The word "liminal" comes from the Latin word “limen,” which means threshold. To be in a liminal space means . You can be in a liminal space physically, emotionally, or metaphorically. Being in a liminal space can be incredibly uncomfortable for most people.
Well this is what its feeling like for me, emotionally in one. Thoughts that are supposed to pass by stay Just like liminal spaces, spaces you pass by but never really stay in EX: Hallways, bathrooms, movie theaters.
I think I love liminal spaces because of how honest they are. Life truly is transient, one big quiet elevator we wait in while reflecting on our past and wondering about our future, taking us somewhere. The feelings of departing and arriving are just whisperings of those experiences, we're always in the space between both, and I feel the truth of that gives me a lightness, a subtle comfort.
This reminds me of a dream I had a while back. I woke up in a white tile room. A square room with nothing in it. White tile walls. White tile floors. Everything. No furniture. No people. No nothing. I wandered around the small room for hours. Lullaby’s playing faintly in the background. On one side, there was a free opening to the outside world. Except all it was were fresh fields with nothing in sight. But somehow I didn’t want to leave. The sun soon turned to dusk. It wasn’t dark but the sunset was magical. I laid down. On the cold ground felt so good. As I took in deep breaths, the room filled with water. Only to my waste did the water stop. I stood there. Half drenched in water, nothing around me to tell me to stop. I turned around and I saw a long hallway. Same lullaby’s playing in the distance. They got louder as I walked down the hall. Water still somehow in the same height everywhere I took a step. I didn’t know where it came from. No drains. No holes. Where was it coming from? I walked down the halls for hours. I came across a doorway. Only it was pitch black through the doorway. Nothing could be seen. Even light shining in was drowned in the darkness. Somehow it felt safe. I continued to walk. I didn’t run however. I didn’t seem in a hurry. It lasted forever. I walked through the door and saw pitch black. That’s when I woke up.
what an interesting dream I shall tell you about my dream! So i woke up in my room all messy like usual and i had school but something felt off a bit but i ignored it and got dressed and did all the necessary things for school ( i don't have online school) then i was waiting for one of my parents to take me to school but no one came so i walked! And when i got to school it was empty so i just went to my class and it was open everything was open. I started to wonder what was happening then i saw my siblings! I said their names and my sister turned around while saying " You... why did you come... your not supposed to be here..." then she disappeared. Then i said my brothers name again he turned around but he was crying and some how i knew that it was my fault. So i sat there in my desk thinking but i didn't know what to think then black figures started to appear and covered me next thing i know i was playing with my cousins and we were talking about something but i don't know what then she said i should go fetch my shoes then i looked down and started screaming cause these weird things were stuck to my body and i was bleeding almost like they were eating me. Then i black out and i am standing in some kind of lab thing and a person told me " You didn't have to scream like that it's not like they were eating you" Then i stared at them. Then they replied " okay they were eating you but it's not like you got hurt" then i stared at them again. They replied " fine you can leave now " Then that's when i woke up but i couldn't hear anything i could move and i saw a man who was dressed in a black hoodie, a black pants, black shoes and a black cap. But i couldn't see his face. So i lied there in shock and slowly faded away. And i woke up with a sore throat!
@@imafuckingkms I had one where I was in this rainbow playhouse and I can't remember much it was long ago but i was walking around there meeting loads of weird kids, and I didn't even go with anyone, In the dream Im guessing I was 5 looking for my parents and got distracted by the playhouse and walked in, but I remember two bits of it, one was where there were two boys up on this high thingy that was a circle swinging around with rainbow safety nets saying "We made it! We made it! Woohoo! Yay!" "......wait..but how do we get down? HELP!!" and the last one is where I meet some crazy girl swinging on the nets above where you go into to the soft play area and she keeps on saying "I'm gassy" "smell my farts!" And I replied "ew!" And moved on I'm gonna make a gacha movie out of that now Oh yea another one I had a dream of my cat being on my bed and making these Weird and creepy noises and when he opened his mouth his mouth was a thin rectangle shape, I got so scared my clothes were wet and my face was crumbly when I woke up
All of my memories from my childhood look like weirdcore images, that's probably why I got so attached to them once I saw them and heard playlists like these.
Same for me too. I've been seeing images, games, music and stories with these asthetics since I was a kid so it's weirdly surreal and strangely comforting.
Anyone wanna hear my experience with a weird dream involving liminal spaces? It started out in a long hallway, with off-white colored walls, and that linoleum flooring you see in somewhat older buildings. There were occasional windows to the outside, but it was just stark white light coming in. Nothing out there. Eventually, as I kept walking, I ran into another entity in the space. An approximately 9 foot, maybe taller, shiny, polished metal endoskeleton with red, glowing eyes. It reminded me of a T-800. (AKA the Terminator) with a less threatening appearance. No teeth, no moving jaw, less uncanny in appearance. Still rather intimidating. But it was friendly to me. No hostility at all. It simply approached me, and said a few things about the place we were in, which I unfortunately don't remember, except for "This place is a point which converges with-" and I don't remember the rest. It spoke in a calming, soothing voice. Then there was something about wishing to travel with me. I asked why, and I do actually remember what was said here. "I'm here to keep you safe and protect you in this place." So I allowed it to come with me. As we traveled through this space together, we encountered some weird stuff. One thing I remember distinctly was a water slide that spiraled downwards, but it was upside down, with water still flowing normally despite this. Eventually we came to more hallways, and encountered a masked figure, wearing almost all black, except for the brilliant white mask. It almost looked like it was glowing, and had rather uncanny features. Eyes that were too long, a round, open mouth, and no nose. It was almost as tall as my metallic guardian, and began to approach. The metal endoskeleton immediately told me to get behind them, and marched forwards to face this figure. It swung at the guardian, and struck them with a loud clank. The protector recoiled, before grabbing the figure and telling me to run. So I did. I ran for what felt like hours, but eventually reached a door. Behind me, I could hear footsteps. Hoping it was this protector again, I looked behind to see, but it was the masked figure, having definitely taken a beating. But my endoskeleton guardian was nowhere to be found. So I flung open the door, and ran inside. It was a house. A mostly normal one. Fully furnished, but it just felt... off. But