Quick straw poll: If you're a paragliding pilot, do you also try to get a window seat on the plane? Seems that Greg does and I do, so that's 2 out of 2. Other pg pilots?
Greg, I am happy you're back. I missed your voice. You're one of my favourite flying masters and teachers. Thank you for all your work for paragliding.
Nice storytelling, loved it! 👍A very useful video for competition newcomers and those who want to try! Thanks for your hard work of filming and putting it together - I know what it costs😅
Awesome film Greg! You never fail to inspire. After watching for some months I've finally started learning at a local school and I'm having the time of my life! I expect I will be Flying with Greg™ as soon as I've flown the nest to keep progressing. My local site is Gerlitzen in southern Austria, would love to meet you if you ever find yourself in that corner of the world, cheers!
Ah Sensei is Back !!! welcome back I still have so much to learn like staying off the ground for more than 10 mins without a motor I'm Glad the Master Jedi is back in Action we have all missed your wise ways of the force this year !!!! and your one hell of a Pilot and I have much to Learn in the arts of the sky's and how she behaves !!!!!!! P.S I want that Vario Gadget you got what was it called ??? ah yes The Omni how much is that bay boy ??? will it help me stay off the ground for more than 10 mins and find thermals ???
for raw thermaling and simple XC it's probably better to start off with a simpler instrument like Skytraxx 5 mini (easy to see, easy to understand) ... the Omni is better suited to XC pilots who are looking for the next level of information regarding airspace & mapping and have the attention to spare on processing the information it can present (other pilots climbs, convergence lift, etc). Although you might find it helpful when you do your motoring, the airspace display and maps are very useful, and it's brighter than a phone. My review will come out in a while then you can see what you think.
Hi Greg! greetings from China. Good to see your video finally coming out. I've been practicing on my launch skills as you advised(guess who I am). See you in goal next time!!😃
Epic! Technical RUclips trick: RUclips has started with that silly "1080p low bitrate" to promote RUclips premium. You can avoid that by uploading in 1440p (so just render your 1080p footage to 1440p in Premiere or Resolve) - this forces RUclips to serve a better bitrate to the viewers, for less compressed video! Not sure how long this workaround will be valid for, but I recommend it!
Great video, Greg. Can I ask what is the add-on you have on the top of your handles? I have a Volt 5, which I love, and I'm looking for something similar to go on the handles it came with.
It's probably the most 'accessible' two liner C on the market, very easy to fly with very little active flying required, because it doesn't pitch and is very calm in turns. It can be too docile for some pilots, if you prefer bite and energy and agility then this isn't for you. Great for volbiv flying, great to launch, ultralight, seems to have good performance in the class but not the top end speed of Photons and ArtikR.
@@Luke.A.Hayman correct, from the flight instrument. So the vario data is generated from changes in GPS altitude ('real vario m/s' doesn't make it into an IGC file).
@@FlyWithGreg "'real vario m/s' doesn't make it into an IGC file". That isn't true, SYN paired with bluetooth vario has vario data in IGC from my Android phone.
Hey Greg, awesome video, thanks for that the watch awesome production, tho quality of the 360X4 looks quite blurry, did you film it compressed for longer storage ? X3 video @5.6k looks a lot higher definition
I think it's the fault of those bubble lens protectors. I've stopped using them. Might also be due to me zooming in on some shots. Also all 360cams need strong sunlight, so cloudy days look poor quality.
It boggles my mind, as a humble EN-B pilot, to see people in high-level gliders and in competitions messing up their launches (not just here, but also in general when flying in my local sites). I understand that their gliders are more difficult to launch, but somehow I'd expect them to have more experience to keep their gliders in control. Not criticizing, just wondering if they practice enough ground handling etc...
Loved this video, great subject and edit but the sound mix was awful! Vario WAY too loud unfortunately! Had to turn the volume down a lot when the vario sounded, so I missed a lot of what you said. Vario down and voiceover up 👍 The background music only added to the mess 😅 sorry! Still great video just hope you can sort the balance out! Thank you Greg! ❤
paddling my pod harness beneath the inversion layer for an hour before we even started the task ... it was the only way I could be sure to avoid the terrible launch queue.
ha, yes, it's not aimed at the general audience; it's my typical handcrafted educational documentary vlog demonstration investigative realtime experience mashup made for pilots. It's hard to make XC competition flying hold the interest of non-flyers for any length of time.
Really happy to see you're putting videos up again. I've missed them! 👍👍👍
I watched for 59 minutes without getting bored-once again, an incredibly entertaining and insightful video! Thank you! 🙂
I'm a paramotor pilot, but I love watching paragliding videos. Fantastic job making this post, looking forward to the next one!

Always. HG & PG pilot. Business Class makes it even better
4/4
5/5
If possible, yes.
Pg pilot in training. But when I fly, i aim for the window seat!. But when I fly with my girlfriend, I have to sacrifice the window seat to her 😂
Simply amazing, beautiful....you are the best!! Thank you for sharing!!❤
Thank you so much!

🔥🏆🔥 Always ready for epic flying
Excellent film Greg, really well put together.
Great vid. As usual! Thanks for sharing!
Loved that movie , keep up the good flying / work into these videos, much appreciated 👍
Extremely awesome work! Thank you, Greg!
Brilliant, thanks for sharing Greg.

Thanks for the tip, I might have to step up to editing and exporting in 4K, I've been on 1080p for ages because most viewers use phones.
Someone won the taske with a Rush 6 😂. Skill over performance
He also got second overall. Pal is an absolute legend!
Great video, well done.
Beautiful !!!!
very very instructive video , thank you !
Great video Greg. Will you make one for the Porterville comp this year?? Hint hint😉

I dont see anything added? Just the standard wooden handles... 🤔
Fantastic video Greg!
What do you think of the Volt 5? I'm thinking of getting it in december to step up from my Base2. Happy flights!

Love the stats on screen - how do you manage that? is there a premiere pro plugin that can read the IGC file somehow?
'Telemetry Overlay', with a bit of fiddling around , exporting a transparent layer of stats, tweaking it to sync it up.''
@@FlyWithGreg Thanks Greg! Where do that stats come from though, the IGC file?

Unfortunately not due to liability issues: 3 people developed vision problems after seeing me, and one had to go to an institution

Hi(gh) Greg, what soft do you use to add telemetry to the video?
I think its called Telemetry Overlay, using the IGC file from my flight instrument.
Where can I buy this mask? Need the same one!
it's the Ozone balaclava but I stitched up the nose so it doesn't slide away and give me a weird sunburn!
great
Hi Joanna!
I really want to learn how to fly but I'm so scared of heights
