The loss of Prospero was a latter-day burning of Alexandria, and the Imperium is forever poorer for the loss thanks to the Emperor’s distrust and Russ’s barbarism. Fantastic work, AK. Not everybody captures the pathos of these stories, but you do them justice.
@@mide2476 Yeah but they went too far to destroy even the libraries of Prospero. Their "directive" was to eliminate Magnus and the TS yet they went so far as to literally bomb each and every single building in Prospero like wtf. Most of the TS are in the Tizcan Capital, yet they bombed even the civilians across the globe. That is hate crime and racism.
The continued existence of Prospero, especially under the misguided rule of Magnus, would have cost the Imperium far more than it benefited them. It is all shown so clearly, through books like A Thousand Sons and this very video, that the Sons were in way over their heads. That their casual abuse of the warp was a doorway to Chaos and that they were pawns all along. The Sons own tutelaries were just pet daemons who turned upon them at the chosen hour. You have one thing in common with Magnus, blind devotion to his ideals in the face of blatant proof that it is false.

Magnus's tale is such perfect example of what hubris can lead to (like many of his brothers' stories). Magnus' worst mistake was to believe that he knew better than anyone else, he believed that only he could control the warp without any repercussions and he was proven wrong time and time again. Even now, he has all the knowledge he could ever ask for and what does he do with it? Nothing, he plays a B-rank villain in a 60s cartoon. Such misused character in otherwise great universe... All that aside, amazing one from The Amber king and the VAs especially Amon's part as he realizes doom is coming for his planet, truly great work from all.
This is just... Amazing, Glorious !!! I am listening this in one sitting and I remain i awe :0 The music and the voice and cadence of the narrator... I thank you so much for this.
This was well worth the wait. I was entertained from beginning to end. Magnus may have been arrogant and misguided but he also had to fight lies and bigotry. Hopefully he learned the lessons he needed to make better decisions. Thank you for all of effort, time you and everyone put into this great work
As much as I love Vulkan his conversation with Magnus shows why the Imperium's own self-righteousness forced Magnus away. Sure he was arrogant but his arrogance didn't really cause any harm. The only thing you can directly contribute to his arrogance was the cost of curing the flesh change. And for that he wasn't left with any other choice. Can you say it was arrogance that lead a father to sacrifice a part of himself to save his sons when left with no other options? At every opportunity his brothers would berate and demonize him. Is it any wonder that insults didn't pan out to be a convincing argument for why he should temper his curiosity? Especially when it was so clear that psychic powers were so beneficial to mankind. He's meant to just believe the people who want to attack his legion. For Magnus how could it look like anything other than persecution? Instead of tempering his legion, or putting lighter restrictions, or at least make it clear than the ban was temporary and could be revisited the Emperor outright bans the very essence of his legion. How could you expect a legion of sorcerers to completely reshape the way they operate overnight and never touch their powers again? Vulkan talks about how Magnus is the only one upset the Emperor didn't warn his about the webway. But Magnus was never upset that it was kept secret from him, he's being blamed for it's destruction when he had no idea something so delicate and important existed. Had he known what it was he never would've attempted to break it. How could you blame him when it would have been impossible for him to know? Given the circumstances the message he had to bring could have saved the galaxy. Anyone in his shoes would have felt that if he didn't break into Terra all of humanity was at risk. When the wolves came how could he not believe they were coming to kill him when Russ made it so clear that's what he would have wanted? And how is it Magnus' fault that he was compliant with his punishment, but at the same time also his fault when he fought against it? He calls Magnus arrogant for being deceived but when Russ is the one arrogant and deceived it's still somehow Magnus' fault for not trying to enlighten him. As if Magnus hasn't spent his whole life trying to. Why was it not Russ's responsibility to seek the truth? He disobeyed a direct order from the Emperor. He saw that Magnus was not fighting back. Why did he continue to burn Prospero against a clearly unsuspecting and unorganized resistance? Surely the Wolf King could tell in a moment that they have no idea why they were being attacked. It's ironic that the Imperium and his brothers always blamed Magnus for his arrogance when even to the end they could not admit that they treated their own brother unfairly. They could not even admit that maybe they did not understand Magnus or why he acted as he did. The Emperor knew Magnus would never kill his own legion. Why didn't he offer to reassign his legion or simply disband them? Let them live out their lives as tutors or scholars until the flesh change kills them off naturally? Keep them under supervision if you need to and I'm sure Magnus would have accepted.