I still needed to keep moving, as I was being pursued through it. I ran and hid in the back corner of a room, still listening to the figure walking around. Soon, I could feel the room heating up. I went to the door, and opened it to be hit with a terrifying realization. The house was on fire, and the masked figure was rounding the corner, now carrying a long, rusted knife. As I ran up a nearby staircase to escape, I heard another set of footsteps, followed by a loud slamming sound, and the distinct clang of metal hitting metal. My protector had come back to help me. The fires had burned out the floors in the upper parts of the house, leaving only charred, and in some cases, flaming wooden beams to walk on. I could see the fight unfolding below me as I looked for an escape. Eventually, I saw one of them fall over. It was the guardian. With surprising speed, the masked figure caught up to me. It walked along the beams towards me, taking a few swings with the knife when close. But the protector below told me to keep going, and break through the nearest wall. "I know what's back there! I know you can make it!" So I kept going, jumping from beam to beam, trying not to fall into the burning house below me. Eventually, I reached the wall. The house was starting to collapse, and the masked figure was about to fall. It lunged for me, swinging wildly at me. But I didn't panic. Everything felt like it was in slow motion, but I kicked the figure, hitting it right in the chest, and knocking it into the blazing fires below, where I heard the sound of the guardian's footsteps walking towards it, followed by some rather gruesome sounds. I knew what happened to the figure. I was safe now. I followed the guardian's instructions, breaking through the nearest wall, which had become completely unsound, right as the house collapsed behind me. I was now in another hallway, this one only lit with blue light coming through a set of automatic glass doors. The other end was completely dark. I heard footsteps again. But they were metallic. I soon saw the glowing red eyes of the metallic guardian again, as it approached me, almost running towards me. And upon reaching me, I was swept up into a tight, though still cold and metallic hug. "We made it. You made it. We're safe together now." This lasted for a bit, before I was put back down. I asked about the doors, and if I should go through them. They said yes, so I began to walk towards them, but the guardian didn't follow. It just stood there. I asked why it wasn't coming with me, and it told me "I can't come with you, as much as I want to. I have to stay here. You should go, but maybe we'll meet again some time." So I just walked through the doors. I don't remember anything else, and I think I woke up afterwards. So yeah, that's my weird, liminal space dream. I hope you enjoyed reading it lol.
There exits a world you can only reach between 3:30 and 3:33 am. Before you travel, I must advise you of the rules. 1. Do NOT pick the flowers. 2. do NOT look at the tall man for over 3 seconds. 3. Do NOT drink tea from anyone. 4. Do NOT step in the yellow flower fields. 5. Do NOT trust anyone. 6. Do NOT go near anyone without a face. 7. Do NOT forget to pray before you sleep. 8. Do NOT forget to wear a watch at all times. 9. Do NOT oversleep. Save travels, see you at the train station! *At the train station* Welcome back! Don't forget your watch! I must now advise you of the rules before we get on. 1. Do NOT fumble for your dream ticket for too long, you will be let off early or late as revenge. 2. Do NOT get off early or late. 3. If you see someone covering their face with a book, newspaper, etc, move IMMEDIATELY. They got off early or late. 4. Ignore the eyes, they are purely watching. They got off too early or late. 5. Do NOT accept anything from the assistants unless it's a bag of crackers. They are the only safe food. 6. Do NOT disrespect the conductor or assistants. That's all, meet you at our stop which is ______! *At **______* There you are! I was worried! Now we have to walk through the death forest. Before we do, here ate the rules. 1. Do NOT interact with ANYTHING or ANYONE there unless it's your guide. 2. Do NOT look at the animals, they are not watching purely. Like for part 3 I'm tired of typing^^🎀🦴
As the saying goes, "Good art should comfort the disturbed & disturb the comfortable" I'd say this has quite succeeded. Or perhaps it's simply the genre..? Still, a wonderful playlist for doodling.
None of this is that weird though, if you want true backrooms shit listen to boards of canada, specifically color of the fire, happy cycling, and like the whole geogaddi album
i don't know if this counts as liminal space or something probably weirdcore or dreamcore, but i had something similar, let me just copy paste one of my diary entries (little bit modified because why not) but, there lies a place, untouched by my version of reality but i had a feeling i have set foot there at least once. that place, has no name. no, it does not require a name. a huge house in the middle of a forest in autumn, yellow leaves all over the ground, trees as far as the eye can see when i took a glance out of the window. there lies an old bike underneath it, and a spiral stairs behind me. "someone used to fell down here, they're fatally wounded, hospitalized. and deceased the next day." said the unknown figure of a woman talking to my mother which happens to be with me at that time as i looked down the window, my vision took on precisely towards the old bike and then took on the spiral stairs short after i sated my curiosity with the bike. i think that's what she said. was it a dream? it's too real to be a dream. and there's another one that i cannot quite describe, it's beautiful yet disappointingly elusive. and another one, a house in the midnight, an empty basketball field. it's too real to be a dream, i asked my mother about it, said she don't remember and telling me that i'm only dreaming. perhaps i immerse myself for way too much in the worlds i have been creating for the past few years at that time. "but is it really a dream?" my question left unanswered. "if it's just a dream, then why does it feels so real? even a certain melodies could invoke their presence." whether that "big house in the middle of an autumn forest" might be real, or not. it's a place that i felt strangely nostalgic, feels like an unknown entity trying to welcome me, that place feels like something to me. but the more i tried to remember, the more i tried to think, that place seem to become more and more hostile, wanting me to revisit them for one more time. i dread just to think about it. it's best if i never visit nor think about them anymore, feels like a backrooms. honestly, this writing does not give my uneasiness vague some sort of shape, feels as if something amiss from the past slowly swallowing me. i want to be there, but once i was there, i know there's no going back. i once heard someone playing la campanella in a piano and it reminds me of that, and this playlist too, reminded me of that.
This is my go to Playlist when I feel stuck, or depressed. It makes me feel like things are going to be okay whenever I find myself listening to this type of music.
This is one of my favorite weirdcore playlists, you did an amazing job with the music choice and avoiding overused songs :) Thanks for making this! /gen

this is something you can always agree just can't be hated... it's something that makes you feel happy.. it makes you remember... all the good things... the past.. all suffering... melting away. Weirdcore as a genre makes me whole, and if you hate this, then you are no true human.
