It's been over ten years now, since I've had to let my heart ferret go. I can still feel his little head, snuggling to get past my shirt and rest his head on my heart, just as I can still feel the first kiss he gave me, when I first held him and knew that he was mine. Take the time you need to grieve and remember to love Zoro, love your girls, and love yourself, as well.
Kate, I am sitting here with tears rolling down my face, I'm so sorry but you gave him a better life than he would have had in the wild or even in the shelter. The shockingly quick decline is horrendous.
@@FerretTubeTV I don't have ferrets myself, but I do adopt elderly cats from the RSPCA. It's horrible to lose them, especially suddenly but you're so right about giving them a happy and spoiled life. It doesn't make it feel much better in the immediate moment, but it does help as you heal.

I've been having a think about a memorial, can't think of anything incorporating his ashes... but I'm sure there's some talented crafter on Etsy or somewhere that could make a soft toy that looks like Luffy that you can give to Zoro... and maybe a small bronze engraved sign in memory of him that you can fix to the wall in the shed.
Ooh.. I love these ideas... Giving a plushie to Zoro would be very precious. I definitely want some kind of stone or plaque I can embed somehow in the garden. I have a nice sunny wall I could actually turn into a memorial wall for all my pets... Thank you for thinking on this for me. It is good to know I have back up with some great ideas 💖🐾

Earlier this year, I lost my elder kitty, Nala, from a similar condition. From one grieving pet parent to another, I wish you all the best. Luffy was obviously very loved, and I have no doubt that he knew it. I'm so glad you have your other babies to help you heal.
Luffy was such a fun guy to watch and I know the heartache of losing a ferret earlier than expected due to illness. I can only hope commercial breeding and ferret items get better. The biggest problem with pets is they don't last as long as we want them to. It breaks your heart as they are a big part of your family and life. You gave him a fantastic life after he had a terrible upbringing and lived as a prince with your care.

I’m so sorry for your loss, this hit me really hard as I had two ferrets myself that were the exact same coat pattern as Luffy and Zoro. A similar situation happened where Gizmo, my darker ferret, developed adrenal gland cancer and fought it for several years before finally passing one night. Coco my lighter ferret only lasted around 4 weeks before grief took her from me as well. I remember them both from all the fun they had playing together and getting into things while I took care of them. Both lived a strong 7 years together but this brought them back to me even if its a sad reminder.
Thank you for sharing that with me. You're right, 7 years is a good age and it seems like you looked after them brilliant. I am spending lots off time with Zoro for sure, and he is slowly integrating with the girls during playtimes 💖🐾

Aw I am so sorry to hear this today it is heart breaking losing a loved fuzzy i know as a rescue ive lost my fair share - each one takes another piece of your heart with them. I always tell fuzzie parents to always remember what a life you have given them and what happy little lives they have had with you I know my words wont help much but you did all you could to make sure he had all the treatment and attention he needed when he needed it - my heart breaks for you so much i wish i could just give you a big hug right now. I cant help but shed tears when i hear one of our beloved little rascals slip away from us please try to remember the good times and the love and care and more importantly the happiness you brought into this precious little life. Luffy was such a fun guy to watch and I know the heartache of losing a ferret earlier than expected due to illness. I can only hope commercial breeding and ferret items get better. The biggest problem with pets is they don't last as long as we want them to. It breaks your heart as they are a big part of your family and life. You gave him a fantastic life after he had a terrible upbringing and lived as a prince with your care.

I’m so sorry for your loss, this hit me really hard as I had two ferrets myself that were the exact same coat pattern as Luffy and Zoro. A similar situation happened where Gizmo, my darker ferret, developed adrenal gland cancer and fought it for several years before finally passing one night. Coco my lighter ferret only lasted around 4 weeks before grief took her from me as well. I remember them both from all the fun they had playing together and getting into things while I took care of them. Both lived a strong 7 years together but this brought them back to me even if its a sad reminder.
Thank you for sharing that with me. You're right, 7 years is a good age and it seems like you looked after them brilliant. I am spending lots off time with Zoro for sure, and he is slowly integrating with the girls during playtimes 💖🐾

Aw I am so sorry to hear this today it is heart breaking losing a loved fuzzy i know as a rescue ive lost my fair share - each one takes another piece of your heart with them. I always tell fuzzie parents to always remember what a life you have given them and what happy little lives they have had with you I know my words wont help much but you did all you could to make sure he had all the treatment and attention he needed when he needed it - my heart breaks for you so much i wish i could just give you a big hug right now. I cant help but shed tears when i hear one of our beloved little rascals slip away from us please try to remember the good times and the love and care and more importantly the happiness you brought into this precious little life. Aw so sad to see this and we are with you when you need us please talk with us and share your grief with you - it can take such a long time to be able to even speak their name without the tears and i really wish i could do more to help through this difficult time DIP Luffy you were loved so much more than you knew sweetbaby