I didn't watch it the first time because I was busy, but I got this one as soon as it dropped. Mostly just leaving a comment to help with the algorithm. I know it hates reuploads.
Ah yes, another serving of the Amber King 40K dopamine, another awesome video. Listening to and from work and will probably re watch at least 10 times bear minimum.
I find it interesting how Magnus "NEVER ASK! the E to create a NEW Geneseed!" The moment he discovered the flesh change degradation of his son's! Or to reexamine the original seed. The emperor likely knew of the flesh change.. unless it was a special unsaid challenge to magnus; rite of passage to perfect the thousand sons!?
At Nikea Magnus tells a version of Plato's cave where the cave-dwellers celebrate the curious one. The Emperor surely knows the original version but does not correct him.

This is amazing. Magnus was one the most tragic people in 40K. His is truly a great story of hubris and downfall. Alas he truly died and was lost forever when he ascended and was reborn as a demon primarch.
>Saw a 3:27 hours video and said: "Heh, lets give it a try."
>3:57 hours later (had to rewatch some parts... they were that good) and said: "That was well worth the time!"
Awesome Job.
From a man who watched his father and mother die by 1:49:59 I was in tears damn it your amazing also this is the night I chose earlier to give up drinking I'm having my last drink now as I listen thank you for making this last beverage a memorable one SALUTE!
Wow brother, I wish you nothing but the best on your journey!
How’s your sobriety going?
@@beastleemain hard but I'm still swinging thank you
@@TheAmberKing thank you that means alot
@@jacobtiger964 epic! I’ve been sober from alcohol for about 5-6yrs for me getting into fitness was the key after a decade of very heavy drinking. I’m recently deciding though that I will be completely sober in life(weed). Just a couple weeks in so keep at it. Being in control of yourself is a good feeling.
Edit: I want to add before I get attacked weed is amazing I’m just done finally.
So very well done. I love the tragic character that is Magnus. Amon's part was exceptionally amazing
This was beautiful and some parts almost made me cry ngl, the men in cave part really hit me hard, I know how it feels to explain something absolutely amazing to your friends and loved ones only to receive no reactions nor understanding and then seeing them continuing with their dull, grey 'entertainment', but this always depends on people, what others like and don't but I believe many of us have experienced this moment or feeling. One good example is, painting miniatures.
I hope that one day Amber and Warrior Tier could do a collab, with other creators too.
Lmao, they did it.
Keep it up mate. Too much lore scattered across books few read. This helps a lot thank you.
Wow, thank you so much brother!
That Emperor Voice ... Just Perfection. And the other Cast too !! So amazing I can literaly see it all imagining it all Sooo Good !!!
The voices you chose for MAgnus and especially Perterabo are why I subscribed! 30:40 LOVE IT!!
Utter perfection! The narration, the pace, epically chosen musical embedding! You make us FEEL the emotions the characters go through, putting us at their place, feeling the despair and injustice of the greatest drama ever! Thank you!
Magnus reminds me of stringer bell in the wire. When I’m first watching/reading I’m fully on their side and angry at those who are don’t see the ‘enlightenment/revolution’ they are trying to build but the more I rewatch and reread the more I come to see their blindness and hubris and value what others were trying to tell them.
The music behind the buttery smooth voice acting just take this beyond a fan production, makes this immersive behind words. It's a perfect encapsulation of understanding and emotional response Magnus and the thousand sons deserves. real 10/10
I couldn't say it better. 🙏
(The combo music/voice acting though... 😮😭⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Wow. I usually listen to these while gameing but I had to out down my controller and really listen during Amon's Monologue. Incredible, incredible work. I can't believe the quality of these videos
😳
Wow, thanks! As a big ol gaming geek myself, that's high praise, my guy. I'm honored. Cheers!
