I have used google forms for a while, buit found that it didn't offer the features I need as I regularly create surveys for my course. I have taken to using another free survey platform a1surveys.com which is working our really well. I'm finding it far easier to manage the surveys and extract the reports.
I am not a coder and following this video was my very first experience editing code. Those of you who are experiencing code errors, you have created a typo somewhere in the code he provided during your editing process. I have created 3 separate surveys using the exact code he provided that have worked perfectly. And thank you Miguel for putting this together!

Unfortunately, the email/script did not work for me I am not receiving the responses in my email (followed all your instructions) but you did make it easy to do the form so thank you. I would suggest making a newer video as some of access points in google forms has changed (example trigger info and authorization).

I was able to successfully complete a survey by following this video. However, I do have a suggestion for future tutorials. Remember that not everyone watching your videos is as experienced or proficient as you are. I struggled to see how you got to certain commands. For example, you would say something like "Next do such and such ..." but you failed to mention HOW you got to the next page/optoin, like "Click the three little dots in the lower left ..." or whatever. I would have to rewind, sometimes over and over, to catch your quick Click to discover how to get there. Toward the end (of the survey part -- I haven't yet delved into the script editor stuff), I wished that I had chosen a different tutorial but, by then, I was too invested and almost finished. Thanks, anyway -- mission accomplished -- but I hope you will consider my input.
Hiya, I worked it all out (Google sheets has changed slightly and 'Apps Script' seems to be where all the code is kept now!). However, I didn't get an email when I tested this. I'm getting a few syntax errors in my script such as this, which may be the cause: 'Syntax error: SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token line: 93 file: Code.gs' Any idea how I can solve this?
Hi Rob, Syntax error is that your code is not written properly. You may be missing a close bracket or comma in your code somewhere. Alternatively, these days you can use a tool like Zapier to trigger emails from Google Forms after a submission. Zapier requires no coding.

My pleasure! - Did you give enable permissions on the submit trigger? - Alternatively, now there is a simpler way to trigger custom notification emails that doesn't require coding. You could use Zapier which can integrate with Google Forms and you can set a Zap that sends the emails when a new form submission is detected.

Yes. You would have to create a new sheet and populate it with the responses yourself. Then you make that sheet available as a web page and share then link with the people filling in the form. You can se and example of this on this link → grumo.com/wfhdashboard

Lets say I want to make a survey and ask for age and gender at the start, is it possible to review the responses based on age and gender later? If so, how?
Google Forms display a pie-chart aggregating all responses, so you could see what percentage of responses belong to which age group. If you what to only filter out responses based on age group, you would need to do that inside the Google Sheet where all responses are stored and apply a filter to display results based on the chosen age group. You can search RUclips for how to filter data inside a Google Sheet for more details.

Hi Simona, the only way to use the retargeting pixel on a Google form is by embedding the form inside a regular web page and adding the code for the pixel to the page. However, there is no current way to track whether someone started but didn't complete the form. You could use Google Analytics to track how many unique visitors landed the page with the embedded form and compare that number with the total form submissions. That would give you a rough estimate of the form conversion (ie: form visitors vs. form completions.)
HI Suzana, the script shown in this video will automatically send a confirmation email in whichever language you write it on. However, I don't know how could you send it in multiple languages. I guess you could simply write the same confirmation email in several languages and send them all at once. Kind of like how manuals are written in a zillion languages and then you have to flip through countless pages until you find a language you understand.
Hi, I have a google form posted for more than 24 hours. There have been just 3 responses that have been recorded. People are filling up the form and are getting a confirmation but I am not getting the response. I have tried unlinking the form, using a different browser, incognito etc but to no avail. Hi Amit, I'm not sure what is causing that error as I've never encountered myself before. If you mean "get response" as in getting a confirmation email, then that email is triggered from the javascript code shown in the tutorial. In that case, the culprit would be the piece of code that sends that email.
Can a question have multiple options to select from? I need to ask respondents to choose their preferred brand among five different brands mentioned along with a blank box to mention (if others) for different products. So let say, there will be 10 different products in 10 rows and each respective column will have six options (wherein 5 options are different brand names and one is to be left blank for others)
Log into your Google Drive from your desktop computer using the same Gmail address you used to create the form on your phone. Then search for the form in Google Drive to open it.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to accomplish. If you want to filter specific data from a spreadsheet you can use the FILTER function in Google Sheets.

Yes. Create a new sheet next to the sheet with the form responses. Then enter this formula in one of the cells inside the new sheet → =countif('Form Responses 1'!A2:A,"") Note: Make sure you use the actual name of the sheet where responses are collected for your specific form.

The Submit button cannot be deleted so it should be there unless you embedded the form in a separate website and made the height value of the embed code too small. Then, you would need to scroll down to reveal the Submit button. Otherwise it should be there. You can also try a different browser or computer to see if the problem persists.
There is no way I can tell where the error comes from without seeing all the code. However, the script works so the error has to come from one of the changes you made to the original script. This could be something related to the HTML message or one of the variable names from one your form input fields.

I am trying to send a URL in the email to the client, so they can go back and edit there form once it has been submitting. Yes, it should work with any number of questions. The other option is connecting your Google Form with Zapier to avoid having to code anything.

There is no option for option and other. You could add a new text field to allow for comments for those that selected Other.

How can you add 2 admin emails, so 2 people can get notifications when there are new survey responses?
I don't think you can but you could duplicate the mail send function to send the admin emails twice.

That usually happens when the field name in your script doesn’t exactly match your form field name

There is no way I can tell where the error comes from without seeing all the code. However, the script works so the error has to come from one of the changes you made to the original script. This could be something related to the HTML message or one of the variable names from one your form input fields.

Stelliumx3 So the problem is with the new lines. Make sure they are escaped with a backslash symbol or the code won’t compile.

it is called maintainapp and you can find it in the GSuite marketplace. Hope this helps.

I am trying to send a URL in the email to the client, so they can go back and edit there form once it has been submitting.
I have been able to capture the URL in the spreadsheet, but when it gets emailed the URL is not there just "Click here to edit/add responses: undefined"

After people submit responses you can see all the data under the responses tab when you edit the form.
