  • Historically, America’s marijuana and alcohol policies developed independently, but each one buttressed the other’s salutary effects. Today, an increase in the number of marijuana users has led to an increase in the number of marijuana-impaired or marijuana- and alcohol-impaired drivers. Society needs to be able to take steps to prevent medical and recreational marijuana initiatives from increasing the mortality and morbidity that alcohol-impaired driving already imposes. Join us for a half-day conference to discuss this important health and safety issue with some of the leading experts in this field.

This was an interesting video. Don't be dismayed by the drug addicts that may give it a downvote. Keep up the good work.

Well this is bull shit. Pot may lead to failing to obey speed limits on the down side.

NO, it is not. Marijuana use can cause a driver to drive faster than he or she is able under it's influence due to it being in his or her system. It also caused lack of ability to comprehend the meanings of warning signs. Reaction time is always diminished and ignored when under the influence. They are equally if not more so to drivers under the influence of alcohol. No amount of denial will change the facts!

Rex Whitmer those are not facts, it is just shit you made up. You clearly failed to engage in the normal high school activity of smoking pot and have zero practical experience .

No Rog. I spent fifteen years in a state prison as a counselor. Had a lot of heart to heart conversations with convicted persons. While Marijuana is supposedly not addictive, persons, especially persons lacking self control and discipline ;use it as a crutch. Some just use if to make themselves feel out of the situation. In a good many more, it affects their reasoning abilities and releases self control. While I personally have never used the substance, I've had a whole lot of discussions of persons whom did use it and blamed their behavior on it.

Rex Whitmer that sounds like a lame excuse for being a bad person. But we must agree to disagree on this subject.

Rog volley How is it bullshit? Impaired driving is more dangerous no matter what intoxicant you use. If marijuana didn't do that then most people wouldn't use it.