The Amon monologue almost hit me with a physical force despite being just a voice.
Amazing video, Magnus is a very underrated character. The voice acting for him was very well done on top of everything as well.
Thank you for the support brother!
only 10 seconds into the video and GOD DAMN, the voice and tone for magnus are 1000/10
Phenomenal!! One of your best works and I will say this…. Quite literally the best lore telling on RUclips. Bravo
This made me understand and by the end, feel sorry Magnus… man, this was an emotional rollercoaster
Amazingly well done, would love to see one of those for Russ of the Lion sometime, they’re both such poorly understood primarchs.
man i dont know if its that you and your voice actors are just that good or if the excerpts itselves are that intense but i almost cried several times watching this. i like ur content and it helps me sleep. keep it up
You’re my favorite 40k youtuber.
And I watch them all. 20+ year hobby fan, like my father before me.
I don’t want to name drop but of the 15+ guys I’ve followed for years you’re a complete gem.
This is excellent! The production values are so high. It has been a pleasure listening to it, and I know I will come back and listen to it again many times.
Thank you so much man. Really appreciate the work behind this masterpiece. I am listening for the third time it is so good.
Magnificent as always, thank you! Loving the use of the Mechanicus soundtrack too.
This story of magnus is truly a masterpiece.
Wow!!! This was fantastic!
I've got to say, the voice actor who did Amon, that pleading speech to Magnus, that was as moving performance as I've ever heard in my life.
My heart actually hurt for him. 😔
This ranks up there as one of your best, sir.
Damn. Thanks, dude. Much appreciated. Glad you liked the read!
@@darthpanda1127That was you? Amazing job my friend, I was on the verge of tears and his pleading drove a spear through my heart. Well done, truly well done!
Finally had the time to finish this. Great work as always!!! Magnus is a great character and you and your team did a phenomenal job.
As someone who didn't really know too much about Magnus the big red primarch this video is phenomenal. Honestly this channel and lorecrimes are becoming my favorite Warhammer channels
Genuinely amazing job. Your passion in 40k content never ceases to amaze. Have a glorious day everyone! Thanks for the vid.
When he ends up releasing a 6 hour sanguinius video think I’ll shed a tear 😂
Same here. The angel doesn't get anywhere near the love he deserves amongst the lore community
Until the Siege ends. Only then.
The Siege isn't finished yet, that's the conclusion to his story
A bloody tear?
I think I’d shed tears for a video like that too
@@ironduke5058oh Sangy's story ended now with Part 2.....and without spoiling anything.......y'all better be ready......it's pretty brutal even for W40k lol
The loss of Prospero was a latter-day burning of Alexandria, and the Imperium is forever poorer for the loss thanks to the Emperor’s distrust and Russ’s barbarism.
Fantastic work, AK. Not everybody captures the pathos of these stories, but you do them justice.
Russ was a fool. Always so rash with this and trying to take on Horus himself. But as you say the emperor definitely had his part to play
Magnus, Leman Russ and the Emperor all did things Wrong.
@@richter6699space wolves are psychers too. The weird is nothing but chaos in disguise.
the emperor seem to keep so many secrets from his sons, and that is what causes all of this pain and confusion for all the primarks, allows them all to make so many mistakes and ruin some of his plans, he is the issue.
You always find such amazing voice actors, seriously. The confrontation between magnus and amon was perfection. I had to pause and let it sink in well done to both of them!
One of the absolute BEST lore videos and highlights of the books I've ever heard in all of my years of 40k. This is now my new favorite explanation of my favorite Primarch and Legion! Please continue the incredible work!
The absolute quality of work your putting out is incredible for its scale
One of the best so far! I've listened twice already! Thanks king!
"The end does not justify the means.
Unless it's me, then it's ok."
