Larry Katz and Adam Fischer - The Katz Tapes

Larry Katz started his professional career playing bass. That evolved into writing about music for Boston papers like the Globe and the Herald. Then Katz became the Herald's music writer for bands coming to town. Over the next quarter of a century, Larry interviewed everyone who came through town from Nina Simone to Tom Petty. During this time, Larry conducted, recorded and wrote from the 1000+ interviews he gathered.

Adam Ficher and Jorgy Cruz went to work with Larry's archive. They created a short documentary called "The Katz Tapes." The documentary is fantastic. The collection of music is so vast, the characters so rich, the archive is now housed at Northwestern.
