Apart from the camera, I think Samsung peaked with the Note 10+.

I have to agree. I ended up "jumping" (T-mobile) my Note 10+ 5g, to the s22 Ultra, because I had a couple of month span where I had a case of the "dropsies" with my poor Note, which caused it to start to fail. Never dropped it, the 2 years prior 😔😔. Anyway, you're right. It looks like Samsung has started to downgrade their phones. The camera array, with technology as it is, SHOULD improve, every year. But how do you make a LARGER phone, yet LOSE the storage space, by HALF, whether it's the Note 20 Ultra, or the s22 Ultra?? 😲😐🙃 I'm also not impressed with the camera. Seems worse, to me.

@@swifty1969 I've had every Note, since the 2. My last favorite phone, was my 10+5g, with the Aura Glow package. I now have the Note 20 Ultra, (I have 2 phones) and the S22 Ultra replaced my Note 10, because it was beginning to fail, due to recent repeated accidental drops.
Aside from the camera arrays, which should get better, every generation of phone, HOW DID each subsequent version, get WORSE? 😳
The Note 10 had 256 gigs of internal storage, in a very thin package. The Note 20 comes along, and while it is a tiny bit larger, screen-wise, it's also FATTER!!, yet the memory storage, was HALVED!! 😳😳 Same goes for the S22. Fatter phone; similar 128 gigs of internal storage. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ And then Samsung seems to keep dropping internal items, like the S22 losing the microSD slot! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ WHY??? Makes NO sense.
It almost seems to me like Samsung knows there's going to be a financial collapse, and has chosen to not push more R&D (or cut back), into their flagships. 🤔🤔
All I know is that, if they're going to make a larger, FATTER phone, there should be no reason why they needed to drop the memory (256GB to 128GB), or RAM (12GB to 8GB), or lose the SD card slot, among other things I've failed to mention. I appreciate the expected things (bigger battery 🔋, better processor, each iteration), but the other things that were dropped, make no sense.
Also, while I'm not a regular "picture-taker", I noticed, early on, that the S22 takes WORSE pictures, than the phone it replaced, my Note 10. Camera on the S22 Ultra SHOULD BE BETTER, than the one on the Note 10+5G.

@@johndanielsforJesus the reason they're actling like that is because they know that we once loyal Sammy customers don't have a suitable replacement company to switch to. I don't trust those Chinese companies like Xiaomi or Huawei, Zte and their android os implementation. And you can bet your ass it has all kinds of backdoor to spy on the user more so than any other company. So we're pretty much stuck with Samsuck or Apple.

Note 10+ squad. I have only had the device since last April, unlike a lot of people that have had it since launch or longer than me. I got it from Samsungs pre-owned program and it looked brand new. Best device I ever used. And it has something the S22 Ultra will never have... SD card support. Oh, and compared to the base model S22U, 256gb of storage and 12gb of RAM. Device has never let me down, has great cameras, screen and is super fast. No need to downgrade to the S22U for someone like me. Only things it has that I would even benefit slightly from is high refresh rate and a better camera, and thats meh to me.

Agree. My primary resson to upgrade from Note 10+ to S22 Ultra is to get much better fingerprint sensor response and 5G capability in which I could get 110G data at the same price with 4G plan of 12G data only where I have to count the mobile data usage carefully before upgrade. Now I feel much comfortable to send/receive emails or message even if I could not have WiFi access.

Besides what they said about the fingerprint sensor improvements... There's like no difference at all in terms of quickness... The galaxy S or Note 10 already has a great sensor to begin with... Yeah the 22 series has a bigger sensor, but after using the gen 1 ultrasonic fingerprint for a while, you'll get a hang of where the sensor is located... A quick tap and your phone is unlocked

I think the main takeaway from this comparison is this:
Image quality is very very subjective because when you showed that first photo of the dog I must say I prefer the note 10 image as the 22 ultra just seem somewhat washed out, but as you said it that's what the photo os supposed to look like in that scenario, but I bet that if you don't say anything and just show the photo as a blind test most people will say the note 10 image looks better.
As for zooming in to check details after taking the shot I don't think anyone other than reviewers and photographers do that so I don't think that makes much of a difference as long as the photo looks good.
Overall unless you want new software features and all the new hardware that comes with the new phones I personally don't think that anyone that has a note 10 plus should make the change to the 22 ultra I don't think the note 10 feels enough to justify buying a new phone.

The only reason why I even have an S22 Ultra is because I was fortunate enough to find one, while on My way to class one morning. I love them both, but the Note10+ still holds the crown for Me. It holds a special place due to how I've customized it and the Aura Glow variant is still the best looking theme to ever hit the market, for any phone...ever.

