    Alex is such an accomplished young player - she rarely loses a point on her backhand. Lovely to watch.

    Both players are pretty good, but the lady (Alex) seems more experienced and is certainly not intimidated playing a male counterpart

      What you might be seeing is a the calmer movement that players learn with more experience. Lowe-level players move with more desperation because they don't have good court movement that positions you in the best spot and allows you to get to the ball more economically…. If this was a casual game then they might not be trying as hard but it's a tournament so it's quite an insult to suggest that he wasn't trying.

      ​@@jacobpaint​well he was not 100% focused. Like playing with his racquet between points (and body language between points), late preparation, unnecessary funky shots, not pushing the pace... Too bad for him since he lost
