Hi. Yes, they're great little watches on their own, but they also lend themselves well to this kind of experiment. I've done two and they both worked well. After I had success with them I found a Casio Edifice Chronograph and did that one as well. Looks fanstasic. Baby oil might be a bit thick and I think it might affect the lume as well. Time will tell. I used a very low viscosity silicone oil. A lot easier to work with, and also easier to get the bubbles out. I've no issue so far with accuracy after about four or five months. That blue and black looks nice. Keep experimenting. Thanks for the video.
@@Watchwist A crowd called Flexichem. They're in South Australia. A litre cost me around eighty pacific pesos. I used CF5 which is their second lowest viscosity silicon fluid.
@@Plexcom60Thanks for the info. How did you find battery life after filling with oil? I think the standard battery life on Casio MRW-200 is about 3 years but some people have said that battery life was a serious problem after hydro modding because the hands can't move as freely through the oil but others have said it's fine and battery life was not an issue.
@@mattkinsella9856 Hi. I didn't take careful notice of how long the battery lasted. But I notice I made that comment to you about three years ago, and just recently I noticed the two watches had stopped. So the battery life was somewhere south of three years. My guess would be that battery life would depend to at least some extent on the viscosity of the oil used. That's why I went for the second thinnest silicon oil I could find. It's like water. I've been thinking of finding a Casio solar powered watch and hydro modding that to see what happens. That way battery life would not be an issue.
I own one too, bought it a month ago and only realised it has a bidirectional bezel. Lol This is what I wear when I'm relaxing at home, I put it on and forget I'm wearing it, unlike my Gshocks, Casio really are the Kings of Affordable watches.
Bro i just chechked with uv torch. And ya hand has lume on it .its still glow in oil but unfortunately casio having a so worse lume so it cant evn glow in normal light.🤣👍thx for look it out
Yea its a baby oil..coz its easily available..im uploading a new vdo for same model watch with bubble ..i need to try it lets hope i will get 1 bubble⌚😂
For no bubble just deep the watch in oil for few min let it soak all the oil and move the dial and movement lilbit...and put it back carfully nd ur done👍
I used baby oil and got a bubble I didn't want and it was hard work for the second hand to get beyond it, so really it's going to bugger your battery quicker because of the viscosity. Use silicone oil or something with less viscosity. Baby oil is still, after all, mineral oil. Rather than focusing on the finished article, this video might have been better to show you the actual process. I know that the stems and crowns were difficult for me to remove from this model yet there is a way of doing the mod by leaving it in and lifting the dial and movement and not taking everything out. Good luck. 👍

It would be even better if you use a solar watch. This one you have to open to change the battery within an few years....messy again
Does mineral oil eat the plastics of the watch??
Isnt the oil going to precipitate in very cold weather or cold water?
Bro what oil did u use. I am considering to use silicone oil of 50 cst, but cant find one.
Oil inside the watch?
it s look like smartwatch 😊
Like lcd displays being compared to super amoled displays
Looks really good. Really tempted to do it too. What kind of oil did you use? I’m thinking of a cheap baby oil. Lol
Ya 👻Johnson baby oil works..👍
When changing time and date, does the oil seep out?
Nop
Is it possible to make Hydromod to an ECO DRIVE watch?

Looks cool! 👍🏼... Thinking of doing the same...Can you kindly explain the process. Tips for not getting bubbles? Which oil...Johnson Baby oil?
Also did it affect the accuracy?

And ya it doesn't affect tht much in time keeping so u can do it 👍