You know I always thought about it, doesn't your phone go with you in the backrooms? And even if it doesn't work, imagine there's a room with wifi or something lmaoo
Ig ima type a story that fits in with this song bc its what i am Part 1 You wake up in your bed and you look around you see no one so you tried calling your mother. ring ring You hear her ringtone in your pocket and you decline the call. When the call screen came off you see her notepad so you open and you read it. "Son you need to get out of here go to the park ill tell you what to do after" After you read the note you went by the door but you saw her decapitated head. You screamed so hard that the floor vibrated and your brother ran down the stairs and took you to a secret bunker. After you went in the bunker you looked in the house cams. There was a bomb inside the house and it blew up breaking the camera and you heard a loud boom at the same time. Then you needed to get food so you came out and looked at the house. It was in shambles. Then you walked into a parlor and all you can hear is this song from a phone it was disturbing and you tried to turn it off but it kept coming back on then suddenly you hear all the windows and doors lock leaving you in the dark with this disturbing music... But didn't I mention YOU HAD A SLEDGEGAMMER AND SLAMMED UP THAT PHONE. But... It... Was... Still. Playing. From.... The... Phone Well you broke out the window and also grabbed some snacks, food, lighters and most importantly yes you stole the cat that was starving in the shop and fed it. You came back to your brother with everything and he was relieved because you were gone for 4 hours thinking you died. 3 likes for part 2
0:01 wowoOwoWwOowOoo... Also; POV. You're listening to this in the bath, with no one home, and you know its only 1:37 pm, but you're exhausted, and the water is lukewarm because you just didn't want to leave, and time slowly ticks by, until you are left motionless, as the video repeats for the 37th time...in bliss. That was just what my brain came up with while listening so ya.
I like listening to weirdcore dreamcore playlists in the shower with the lights off :) I can still see cause of a nightlight in the bathroom but it's really nice
i remember this one time i had a dream when i was around 10. i was in my house, except it was distorted. there was a balcony all around it, rooms were missing and new ones were added, it was even snowing. i remember walking into a new room and seeing teddy bears to play with while my sister and her friends talked. i went over to play with them and as soon as i did the teddy bears started beating me and dragging me across the floor. ii tried to shout to my sister but she didnt care. once i set myself free i asked her why she didnt help and she said that i should fend for myself. i got annoyed and started walking away before we realized it was snowing. my sister and her friends went through her room which had drastically changed. it had stairs leading to the snow and a sliding door. they all went ahead while i entered the room. i suddenly saw something glitch in the corner of my eye and everything went cold. i turned around knowing i was gonna get killed. in the behind the door frame, something glitched from side to side visciously before suddenly calming down. it was still glitching but not from side to side. the figure looked like a girl wearing a blue skirt and a pink top with a blonde bob and doll shoes, the same girl who was my imaginery friend from when i was 4. . . she looked angry at me, as if forgetting her had made her go crazy. her eyes were pitch black and her outfit seemed broken. . . a sudden ringing came to my ears and i knew she was going to try and kill me. in a panic i turned around. i heard her make a blood curdling scream before running full speed towards me and sending a cold shiver up my spine. . . i woke up after that but was still shaky. sorry that this is so long and if there are any spelling mistakes :( her name was taffy btw, she was my best friend and was always better than me
You made me remember my old imaginary friend- mindy.. She, just had a casual outfit, and looks like me. brown, short hair a long sleeved hoodie blue jeans, blue socks (i somehow remember it) i was always with her, worried, (for some reason). she strangely looks like how i am now, even though i looked way different back then-
1. this type of music reminds me of a dream i had possibly a year ago. i was in a colourful play area, with a big jumpy castle, and i fell down it, but all i could see was the bright coloured castle and around it was beige walls that were like cement and it was all pitch black darkness from there. i woke up with a huge gast of *air noises within my ear and i woke up in cold sweat. 2. Another dream I had was that i was in a weird house with no furniture but it was like a village, and there was a black cat that turned into a lady, she was tall in a white gown, with black long hair and a floppy hat (thats what it looked like) and she was my dads "secret wife?" and i remember walking into a town, but its like i could control my dream. i was walking around and i knew my way around. and i remember that tall woman being around me all the time. and i found myself into a dark alleyway and she was there near a dark carnival game. then my dream ended. (i have this dream every year. ive had it 2x now.) 3. another dream i had was outside in the winter time. everything was just snow and snowy trees leading up a snowy stone path with a cabin. i walked up the path and i heard a faint baby cry, (which scared tf out of me) and while i walked up to the cabin porch, it was locked. and above me was a long post thing with wires and there was a white owl perched ontop, and it stayed there. silent, and i looked away and it flew away. and then i ran into the forest as stuff flew at me and the dream ended. 4. this is another dream i had. i was in a dark forest with a log cabin and it was dark. it was nightime and i could hear crickets loud. and when i say loud i mean loud. and i heard a horse coming towards me. it was a dark brown with a black muzzle type of thing. my dream skipped a bit and i was ontop of the horse and it walked down this path as i heard loud noises from behind and the horse picked up its speed and i remember looking back and something was chasing us but it wasnt visible. and i got so scared i woke up and yeah, those are some of the weird dreams ive had.
my opinion on these "liminal spaces" is, that everybody feels it different. for example someone finds it boring or uncomfortable, but on the other side, someone can find it interesting, beatiful and nostalgic. i am the type of person that finds it incredibly nostalgic and it actually triggers a leitmotif in my head. when i walk around a mall or a parking lot with my family, then i feel something that my family doesnt feel at that moment, i feel nostalgia and liminality.
This reminds me of some of those weird recurring life dreams. Where I seem to have the same dream every few years but with slightly different outcomes that grow up with me and get weirder as I get older.
I've had that happen to me too. Scariest thing my mind had ever dreamt up. I had it once when I was younger, and then I had it again 10 years later. Still as terrifying as the first time I had it.
