    Really enjoy your videos. Some old fashioned curb feelers might have helped in that narrow part.
    If you're looking for a side-subject, I'd appreciate a list of the top easy trails through the most beautiful scenery in the country. I'm not prepared for the hard stuff, but would love to make better use of my SUV.

    Hi guys, new sub here. I stumbled on your channel a few weeks back while researching my next off road vehicle. I ended up with a 2012 JGC Overland 5.7. Beautiful vehicle, almost hate that I’ll be taking it off road - almost. But not before I lift it, re-tire it, and get some protective armor under it.

    The video starts of with the Cherokee rims saying they need bigger tires. Looks like the rim is on the rocks.
    I appreciate that you took it stock. I took my wife’s stock lx 470 to Moab Oct 14 without her, against her wishes, with the kids. We will go out there again on n spring break for a week, I will make her drive it on the hardest trails, and I will video tape her and every minute.

    I noticed in quite a few of your videos that the guy with the Wrangler says "left" and "right" when spotting, leading to confusion, since his left and your left are different when he's facing you. Maybe ask him to use "passenger" and "driver" instead, like you do. No mistaken direction then. Awesome video, we've watched every single one you've put out.

    Recently got two flats on a trail, pretty far from civilization. Like you, only had one spare. About 30 tire plugs later, made it out (sidewall). My conclusion, a better air compressor would have made all the difference! Great videos, love it. Thank you for sharing!

    We're you able to make it through S.O.B. Hill? It's not in the video at all. Did you make it the Joint Trail or the Confluence? Both spots are great for pics.

    Do you need to replace all 4 tires now? I was of the understanding that with the jgc 4x4 and air suspension really needs all 4 tires to match

    Hey Brad, I’ve been watching your videos from the beginning and continue to be impressed with the abilities of the Trailhawk. And you push this vehicle to find its limits. With it not being equipped with articulated suspension, I would feel I am getting the best off road performance out of the Trailhawk and would not feel being left out of the challenges. I have a question that is important to me. Q. How is the gas mileage, in and out of the throttle through technical and challenging trails. Is there ever a time you would maybe consider bringing with you an extra fuel cell?

    • @ProdigalOverland
      @ProdigalOverland  3 года назад +1

      We have never been in a situation where we needed to bring more fuel. We fill up before we hit the trails. I think the most we have ever used round trip was half a tank. If I was doin a multi day trail then maybe.

  • @willstoney
    @willstoney 3 года назад +1

    When you get a flat, do you replace all four tires so the wear matches? Or perhaps you you rotate the spare tire through so that it has a similar wear pattern?

    • @ProdigalOverland
      @ProdigalOverland  3 года назад

      We have actually changed enough tires that the pattern is about the same. I did buy one additional tire on this change out to keep it even.

    Looks like the Cherokee deserves a little more credit than I tend to give them. I still think it has a bad transmission in it (FCA 9sp sucks) but definitely looked as capable as the GC. I do love his color though and wish my GCTH was that color.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk 3 года назад

      Yeah, the KL's do alright i guess....lol I've heard that BMW or some other higher tier auto manufacturers also use the same transmission, so it can't be inherently all that bad by itself. Now our diffs and t-cases...those are trash and can shatter if you look at it wrong.

    I took my JLU Sport through that trail last March. I felt like I used and needed all of the articulation and ground clearance I had, otherwise no problems just drive on. I can't imagine doing it in a Grand Cherokee. A Wrangler is narrow enough that the squeeze is not a problem, just drive right through it. I was hoping it would be more of a challenge.

    Looks like a beautiful trail and +2 for the Forestry Service or whoever "mixed mud" on the trail! That was probably tough work and from what I saw, keeps that trail passable without being a "big modified" 4 by. Good squeeze through the "pocket", off road pages would have helped your buddy with the steering angle IMHO. Kids are growing like weeds. Tell them Pam and Rick miss them and hope to see them soon. Cheers. As always, a good vid. I miss my mighty Trailhawk but... well yeah.

    First, gotta love seeing a Cherokee trail hawk in this vid. 2. I’m gonna be honest I agree with you on your trail review, it seems like these Wildpeaks are very weak on the sidewalls. I made the mistake of going from a LT tire to a falken wildpeak and ripped the sidewall on 2 different tires on an off-road trip within the first 1000 miles. Same thing happened just hit a sharp rock, but had BFG ko2s before and the tread was so thick i would get a nail stuck and could remove it and wouldn’t lose air. Anyways loving the vids and look forward to seeing more adventures. Maybe a review of these tires overall before switching?