I just had to get the screen replaced on my Note 10 Plus. Turns out a new screen comes with a new battery, speakers, and new front panel. I'm keeping this until Samsung makes another leap, like they did with the Note 10 Plus.

As for the cameras. I think the saturation level has some to do with what the general public wanted in 2019 for mobile photography. Going with the trend that Apple started... In 18/19 most people wanted super saturated photos. A few years later now people want more natural/ brighter photos.
To me, there's not enough difference for me to upgrade. The one reason I would though is if for some reason my Note 10+ ceased to function properly or broke. That's it. I don't need the 120hz display or the higher-end cameras that badly to give up expandable storage, a lighter thinner device, larger base storage, and more. I'll probably wait for the S23 ultra or even 24 ultra if this phone doesn't take a poop before then. But it doesn't look like it is going to any time soon seeing as it's fibroblasts the same if not better than the day I got it.
Btw... I'm now subscribed! Like your videos a lot! Keep it up!

I'm thinking of switching from S22 Ultra to Note 10 Plus. Reason, my top-right screen is spoilt. And rather than spending the $ to repair just a portion, might as well I get a phone. Thanks for the review. Now I know what's to be done next. 🤝

I've just got the s22 ultra. I only upgraded for the cameras and I honestly can't decide if the photos are better than my note 10 plus. It's definitely better at macro and at zooming but when it comes to standard every day pics I can't decide. Sometimes the the s22 ultra looks better but a lot of the time I prefer the Note 10 plus photos

I changed my s9+ for note 10 plus, there was a ton of difference, the screen, the speed etc. I mean I am having it since 2019 and I am not giving it up until Samsung bring something note 10+nish, revolutionary on the market. It's slimer, lighter and more beautiful. This is the first phone I won't sell after use but keep as secondary whenever I change it. Not mentioning its the only note with 256gb memory stock, no 128 option ;) they declined that as well, shame samsung, shame ! Also the super fast charge ... shame

It’s always funny to me in these comparisons when they take those side by side pictures. Maybe 1 person in 10,000 is going to care about the difference in those dog pictures. I get it, we’ve basically run out of true innovative tech in smart phones, so now it’s down to pixels (smh), but coughing up $1,200 for a new phone just because it’s new is in the past for me. My Note 10+ doesn’t have a scratch on it, so I’m holding on to it for now.

tbh, got rid of my note 10 plus 5g, missed it so much decided to get another about 4 weeks back instead of the 22 ultra-from this vid and others, I made the right decision and saved hundreds. the pics are not really that different-i was expecting much more from the 22 cameras. screen not much different-only notice as they are side by side, don't have a headphone jack in my note 10 but do have expandable memory-win win for the price-no doubt.

apparently the adaptive battery tech doesnt work the first few weeks of owning the phone, it has to learn your habbits then it gets better. also if you have the screen in 120hz mode rather then 60hz mode that will drain your battery faster too.

I think note 10 plus (which I've had for about 2 yrs) is one of the best phones Samsung has made when quality and cost are both considered. I've used mine daily for 2 years and it's still going strong and will crush anything I throw at it. I've dropped my phone at least 30 times and from pretty high and any other phone would have shattered but the note 10 plus isn't phased at all. I am not big on cameras and picture taking but there are a ton of options there if you are. The only thing I can say that I have noticed is that I watch a lot of RUclips and sometimes the screen doesn't rotate when I turn my phone, like the gyro lags or something. Might just be a software issue like recalibration is necessary but yea only things I have noticed that's degraded other than normal battery wear and tear. If you're in the market for a phone I would most definitely get yourself a new one, they are priced very well for what you get.

Cameras and Adaptive refresh rate I'd say are the biggest upgrade other than that from 2019 flagship to this years are very incremental upgrade that only tech enthusiasts like me or you would care about, so to 90% of the users I wouldn't advice an upgrade and to wait another 2-3 years until the 2019 flagship is done with all the updates.

Battery life is little worse, of course, and yes, todays flagships can make little bit better photos with better zoom and more details. But still it (Note 10+) has better camera than the mid-class. Realistically, for me, the Note20 Ultra is a better buy at this point than the Note10+; like the rest of the S10 family (except the S10 Lite & Note10 Lite), the Note10+ is effectively done with major Android updates (like my S10+, Android 12+One UI 4.1 is the end of the road). Worse yet, it's not like you can extend the life with custom ROMs, as the Snapdragon variants have been basically unrootable since the S7 family. (Exynos variant owners don't have this problem...) And the Note20 Ultra still has a year or two of major upgrades left.