@@sploomfussy When I was younger, every few months I had a dream about Santa coming towards me and shouting, "No more Christmas!" and then knocking me out causing me to wake up. But now I don't have that dream anymore
@@CrimsonDawn-ou4og oh damn, that sounds pretty horrifying! mine was always the same dream of starting my computer and it glitching out, making a horrible error noise, and then i woke up. i think it was just my unconsciousness reminding me to install antivirus irl or something LMAOOO
My theroy is that you expect to dream of it again causing it to “manifest” into your dreams. Memoriesof dreams get distorted really easy so maybe thats why theres different outcomes. Idk wtf i just said im high asf hopefully this doesnt look like letter salad loll
I kind of want to put this here so I can get things off my mind. So you don't worry about needing to read it. 😁 I feel like I'm metaphorically in the liminal space. I've recently left college and haven't gotten a job yet. I guess I've been too afraid that I'll choose the wrong path so I've been avoiding getting one (pathetic I know). I feel like I'm standing in front of a bunch of hallways where the destination is unclear, with several branching paths too afraid to go forward because I'm afraid of choosing the wrong path. Some hallways I may not even see as of yet. It's rather draining tbh like I'm stuck with no clear idea of a way out of here. For those who like tarot, it's similar to the 7 of cups (if I remember correctly). Maybe that's why I've been listening to Dreamcore/Weirdcore playlists recently. It's kind of hard to explain why. Btw when I say Dreamcore/Weirdcore, I don't neccisary mean the creepier parts as much, but more of the nostalgic/melancholy playlists. I've been stuck like this since September (well, I guess technically since August, but definitely September, so quite a few months at least). Anyways, I think that's all I have to say so far. Thank you if you finished reading this, even if you just end up scrolling past and not saying anything, I'm glad that you at least read what I have to say. I hope that if you're also feeling this way that you're able to find the right path towards a happier future! Have a wonderful day 😁
The part when you said it’s draining, I immediately understood, for me it’s like a sinking feeling that keeps me warm that y just don’t want let go of , it makes me feel empty but it’s nice cause it gives me company and right now things are a bit tough and I just don’t know what to do what choice to make so I just stay where I am and don’t want to keep going forward. I hope you understand what I mean and have a nice day.
this just made me remember a dream i had a while back So a little over a year ago my tabby cat named Taki had to be put down because he was unlucky. Now for the dream. I have a loft bed and I woke up in it, then i walked down the stairs and looked to the right. (where my sliding door closet is. now keep in mind i don’t have doors on it anymore i took them off. so it’s a empty nook.) and then i saw my alive cat named dustey and taki snuggling together. i started bawling then woke up. Dustey was in the same spot sleeping. I still continue to think about that dream. I have had dreams of my baby taki ever since he passed and it’s a complete emotional rollercoaster.
That reminds me of my family. All of them were murdered. I came back from summer camp and was so excited to see my family. Then I noticed something was off. The door was cracked. So I walked in calling for mom, and there was no noise. I immediately went upstairs and saw something that changed my life forever. Some sicko murdered my family. And want to know what he left? A note. It said hope you enjoy. They caught him 5 years later...
I hope im not the only one here, but do also feel that as you listen to those songs that certain sounds, beats and notes just hit right in you "music bone" but somehow this genre of music just sits between eargasm and weird? And its just unpredictable, and you cant wait for a new sound to pop in??? I really hope im making sense here, idk
I can't stop listening to 7:06 song😍.It feels like my brain is sleeping and I'm going crazy, it's so nice. How beautifully the speed changes in this melody😵💫!
i spent a little while creating a liminal playlist, tell me what you think ^^ (the song names are all in the description) ruclips.net/video/P9KFwk6uoa4/видео.html
I genuinely love this playlist so much. I listened when I was in a bad mood, while doing schoolwork and even while I painted. This playlist has the entire vibe of a playground liminal space which is packed with sorrowful nostalgia while also keeping the childish playful vibe that other dreamcore/weirdcore playlists don't really have; therefore making this one so much better to listen to honestly. This is a long-winded comment but even then it doesn't encapsulate how much this playlist means to me.
Everyone is missing! It’s been 7 months, I’m scared hungry.. I’ve ran .. I’ve searched, it’s just a deep dark bubble forcing me to leave to.. I do not know how to be ok… it’s growing on me.. I’m finally alone, I don’t know if it’s what’s driving me insane or if it’s pushing me towards sanity.. It’s been 3 in a half years.. the world is dark, dead even worse, dreadful.. I go to places I used to enjoy, it’s hallow, henois hallways.. Seeing it empty…it’s filled me with despair.. a depression
To me, this music and the accompanying images so perfectly encapsulate what it's like to feel disconnected from others. To know that others are around you, promising you they love and care about you, and yet to still feel so alone, like you could die tomorrow and those same people who promised you the world would move on like nothing happened, finally free of the emotionally heavy burden you dropped on their shoulders. And maybe they would. Maybe in death, you wouldn't have to think about it anymore.
The first picture was definitely nostalgic to me as when I was a kid I loved that style and would imagine myself on hot sunny nights flying over London on my bed, also the background gives me a sense of comfort!
i honestly love liminal spaces lol. like although you’re alone in a big space, atleast you get to relive nostalgia of being here. and sometimes you havent even been there- you just feel like youve touched a memory from your last life.
Welp, 3 years since this was uploaded.. kinda shocking honestly. I've recently been coming back to some of these older videos that I used to watch so much, specifically through 2021 and most of 2022. I remember that I was gonna comment something on this specific video a few days before Christmas Eve of 2022, but I was so unconfident in myself that I never did. I thought at the time that the "liminal genre" itself was basically dead, and that I would be stupid for commenting anything. I have since then grown to appreciate things (videos like these for example) no matter if they are popular at the time or not. My sentiment is that it is okay to like whatever, and that no interests are better than others. If you're reading this and you feel the way that I did, I hope this mindset helps. Just wanted to share.❤
@@lonelyrain5480 Yeah I love them too, I was probably just overthinking things before then. But anyways, it doesn't matter lol- we can still cherish them.
I don't remember exactly but I was 8 or 9 years old. My mother had a cerebral hemorrhage. I started having different dreams at night. For some reason, this playlist reminded me of them and I wanted to share it: It was very dark around, I remember being in a small room, I seemed to hear my mother's voice, there was no one else in the room but me, so where did this voice come from? Was it really my mother speaking? was i dreaming? Didn't my mother actually have a cerebral hemorrhage? So why was I having such a dream? strangely I felt like I belonged here and when I got up there was a eerie feeling My first language is not English, I may have mistakes, thank you for reading
"When we fall asleep, where do we actually go? where is exactly a dream? can we find it? why do we forget always about what we had dream while sleep? why do we existed for if one day we will still get vanished in this world?"
these make me so happy and unsettled inside! i love liminal spaces because of the unsettled feeling they give me, and this playlist emanates the feelings liminal spaces give me
y'all done don't know how happy I am that they included Graviel and Windows96 THANK YOUUU I love them sm and I'm so happy they're finally receiving recognition!!