Magnus the Red, probably
Commenting again on this one for the algo. Love the length and depth (😏) of this particular vid. Would love to see more like it. Props to all the incredible people involved that made it happen
I'm so fucking excited for when you do the Deathguard and Mortarion. Every upload is a masterpiece, and one that is truly appreciated. Thank you for doing what you do. I tip my hat to you good ser.
This video/art is brilliance. Thank you so much.
Damn. Tzeentch really had done a real screw up on the last video if you had to fix it again and reupload. Anyways thanks for the video again!
Cheers, brother. Excellent work, as always.
Amber King, all your work is so incredible. I'm not too big on commenting and such but, I had to tell you. Your vids really get me into such a deep understanding of the lore. Your research, your presentation, your opinions on the lore are all some of the best work I've yet to witness.
I can't stress enough about amazing the voice acting is. Every character is perfect. Thank you to all involved with these videos.
Once again you deliver top notch content, keep up the amazing work , and keep on amazing everyone.
Geez....! Yall do a FANTASTIC job of bringing these characters to life!
Man, you go epic in all your videos!
Thats is one incredible work, Sir! Thank you! I"ve never encountered such thought-provoking work on fallen Primark. In many aspects it opens up Magnus in a very unique light, as a complex person, not a two-bit evil wizard.
Every single video is phenomenal. Hands down brother!
Over 3 hours! Absolutely amazing , that must been an absolute ton of work dude .
I love how you make videos that take the time and care to depict as much as a picture as possible rather then a fleeting spatter of information most other videos do. Your videos are a great work of story telling. If I had kids I would take time to make watch these videos with me. I look forward to the next one.
This is just fantastic. I subscribed after listening for 15 minutes.
Wow Perturabo busting out a lot of sense there in the scene from the book.
Wonderful work once again! We'll get you to 100k this year for sure.
This is the best one yet! Y'all killed it, from the writing to the voice work to all the bits I'm unfamiliar with... this is 'Duke of NY A#1'* stuff!
*-a Kurt kudos to those that remember that movie; he definitely would have been a catachan (urban) jungle fighter.
This is definitely one of the best Warhammer 40k content on internet, very well done, thank you very much!!!
by far one of the best stories, great job as well reading it.
Thank you brother!
Jaghatai Khan destroying a shard of Magnus was so heartbreaking that i didn't know i shed a tear.
Really well done. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
Was already lookinh for that one again, didnt have the time to wstch during the premiere
Man the voice for Amon is incredible...A+ performance
This is just... Amazing, Glorious !!! I am listening this in one sitting and I remain i awe :0
The music and the voice and cadence of the narrator... I thank you so much for this.
This was well worth the wait. I was entertained from beginning to end. Magnus may have been arrogant and misguided but he also had to fight lies and bigotry. Hopefully he learned the lessons he needed to make better decisions. Thank you for all of effort, time you and everyone put into this great work
thanks for the video. I always enjoy listening to your videos.
Thank you brother!
Ah yes, another serving of the Amber King 40K dopamine, another awesome video. Listening to and from work and will probably re watch at least 10 times bear minimum.
This is my first exposure to this channel, and I must say… I am blown away! Great work all around.
Thank you for your work!
I find it interesting how Magnus "NEVER ASK! the E to create a NEW Geneseed!"
The moment he discovered the flesh change degradation of his son's!
Or to reexamine the original seed.
The emperor likely knew of the flesh change.. unless it was a special unsaid challenge to magnus; rite of passage to perfect the thousand sons!?
Pride begets fall. If only Magnus had chosen wisdom... Extraordinary video on the Crimson King. This lengthy format is truly a new form of art.
If only his brother and the emperor weren't arrogant fools too
A magnus redemption arc would hit eternally hard
If "Pride cometh before the fall" had a mascot
GAAWD DAMN, that being said. This was dope
Love the video, especially the bits with Perturabo.
Your videos and lore about Primarchs are gold
At Nikea Magnus tells a version of Plato's cave where the cave-dwellers celebrate the curious one. The Emperor surely knows the original version but does not correct him.
I wonder why?
@@mide2476 Because the danger was the warp, not Magnus's peers.
