    Is the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio your favourite SUV?

    • @ohhyesitsonlyme
      @ohhyesitsonlyme 2 месяца назад +6

      Yes! I have had one for near 3 years now in Misano Blue and love every moment with her. Yes the ride is hard, yes it lacks all the tech and gadgets of Merc’s and Audi’s and BMWs but that makes it a much purer drive with less techy interference. It’s designed as a drivers car and has so much heritage and history behind the Quadrifoglio badging it stands out from the generic German offerings. And the engine sound is amazing! Hardly a ‘diesel’ sound that you refer to!!

    I don’t give a shit about screens. That cabin is much better than the newer ones with no physical controls. Like my Cayman. All the tech I need and all the controls I need. This generation of cabin is the peak for me. It’s all been downhill from there.

      Totally agree. I like buttons and switches ...the more the merrier. I can't be the only one. I'd have them overhead as well. I'd have one screen for sat nav and detailed information.
      I don't mind minimalism in certain settings....but a cockpit is not one of them.

      Yeah, I really feel like reviewers go to great lenghts to find issues with italian cars. As if their credibility depended on it. It’s kind of an unwritten duty which they must fulfill.
      One polish guy found a grievance with rattling license plate frame on the bootlid of the giulia. A freaking dealer installed 1€ part…
      The logic goes: Italian car without cons??? This surely cannot be. The germans must have done it better somehow… There must be a way to legitimise it through this review.

    it owns the NURBURGRING record for the last 7 years! BMW AUDI, Mercedes have all given up
    they dont even try to beat the record anymore... they failed for 7 YEARS and they have improved their SUVs every year for the past 7 and the STELVIO has not changed at all! Gotta love it when the Italians school the Germans on engineering a vehicle!

    The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a fantastic car, with one of the best V6 you could dream of, and the best sound engine.

      @@denalisiomontpellier4064 This is simply not true. Since 2020, they have led in reliability. And the engines were never a problem. Issues were mostly electrical in nature, and fuel pumps were not robust enough for hotter climates. My Alfa's have been WAY more reliable than my German cars, while still being driven aggressively. You MUST keep these high performance cars maintained, and they will treat you right!

    The interior being as it is is actually a HUGE plus!!! It's a CAR, not a drivable laptop. We like and very much prefer physical buttons, and screens that aren't giant distracting iPads just waiting for manufacturers to bury useful functions into just to save costs, but significantly compromising on actual real world usability. There's a very good reason why older, more analog drivers cars are shooting up in value.
    Please stop encouraging manufacturers to adopt the stupid new modern touch screen everything interface that people hate!!

    • @adri.progression
      @adri.progression 2 месяца назад +1

      Exactly! Earlier this week I was reading Industrial Design posts on LinkedIn about Teenage Engineering and their use of tactile controls on their software-hardware products, and the references to Hi-Fi dials, knobs, levers, buttons etc. as they relate to humans interfacing with technology.
      Driving and darting eyes while waiting for an 'over the air update' to use the ipad on the dash in order to change the temperature controls is insane!
      It's all UI without proper UX, because people shouldn't be going through sub-menus in order to do basic functions, but car mfg are gonna cut corners how they can I guess.
      I am really keen on this vehicle, I'm a recent college grad so it'll be a while before I can purchase but wow the more I learn about it the more magnetic it gets!

    When a car reviewer steps in to a new Alfa to assess the car he first needs to know what inspires Alfa Romeo to produce cars….their DNA, if you will. So when the reviewer starts warbling on about touch screens, infotainment systems et al, I question if said reviewer understands the marque. Alfa cares not a jot if their infotainment systems aren’t quite as speedy as some other manufacturers; you buy an Alfa first, second and third for the drive the heritage and the badge. Most petrolheads and cognoscenti know this, as do all Alfisti.

    When comparing it to a Giulia QV, he missed a big one…“Taller, Heavier and All Wheel Drive” He forgot QUICKER than a Giulia QV. That’s right, this Stelvio is FASTER 0-60 than the Giulia due to the AWD grip. (Giulia fans like to ignore that fact.) And before the Giulia boyz go on about how a rear wheel drive is more fun to drive, the Stelvio can shift power 100% rear wheels only (when necessary - but not on demand sadly).

    Not a big fan of the new beams. Looks like a BMW and a bit more generic compared to the xenons. However, it's the better technology. Even if they should have used the technology used in the Opel / Vauxhall Astra K. Its way quicker and better than the one used in the new Giulia/Stelvio. It's all Stellantis, so why not? Ultimately, everything that is built on the Girogio platform is massively underestimated. For all those who want to drive cheaply, sportily and robustly, I recommend the 4-cylinder engine with 280 hp. That's all you need, especially in an SUV ;)

    Reverse camera? What the hell for? There's windows, mirrors and sensors if you really need them. How did we cope 40 years ago without all that crap.