I stopped liking the weirdcore style a little while ago, since it kinda made me feel slightly weird mentally and made me creeped out abt alot of things, but this is a rlly cool weirdcore playlist :)
Liminal Spaces are so...how do I put this? Fascinating. Especially the areas that look to be meant for kids, i get that latched feeling that I've been in that room, yet I don't recall ever being there to begin with.
I've had this dream once that was really weird, but I still liked it in a way. It started off with me chasing my physics teacher, he was running from me for some reason.(I was studying physics a lot at the time, so it probably had something to do with that) As I was chasing him, I reached this stairway. It was your normal stairway like one in an apartment complex, accept the walls were completely white, almost glowing. And the railing of the stairs was this fancy metallic look, with a wooden handle ( I don't remember if that was accurate, though). The stairs were completely white as well, the teacher went down the stairs faster than me, then somehow after a couple of steps I was able to slide down the stairs...as I was sliding down, the railing was slowly starting to dissappear and not like fading away kind of dissappear, but more like just vanished after sliding down further. So, I kept sliding and stopping since there was a platform after each set of stairs. Finally, I reached a door, and it was wooden with a decorative glass window. The handle was the long kind it looked very pretty it was metallic as well. When I reached that door, it was already opened, so I assumed the teacher probably already went through, so I entered, and there was this fancy hallway with a lot of doors on them, theres this one door that I distinctly remember that had a poster on it saying "anne 198 or 195" something like that, it was written in cursive thick red letters. And it had an autumn forest in the background. The door was also wooden, and the poster was on the frame of the door. I didn't enter this door immediately as I decided to explore a little since I was looking for the teacher, and he seemed to have gone in a different direction. I continued to walk down the hallway, and I don't really remember how it looked exactly, but what I do remember is how the overall scene looked like. The hallway was similar to the stairway except with a more dim lighting, more like a sunset lighting, and there were these pink persian carpets on the floor, with the occasional chandeliers. At the end of the hallway was this gorgeous reception that had 2 stores on top. The stores had this ceramic railing, and the area was square shaped. In the center, there was a giant pink persian carpet with, of course, a giant chandelier. Back to the door, I didn't want to get lost, so I wandered around for a bit, just to get an overall idea of how my surroundings were. Finally, I went through the door. It was a cramped living room with a big rectangular window. The couch was on the right side of the room, it was made of leather (light brown), and beside it was an old record player with a bunch of records stacked on top of each other. The record player was playing a song, but I couldn't recognize it, here's where it gets weird. When I looked outside the rectangular window, I saw it was winter, but the scene looked ....off ..like it wasn't snowing, but you could see snow on the weird shaped hills kind of like how a kid would draw it, there was an ice skating rink but no one was skating on it and it seemed to be a bit concave in the middle and there were some humps on the sides. I went out of the room, and I don't remember much but when I went back in there was this old lady staring through the window, she was wearing a black attire with a black scarf on her head her teeth seemed like it hadn't been brushed for long time. She was trying to tell me something along the lines of "this place is bad and you shouldn't be here" kind of vibes. Needless to say, I got scared and ran out of the room. I don't remember what happened after that, but I think that's when I woke up I loved the esthetic through. In the end, I wasn't able to find the physics teacher :')
One of my favorite playlists. Replayed it so many times and never got tired listening to every song because it just reminds me of dreams and images and places I've seen when I was younger. Damn.
0:00 // WARM NIGHTS - XORI // ADDITION: SLOW + REVERB // You come home from a tiring day of school, and stomp into your room. You toss your backpack aside and collapse on your bed. In a couple of minutes, your eyes feel heavy, and you fall asleep. 2:04 // HEY KIDS - MOLINA // ADDITION: 8D // You immediately jump up. You're a̶w̶a̶k̶e̶ dreaming. It's odd, almost unnerving. The place is... to say the least, not even close to understandable. Unsteady. Incomprehensible. Every corner and wall is uneven but also growing in size. The room is covered in a pattern of polka-dots, while there is a hallway in-front of you. Hallway. You feel the sudden urge to walk into it. This is only the beginning of your n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ journey. 7:05 // DRIVE - DREAMCORP // As you walk down the hallway, it changes. The lighting and size fluctuates every couple minutes. How long is this hallway anyways? You're very tired and almost consider going back to where you started. But then, a light shines. Is it.. the end of the hallway? You're almost there. You run to it, using the little energy you have left to get to the end. You run into the light, noises and colors flying past you. ... 9:10 // THER - GAVRIEL // You're still falling. The colors and sounds are really relaxing. You wait as you fall for e̶t̶e̶r̶n̶i̶t̶y̶ a while. Then, you see something in the distance. Water? ... .. 12:08 // FAT CAT - PILOTREDSUN // You w̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶u̶p̶ from the blackout after falling into the giant pool. It's an indoor pool, definitely for kids. Vibrant colors and colorful cartoonish characters, this place is nice. It gives you a slight feeling of nostalgia, but also an unnerving, anxious feeling that someone is watching you, ready to strike. You play at the park for a while, but then start to wonder how you even got here, and why this place is so clean. You see some colorful doors under the water, people don't care about designs anymore, do they? You dive under the water quickly and open one of the doors... 16:32 // DEEP SWIM - WINDOWS 96 // You open the door to an even deeper pool. But for some reason, you didn't have to hold your breath. The water avoided your lungs, it was an odd sensation. You then reminded yourself to start exploring. You decide to swim into the weirdly purple water. It was nice, weirdly colored fish, though. Goldfish in a pool? They're not even gold.. teal...fish? And how are they even alive. Whatever, everything was so confusing. You saw another door, and decide to go to it, and open it. 20:49 // BROWSER HISTORY - GRAHAM KARTNA // The other door opens, and its a grassy hill with a blue sky and clouds in the background. Wait.. background? For some reason, the purple pool water isnt flooding in here. It's almost like a barrier is stopping it. Besides thinking of how that's even scientifically possible, there's a small computer on the other side of the hill. You walk over to it, and notice some more fish in the sky. You look down at the computer, and see a plush on top of it. It's pretty cute. You decide to pick it up and take it with you for support. Then, you spot something in the distance. A tamagotchi! You loved playing with these all the time. You feel...sad. It's weird, really. You s̶h̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶h̶a̶p̶p̶y̶.