha6632 Hit Atha, thanks for the interest! I believe there are some ADHD RUclips channels that explain things much better than I could (& in a more fun way). I recommend checking out "How to ADHD", & here's one vid to get you started:

Hey bioneer I wanted to thank you for making these videos and I watch them all the time repeatedly 24/7 365 your videos give me great inspiration thank you very much have a great day
Great video!
I've been meditating for more than 3 years, and every day I discover something new!
I'll be looking forward the rest of the topics you've mentioned!
I am doing meditation after this video
Dude it is one of the best chennal on RUclips
Your channel is pure gold. I wish you had more subscribers.
One of my favorite content creators because the topics are covering such an large array of areas concerning human development as a whole. Thumb up!
I am just loving your amazing content. It's made me so much better in too many ways to describe. Thanks for making this channel
Great content! Love your channel!
The only formal type of meditation I use regularly is he Wim Hof Method. However, I frequently engage in meditation based purely on feeling focused on two primary rules:
1) Get uncomfortable and stay there for a while (e.g. cold showers, exercise, doing things now instead of procrastinating).
Cant wait for the lucid dream video!!!!

the best meditation i ever found was search 369 matrix on RUclips. the guy goes into why he uses what frequencies what the effect will be and has a video with moving pictures.i have meditated alot and this was better than 40 hz or 33 hz. pretty sure i unlocked a hidden part of my brain.
Fantastic video! Thanks
I regularly use a seated set, taught in the tai chi chuan system I practice.
What is DBT?
I mostly do a personalised version of the mindfulness meditation, everything is the same but i have practice my diaphragm breathing to the point that I can breathe without making a sound. Sometimes while meditating I focus on the sounds around me and since my breath is 100 quiet its easy to do from the first moment. I've also done a bit of the wim method and I've made some progress considering 0 degree water doesn't feel cold. I'm happy you are finally touching on the subject of meditation and the different methods. Good work as always on the video even if its a bit shorter.
Before I ride my motorcycle. I thought in my mind that I'm already dead by a traffic accident many times and it really help me to be more careful on the road.
Bro Your on Beast Mode with not only knowledge about the body and mind . Thank You super Ninja ....
@0-KINGSLOTH-0 It's short for "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy", Adam did a really good video on it about 1 or 2 years ago, you should look it up! 👍
Book called “Adventures in Meditation” by Isaac Boatright is wonder-full and super inspiring))))
What is it about?
I want to know more
You are by far one of my most favourite right now and I actually practised some kind of self taught meditation practice for quite a while.
You sir. Are AMAZING! Thank you for sharing this information. I don't meditate enough and you opened my eyes to the benefits I'm missing out on!
great videos thanks. God bless!
Was already watching one of your older videos when I got notification of this one, crazy. Keep up the good work.
Same here lol
I can't believe I missed this video. Solid work as always.
How in the world i was unaware of this channel!!!???
You are different, bringing everything with facts and telling us its benefits it takes a lot of hardwork nice work no awesome work
Your content is always top notch. Keep up the great work!
I use intense visualization as meditation. As a modern day performing strongman, my finale feat involves me bending reinforcing steel on the bridge of my nose. I don’t normally physically train the feat because of the forces it puts on my nose as well as my neck, but I will train it mentally which works pretty well.
Your editing in this was just awesome
Every video u guys do is on my downloads alsome thank u for sharing your knowledge
Wonderful video, but a clarification should be made. The experience you described as "ego death" is actually called satori (Temporary state of nirvana). The real ego death (or Ego dissolution, as the ego doesn't actually die) is something different.
Mindfulness; it makes me a better Soldier.
I find 1-2 hour walks with no gadgets just me and my wandering thoughts to really work for me.
Thank you for reminding me to continue meditation.
Honestly too good to be true every thing i want
Bro I just want to say....I fucking love your channel from the topics tips and per oddness plz don't ever change this channel💪
God I love this channel. It helps in basically every aspect of everything you need to know!
Amazing perspective
Funny you should post this after I recently decided to start meditating again :) This is a random idea but have you ever thought about making a James Bond themed exercise video? I've always wondered how Craig's Bond could theoretically stay in peak physical condition despite his heavy drinking, busy lifestyle and unenthusiastic attitude towards exercise. Also how his special forces background might influence his training. Just a thought
Sounds like a great idea
I always try to meditate when in a bus or a plane. I just shut down and let my mind run free, at some point i dont even ear: theres just me and my mind and is one of the most relaxing moments of my day
Strongest reason why i meditate is because it improves my belief in myself (what i say and do) :D
Awesome video. Cheers from India
New subscriber because of this video right here! I have been doing meditation through the Koru app and am looking to expand into Tai Chi and perform new meditations. Can’t wait to see your videos on some different avenues!
You really dig into subjects. You are on my top 3 content producers on the Internet!
By the way, i practice transcendental meditation daily 👌
Doing simple thing such as doing math in your head is a form of meditation? That is amazing. Because I do that a lot. Randomly multiply large numbers.
Hope you get millon subs.... amazing video, the power of mindfullness
Brother i like your videos so much i didn't watch it but gave it a like....now i have and i want to like it again 😂
Your videos are so great and inspiring. Thank you! Also, I just got a copy of your book, and it’s great so far!
Just in the time when I was searching for meditation, thanks.
Really nice editing throughout the video by the way.
Slick production dude, and thoughtful content as usual! Cheers

This is your greatest video ever 🕉 🙏 #inspired
Great video. I’d like to mention Neville Goddard’s lectures read by either Nevillution,or by Brian Scott, here on RUclips. There great. Also,Ernest Holmes’-Science of Mind,a book with some amazing content. They are both have to do with creating reality using imagination and statements of the Truth. I’m really glad that I found this information!
Math is something I don't like, but that is very rewarding. Perhaps having to learn algebra in school isn't a waste after all.
Great content, surprised this hasn't blown up yet
Been looking forward to this since you mentioned it last week. Awesome work, brilliant video.
Awesome video mane!! You should do a series on the different types of meditation and give some examples as well.
