    Inspired by your video, I bought one and just installed it in my Cannon X. Definitely a big improvement over what the factory EQ settings deliver. Took about 1.5 hours to rip the head unit off, wire it up and then tune the DSP. Didn't bother undoing the seat and going under the carpet - just fed it down from the centre console. Pulling the head unit off was definitely the hardest part! Recommend anyone doing this on the X try and rip the lower section out with your hands because the Supercheap trim tools can scratch the plastic.

    After seeing your video,I bought and installed a DSP into a cannon x. Pulling out the dash around the screen was easy once I saw how Byron took it out. I also have difficulties with Savage tech answering there phones for support. Do you know what the red and blue wires are for coming out of the DSP. Plug .I heard you say that the blue one was for power to the sub ?Ron

      Hey mate :) that's awesome. I didn't hook up any other wiring.
      There is other wiring there incase you want to install a amp for a subwoofer but if not you don't hook up to anything.... I believe.
      Glad you got the dash out easily. Great job mate. Cheers

    I just installed this in mine. Didn't really come with instructions - glad this video existed. Can't get the guys at savage to pick up on the support line unfortunately.
    Is yours set to "acc" or "high" for start mode? I notice the acc wire isn't connected in the harness so it doesn't work... Did you tap the acc line in so you don't drain your bat? If so, where?

    • @wheelsbytheocean
      @wheelsbytheocean  2 месяца назад

      Hey mate, that sucks they aren't answering you...
      I'm not sure about the acc or high? Didn't even see that..
      I didn't tap a acc line as the unit is plug and play into standard wiring harness so only gets power when stereo gets power from ignition... I believe anyway
      Hope that helps 😀

    • @systemadminn
      @systemadminn 2 месяца назад +1

      The light on mine when set to high seems to keep blinking red for at least 5 minutes after total power off. But I haven't checked after longer than that, so I'm assuming it's powered always when set to high. Suppose I'll come back at check it after 30 mins or so and see if it's still blinking....

      @systemadminn keep trying savage tech too when they are open. Or send them a message. They know there stuff so hopefully you can get a straight forward answer 😀

      @systemadminn 2 месяца назад +1

      No luck for a few days and like 8 calls 😂 but all good. I put the DSP on the dash and gave it like 15 minutes, came back without unlocking or opening the door - and the light wasn't blinking. So you're right. It turns off, but there's obviously a little delay.
      Just picked up my subwoofer. Putting that in now.

    Is there a reason the DTS has to be switched off?? When I switch mine off the quality of the music significantly drops.

    • @wheelsbytheocean
      @wheelsbytheocean  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah I'm not sure why. I notice it's better with it on
      But I'm assuming that Savage Tech has programmed the DSP to the Max the speakers can handle. So then when you turn the DTS on it delivers more power to the speakers and could blow them.... that's my guess

      I wouldn't mind adjusting my treble down a little though as the Mrs listens to some very acoustic songs haha

    If the audio settings are all still at the factory, and DTS is disabled... then yes, the audio is crap.
    However, I recently sat in a cannon with a newly installed and tuned DSP and compared it to mine.
    In mine (stock) when the levels were adjusted correctly first, and then DTS selected, there was little to no difference between the two vehicles.
    With adjustment, the stock audio system is quite satisfactory and pushes the limits of the OEM speakers when levels are tuned and DTS is applied.

    • @wheelsbytheocean
      @wheelsbytheocean  2 месяца назад

      Wow nah I didn't have that experience with mine. Haha mine is ear pearcing loud now haha my stock system couldn't get anywhere near this.
      I've tried playing around with the other guys ones that I know and can't get anywhere near this.
      But did your DSP have an Amplifier built in? On the one you were checking out?