̶ need time to think. Suddenly, a path opens up, and you follow closely behind. 23:08 // SNOW VALLEY - YUME NIKKI OST // ADDITION: SLOW + REVERB // The area around you eventually turns into a forest of snow. Lanterns luminate the still growing path every now and then. It's very peaceful. It's blue hour, and it makes you feel a lot less tense. You don't feel the cool frozen night air. There's no animals calling, it's dead silent, besides your breath and the crunching of the snow between your shoes. The path slowly starts transitioning again. 27:33 // NEVERMIND, EVERYTHING'S OK - DREAMCORP // You end up in a waiting room. The smell of the fresh air hits your nose, you feel calm. Nobody is there. Yet again, dead silent, except for the ticking of the wall clock. It's giving you that nauseous feeling of whenever you went to the dentist. You sit down and see one of those wooden bead maze things. You go over, and play with it for a while. You stop after you hear a door open. "They will see you now." A deep, dark voice cuts sharply through the silence. You slowly walk over to the door, curious but also hesitant. You decide it was for the best and you go through. 30:41 // HAZY TRIP - WINDOWS 96 // You walk into a mall, it looks run down. Badly. You look around, but everything was closed. How are the lights still working? You walk down the no longer working escalator, but then your foot touches water. You look down and see that the mall was flooded with water. You see sharks and immediately go back up, staying a good length away from the water and it's sharks lurking it in. This is really weird. You go back up the escalator, but a tile falls where you rested your foot. You loose balance and fall into the void. 34:01 // STILL LIFE - SITCOM // It's a void. It's scary. You don't like this. You just want to go home, but it isn't that easy. Y̶o̶u̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶g̶o̶ ̶h̶o̶m̶e̶. You look for something to stand on. Suddenly, a floor magically appears under your feet. A place is being built right in front of your eyes. 37:22 // WARSAW - PILOTREDSUN // It was a neighborhood. You looked around as it was slowly being pieced together, almost as if it was a puzzle. You looked up, and felt fear strike your body. Giant, void silhouettes were building the houses. It was terrifying. You ran into a house quickly, the stare at the beast was unnerving. The air was very tight. You went inside the house and it was dark. It looked dead, and unfinished. No matter how hard it tried to look like a comforting, strong house, it was useless. 41:36 // RAIN - JACK STAUBER // You sat down to think about yourself. You were failing in life. School was bad, everything was bad. All you wanted to do was to be better, but you didn't know how. You thought you were doing it right, but it obviously didn't work. Nothing changed, you didn't feel better, you weren't better. It filled you with even more devastation. This was sad. You're sad. 42:11 // SLEEP - DREAMCORP // You sit in the house, until everything goes black, and you wake up. It was 11pm, but that didn't matter. How do you get better in life? It felt like you were stuck in the ground. You felt hopeless. You turn on your computer and decide to get on Club Penguin. You need something to distract yourself. Everything will be fine eventually.
This was my introduction to dream core can’t believe it’s only been a year it feels like I first saw this video decades ago thank you for showing me this wonderful aesthetic I may have never know about it otherwise. 💙
Warm nights [slowed + reverb], Hey kids (8D version) and Snow valley (slowed + reverb) are definitely my favorite. They make me feel calm. Ty strange and weird songs. :) Edit: forgot to say ty 11crows for the entertainment! You have made the perfect playlist for me!
I'm glad you got out of that mindset!! I once had those thoughts, and it broke me down from the inside... I found an obsession (Spooky Month by Sr Pelo) and it took my mind off of those depressing and self deprecating thoughts. you gotta find the things you love (or people) and distract yourself with it. make yourself feel loved. ❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤❤❤❤❤❤🩹 i hope you are having a very good and blessed life, and i hope you are doing well. best wishes from a stranger.
too add to the dream thing, so i was in what looked like a very small room like take a regular closet and split it in half, there was no entrance nor exit l i was sitting in a dining room stool with a small table and a 1990s computer in front of me witch was the only light in the room on the screen was what seemed to be a recording of me that had never been filmed it was a video of me sitting im my room typing on a keyboard with no computer attached to it and staring at a pich black wall with all of the other walls being white and with a few men in the room with me, one of the walls seemed to be a window in witch outside there was a large porch and a small floating light bulb and on the porch there was a white glowing translucent couple square dancing as i looked more there was smaller ones dancing around the big couple then out of nowhere i began to float up slowly then extreamally fast i tried and tried to wake up i knew it was a dream i knew i had to wake up it felt as i was being held down to the pillow i was resting on this went on for a while and i finnaly woke up and the last thing i remebered from being awake was staring at my celing for a split second then- nothing i remeber nothing...
I like listening to these during the mornings in my first period. Idk why, but this type of music eases that existential feeling I get in the morning. Instead of wondering how I'll get through life, I just calm down and accept life for what it is

The word "liminal" comes from the Latin word “limen,” which means threshold. To be in a liminal space means . You can be in a liminal space physically, emotionally, or metaphorically. Being in a liminal space can be incredibly uncomfortable for most people.
really?
It's the oposite for me i think its quite confortable but i dont know why
I would find it really boring
i would love to be in a liminal space but i cant :(
Well this is what its feeling like for me, emotionally in one. Thoughts that are supposed to pass by stay
Just like liminal spaces, spaces you pass by but never really stay in

I think I love liminal spaces because of how honest they are. Life truly is transient, one big quiet elevator we wait in while reflecting on our past and wondering about our future, taking us somewhere. The feelings of departing and arriving are just whisperings of those experiences, we're always in the space between both, and I feel the truth of that gives me a lightness, a subtle comfort.
Thats true..thats true :)
The lack of overused songs makes it even more surreal
i love how the song 'hey kids' moves from ear to ear
Me too, for a sec I thought I was trippin though
It's called Stereo :) 😎
why the fuck did it "tickle"
it's an 8D audio, so it does that. If you listen to other music with 8D audio it will produce similar effects.
yep, its called 8d
That’s when I woke up.
dang i wish i had a dream like that
or at least was in your dream
what an interesting dream
I shall tell you about my dream!
