Man this was awesome! Such a sweet trail. Loved the technical section. The LC handled it like a boss. Such beautiful scenery can’t wait for the next one!
I like your videos. Especially this one since you have 3 generations together. I was in moab for the land rover rally when you filmed this, I believe. The rally was mid September.
I've been daily driving my disco 2 the past few weeks, hoping to tune her up for some vids next year. Just got a misfire code, looks like plugs and wires this weekend. Thanks for watching!
Great video! We "may" be going up Bobby's Hole the second week of October. I've been down with no issues but the current park advisory states that it may be impassible! Maybe winching with a Pull-Pall or bypassing all together on Cross Canyon. I'm sure it will be an adventure one way or another! If you went through Moab the 3rd week of September, 2021, the Great American Rover Rally was going on.
Awesome! Which rover are you taking down? Let me know how it goes! One of my absolute favorite multi-day trips. I prefer it to White Rim (don't tell anyone I said that!)
@@ForgottenWaypoints our gold D2 for this trip. That area is the first part of around 500 miles off road we'll be doing that week. At some point later in October or November I'll get the video for it posted.
I really enjoyed your video. We are planning a trip to Elephant Hill next summer, now I think we will go out through Beef Basin after watching this 👍 My all time favorite campsite is just down the trail from here, I hope to see it again via part 3 😎
Another awesome video! We were trying to go in the opposite direction (up Bobby's hole) last year but decided to forego it and just enjoy out time at Bobby Jo's campground. Every person we crossed paths with was deterring us from going up Bobby's hole, even telling us that a 4Runner locked front and rear couldn't make it up. I was up for the challenge but was camping with someone who was less familiar with technical climbs so foregoing it was the better choice for us. Also, the Elephant hill loop has plenty of technical climbs and descents. Thanks for the information as always!
I think my LX would have struggled as the sand and Atrac don't play well. My dad could have done it in the wrangler, but going down is just easier all around on the gear. I love the elephant hill area!
@@ForgottenWaypoints Agreed - I'll probably try it again in that direction for those same reasons. ATRAC works I suppose but I hate the latency between no traction/traction. There were a couple areas coming back out of Elephant Hill where it was bothersome, mostly the main ascent out of the valley. And yes, it is beautiful out there -I've never seen starts brighter than my nights out there.
Interesting, Bobby's was definitely the premiere obstacle on the run this time around, but I've heard elephant hill can get pretty bad between maintenance. Sounds like you went on a great day!!
‘Hole still looks the same. Video and pics don't do it justice. Last year took us 4 hours to get 3 vehicles up (all with lockers or ATRAC). Take a Deadman for those not fully locked.
It is great to get out with the family. Southern Utah is awesome red rock country.
Bobbys Hole added to the Bucket List! Thank you!
Yeah, we are going back too! It's one of our favorites.
Great video

@@ForgottenWaypoints I have a disco 4 which is also expensive to maintain. But I love her. 😅. Very similar to your Lexus where you get comfort too.
@@almamdani6564 , the Disco 4 will crush my LX for comfort. Rover cross linked air is magic!

Nice, I've been wanting to take my LX down to the swell, haven't been there in years!

@@ForgottenWaypoints Will do, maybe I'll can show you in a video 😎

Great video! Good adventure! Do you recall approximately how many hours it took you from when you left pavement to reach the Natl. Park border?

@@stough77 , my atrac failed for a second (had to restart) on the final ascent out of the hill. You'll see that in all of it's glory in Part 3!
This is great! What rock sliders are those? And do you love them?
Metaltech. At first I was hesitant about a U-bolt slider but they have been awesome! Totally recommend them.
Is that Rubicon lifted/more than 33's?
Yeah, my dad's jeep is on 35s, I can't remember the lift. This trail would be passable on 33s.
@@ForgottenWaypoints cool. I've got a stock Rubicon. Hope to get there at some point.
Lol. There’s no mistaking Bobby’s Hole. But I found the stuff in the Needles much worse.