HELP!!" and the last one is where I meet some crazy girl swinging on the nets above where you go into to the soft play area and she keeps on saying "I'm gassy" "smell my farts!" And I replied "ew!" And moved on

"I'm here to keep you safe and protect you in this place."
So I allowed it to come with me.
I know you can make it!"
So I kept going, jumping from beam to beam, trying not to fall into the burning house below me.
We're safe together now."
This lasted for a bit, before I was put back down.
I asked about the doors, and if I should go through them. They said yes, so I began to walk towards them, but the guardian didn't follow. It just stood there. I asked why it wasn't coming with me, and it told me "I can't come with you, as much as I want to. I have to stay here. You should go, but maybe we'll meet again some time."
So I just walked through the doors. I don't remember anything else, and I think I woke up afterwards.
So yeah, that's my weird, liminal space dream. I hope you enjoyed reading it lol.
I would've loved to have a dream like this. It sounds eerie but exciting.
@@LunaSaph It definitely was eerie at points, but still pretty interesting.

@@plankroo8402 Aren't we all.
ayooo my name's Naomi as well :0
i don't know if this counts as liminal space or something probably weirdcore or dreamcore, but i had something similar, let me just copy paste one of my diary entries (little bit modified because why not)
but, there lies a place, untouched by my version of reality but i had a feeling i have set foot there at least once. that place, has no name. no, it does not require a name. a huge house in the middle of a forest in autumn, yellow leaves all over the ground, trees as far as the eye can see when i took a glance out of the window. there lies an old bike underneath it, and a spiral stairs behind me.
"if it's just a dream, then why does it feels so real? even a certain melodies could invoke their presence."
whether that "big house in the middle of an autumn forest" might be real, or not. it's a place that i felt strangely nostalgic, feels like an unknown entity trying to welcome me, that place feels like something to me. but the more i tried to remember, the more i tried to think, that place seem to become more and more hostile, wanting me to revisit them for one more time. i dread just to think about it. it's best if i never visit nor think about them anymore, feels like a backrooms. honestly, this writing does not give my uneasiness vague some sort of shape, feels as if something amiss from the past slowly swallowing me.
i want to be there, but once i was there, i know there's no going back. i once heard someone playing la campanella in a piano and it reminds me of that, and this playlist too, reminded me of that.
This actually makes me feel so.. safe?
safe, hopeful, but also watched
this aesthetic always gave me unexplainable vibes, and i love it

Ig ima type a story that fits in with this song bc its what i am
Part 1
You wake up in your bed and you look around you see no one so you tried calling your mother.
ring ring
You hear her ringtone in your pocket and you decline the call. When the call screen came off you see her notepad so you open and you read it.
"Son you need to get out of here go to the park ill tell you what to do after"
After you read the note you went by the door but you saw her decapitated head.
But... It... Was... Still. Playing. From.... The... Phone
Well you broke out the window and also grabbed some snacks, food, lighters and most importantly yes you stole the cat that was starving in the shop and fed it. You came back to your brother with everything and he was relieved because you were gone for 4 hours thinking you died.

I literally took a bath like 20 minutes ago listening to liminal space music, glad i am not alone
i remember this one time i had a dream when i was around 10. i was in my house, except it was distorted. there was a balcony all around it, rooms were missing and new ones were added, it was even snowing. i remember walking into a new room and seeing teddy bears to play with while my sister and her friends talked. i went over to play with them and as soon as i did the teddy bears started beating me and dragging me across the floor. ii tried to shout to my sister but she didnt care. once i set myself free i asked her why she didnt help and she said that i should fend for myself. i got annoyed and started walking away before we realized it was snowing. my sister and her friends went through her room which had drastically changed. it had stairs leading to the snow and a sliding door. they all went ahead while i entered the room. i suddenly saw something glitch in the corner of my eye and everything went cold. i turned around knowing i was gonna get killed. in the behind the door frame, something glitched from side to side visciously before suddenly calming down. it was still glitching but not from side to side. the figure looked like a girl wearing a blue skirt and a pink top with a blonde bob and doll shoes, the same girl who was my imaginery friend from when i was 4. . . she looked angry at me, as if forgetting her had made her go crazy. her eyes were pitch black and her outfit seemed broken. . . a sudden ringing came to my ears and i knew she was going to try and kill me. in a panic i turned around. i heard her make a blood curdling scream before running full speed towards me and sending a cold shiver up my spine. . . i woke up after that but was still shaky.
sorry that this is so long and if there are any spelling mistakes :( her name was taffy btw, she was my best friend and was always better than me
You made me remember my old imaginary friend- mindy.. She, just had a casual outfit, and looks like me.
brown, short hair
a long sleeved hoodie
blue jeans,
blue socks (i somehow remember it)
i was always with her, worried, (for some reason).
she strangely looks like how i am now, even though i looked way different back then-
Damn... what a dream :/ Thanks for sharing though, it was a good read :)
That's why I never forget or ignore my imaginary friends
Oh shit, that turned nightmarish
1. this type of music reminds me of a dream i had possibly a year ago. i was in a colourful play area, with a big jumpy castle, and i fell down it, but all i could see was the bright coloured castle and around it was beige walls that were like cement and it was all pitch black darkness from there. i woke up with a huge gast of *air noises within my ear and i woke up in cold sweat.
(i have this dream every year. ive had it 2x now.)
3. another dream i had was outside in the winter time. everything was just snow and snowy trees leading up a snowy stone path with a cabin. i walked up the path and i heard a faint baby cry, (which scared tf out of me) and while i walked up to the cabin porch, it was locked. and above me was a long post thing with wires and there was a white owl perched ontop, and it stayed there. silent, and i looked away and it flew away. and then i ran into the forest as stuff flew at me and the dream ended.
4. this is another dream i had. i was in a dark forest with a log cabin and it was dark. it was nightime and i could hear crickets loud. and when i say loud i mean loud. and i heard a horse coming towards me. it was a dark brown with a black muzzle type of thing. my dream skipped a bit and i was ontop of the horse and it walked down this path as i heard loud noises from behind and the horse picked up its speed and i remember looking back and something was chasing us but it wasnt visible. and i got so scared i woke up and yeah, those are some of the weird dreams ive had.
noice!
my opinion on these "liminal spaces" is, that everybody feels it different. for example someone finds it boring or uncomfortable, but on the other side, someone can find it interesting, beatiful and nostalgic.
i am the type of person that finds it incredibly nostalgic and it actually triggers a leitmotif in my head. when i walk around a mall or a parking lot with my family, then i feel something that my family doesnt feel at that moment, i feel nostalgia and liminality.
I love the way the first song sounds... As well as how the video is formatted visually is unique imo.
Still as terrifying as the first time I had it.
wait im not the only one? I used to have very specific nightmares during night terrors as a kid and now im having them again lmao
I feel like I'm metaphorically in the liminal space.
Have a wonderful day 😁
Did you ever find a job/career path?
The part when you said it’s draining, I immediately understood, for me it’s like a sinking feeling that keeps me warm that y just don’t want let go of , it makes me feel empty but it’s nice cause it gives me company and right now things are a bit tough and I just don’t know what to do what choice to make so I just stay where I am and don’t want to keep going forward.
I hope you understand what I mean and have a nice day.
this just made me remember a dream i had a while back
So a little over a year ago my tabby cat named Taki had to be put down because he was unlucky.
I have had dreams of my baby taki ever since he passed and it’s a complete emotional rollercoaster.
it means you're still heavily greiving over the cat, and that maybe its time for you to let things go and accept hes gone. im sorry my love.
I have a loft bed -
That reminds me of my family. They caught him 5 years later...
during deep swim, i just randomly unlocked a memory i dont think i had, this playlist makes me feel something.
Yeah I agree :)

Most people seem to be uncomfortable with these but idk why I'm pretty good with them.
OH MY GOD IM SO GLAD YOU USED THESE SONGS NEVER DELETE THIS ❤️
The first picture was definitely nostalgic to me as when I was a kid I loved that style and would imagine myself on hot sunny nights flying over London on my bed, also the background gives me a sense of comfort!
this playlist literally just comforts me, ily for who ever made this
i honestly love liminal spaces lol.
like although you’re alone in a big space, atleast you get to relive nostalgia of being here.
and sometimes you havent even been there- you just feel like youve touched a memory from your last life.
Just wanted to share.❤
also these songs are bangers tho fr
I think around 2023 is when the liminal spaces died off. It's sad to see something die but I still love the spaces lol

I don't remember exactly but I was 8 or 9 years old. My mother had a cerebral hemorrhage. I started having different dreams at night. For some reason, this playlist reminded me of them and I wanted to share it:
It was very dark around, I remember being in a small room, I seemed to hear my mother's voice, there was no one else in the room but me, so where did this voice come from? Was it really my mother speaking? was i dreaming? Didn't my mother actually have a cerebral hemorrhage? So why was I having such a dream? strangely I felt like I belonged here and when I got up there was a eerie feeling

Some people find liminality threatening or off-putting, I just find comfort in it.
Liminal Spaces are so...how do I put this? Fascinating. Especially the areas that look to be meant for kids, i get that latched feeling that I've been in that room, yet I don't recall ever being there to begin with.

its cool seeing v a p o r w a v e sorta get a 2nd wave with this liminal subgenre
This playlist is very enjoyable is just for some reason there is an ad after every single song and sometimes during a song so it kills the vibe 😢😢
When I looked outside the rectangular window, I saw it was winter, but the scene looked ....off
..like it wasn't snowing, but you could see snow on the weird shaped hills kind of like how a kid would draw it, there was an ice skating rink but no one was skating on it and it seemed to be a bit concave in the middle and there were some humps on the sides. I don't remember what happened after that, but I think that's when I woke up
I loved the esthetic through. In the end, I wasn't able to find the physics teacher :')
this makes me feel a kind of way i dont like but im happy im feeling it
Sometimes these musics, specially “Warm Nights”, make me feel like I am living just another memory and nothing is really real

warm nights always brings a sense of comfort to me ♥
0:00 // WARM NIGHTS - XORI // ADDITION: SLOW + REVERB // You come home from a tiring day of school, and stomp into your room.
This makes me feel things i didnt know I could feel
Its what being high feels like but being high is even more weird feeling. It brings you back to emotions you havent felt since you were an infant
Edit: forgot to say ty 11crows for the entertainment! You have made the perfect playlist for me!
the mixing on the second song is so cool woah
I'M SO GLAD MY FRIEND SENDED ME THIS!!!
This is my new favorite playlist right now. Its helped me get over suicidal thoughts and anxiety, and I thank you so much for it.
How can this masterpiece be uncomfortable for many? this is considered an art!
Fantastic playlist! slept to this and that like the best dream of my life, thank you so much for uploading!
glad it helped you sleep < 333
For those that can't hear the panning of Hey Kids, Try going into your system's sounds and turn OFF mono sound.

Lo dreamcore me tranquiliza me encanta este lado de internet💕
too add to the dream thing,
so i was in what looked like a very small room like take a regular closet and split it in half, there was no entrance nor exit l i was sitting in a dining room stool with a small table and a 1990s computer in front of me witch was the only light in the room on the screen was what seemed to be a recording of me that had never been filmed it was a video of me sitting im my room typing on a keyboard with no computer attached to it and staring at a pich black wall with all of the other walls being white and with a few men in the room with me, one of the walls seemed to be a window in witch outside there was a large porch and a small floating light bulb and on the porch there was a white glowing translucent couple square dancing as i looked more there was smaller ones dancing around the big couple then out of nowhere i began to float up slowly then extreamally fast i tried and tried to wake up i knew it was a dream i knew i had to wake up it felt as i was being held down to the pillow i was resting on this went on for a while and i finnaly woke up and the last thing i remebered from being awake was staring at my celing for a split second then- nothing i remeber nothing...
how could u can remember this and text it to youtube?
AHHHHH THIS IS SO GOOD!!! 💕✨
I like listening to these during the mornings in my first period. Idk why, but this type of music eases that existential feeling I get in the morning. Instead of wondering how I'll get through life, I just calm down and accept life for what it is
I can’t believe this you posted this on my birthday thank you
9:10 Gavriel - ther is easily the best one of the bunch. It sounds like how interdimensional candy tastes.
