    Notes about this video:
    1. Download an example of the high-protein meal plan I've been on: lauratry.gumroad.com/l/high-protein-meal-plan
    Download an example of the exercise programme I've been doing: lauratry.gumroad.com/l/weight-training-plan
    I hope to be able to release the exercise programme to all in the future. I'll let you know if that happens.
    2. There was so much information covered in the consultation. It was 2.5 hours, but I edited it down to 35 minutes, otherwise it's too much information.
    More good stuff came back from the results, which I didn't include:
    - My blood vessels are in excellent health showing a low risk of cardiovascular disease
    - My organ health is still good
    - I don’t have any inflammation, showing a low risk of disease
    - My body is good at detoxification
    - In this particular test, we measured cancer markers which thankfully came back normal
    - And I have lots of diversity in my gut, which is a good thing
    3. With videos like this, some people can't help but share their internal judgments about me or Phil.
    This is a typical example of not judging a book by its cover.
    I am trying to help people by releasing this video. Phil is trying to help people's health by doing his job.
    Please think before you type.
    If you haven't got something nice to say, then perhaps don't say anything at all.

    Everyone should be having full screens like this every year, if they did, the amount of lives that could be saved is off the charts, also the amount of days lost to illness would plummet. In addition the amount of money saved in health costs would be mind blowing. Preventive screening is what medical providers should be focusing on instead of the current firefighting that takes up so much of their time, lives and money

      The capitalistic system doesn’t much like that idea.. although there are countries that have mandatory health insurance and yearly checkups and even countries that charge you money if your BMI is too big!
      Personally I see more benefit with making sure the money comes into the system like that and creates jobs that way.. than to do whatever the Tories have done to the NHS
      A free healthcare system isn’t useful anymore. A health insurance system that’s tailored to people’s income is however.

      Although I do agree it would be nice to have extensive screening like this for everyone, I think there is already a lot, and I mean a ton of simple things anyone out there can do to improve their health - mostly good nutrition, exercise and drcent sleep - but you’ll find most people cannot be bothered and are not willing to make those changes.

    Hi Laura, I'm happy that you are feeling well/better. I do find this content and Phil's approach to be a bit concerning though. There was a lot of good stuff said here, but also some not so good stuff... In line with Brandolini's law, it would take much more effort to refute the not so good stuff than it took to simply say it. For example, "low stomach acid" can't be inferred from a blood test. Even if it could, it would be important to find the reason why the stomach acid levels were low and address that, rather than just covering it up with a supplement. Is atrophic gastritis the cause? That can only be diagnosed with a gastroscopy and biopsy - and it predisposes to gastric cancer so it's important to actually find out. It's also a red flag that the same person that is interpreting and diagnosing is profiting from the sale of the medications which they claim will treat said condition - this is a financial conflict of interest. Are your stomach acid levels really low, and do you really need HCl or pepsin? While Phil is undoubtedly highly educated in his area, to be frank he's practicing dangerously outside of his scope, especially in the prescription of hormone therapy (progesterone, pregnenolone, DHEA). Hope you continue to feel and be well.

    • @davidking1318
      @davidking1318 4 месяца назад +2

      I would agree - and I would say that the talk around creatine kinase was a bit off. The test was a bloods test, not a muscle biopsy. Creatine kinase in the blood is a marker of muscle damage. His explanations about how low blood levels are related to mitochondrial dysfunction are, in my clinical exercise scientist opinion, unfounded.

      Agreed. Also, high cholesterol is absolutely linked, with lots of different lines of evidence, to higher risk of cardiovascular disease, so to say that high cholesterol is not concerning is a red flag.

    Well done to you Laura! This is such incredible work on your part. To have your sex hormones in harmony is not easy but you’ve done it and you’re feeling the benefits from it. Phil’s knowledge is incredible and for anyone seeking support like this, any nutritional therapist can run and interpret these panels. In the uk nobody knows nutritional therapists exist annoyingly but we do so much detective work for our clients to help them turn their health around. Another area of interest may be nutrigenomics. Around 40% of the population has a genetic mutation which means no mater how much folate they consume from green leafy veggies, they are not very efficient at converting it into the active form the body needs. Simple supplementation of the active form resolves this and a whole host of neurological symptoms with it.

    • @barbarafairbanks4578

      Right!
      ...and if Phil has not touched upon, with LT, the importance of not drinking water with meals (bc, as you've said, it dilutes stomach acid) - then he's been remiss in not explaining his meal plan properly, imo.
      Also, the low mag. may possibly be why she has a low hydration marker.
      She may be drinking sufficient water- but at the wrong time- and could appear to be dehydrated because the H2O she is
      intaking is watershedding right thru her body, and not optimally entering her cells.
      And THIS may be the result of not sipping water throughout the day (but instead, gulping down large quantities in a few sittings in an effort to meet her daily H2O goals...
      OR, could signala sodium insufficiency (which she does not have - OR a magnesium deficiency which she does have.
      (both sodium and magnesium help H2O to enter the cell.
      AND, if she's intaking Celtic salt with her water - it's kind of beyond me why she's still magnesium low)?
      Because Celtic salt contains 3 types of magnesium.
      So, really she shouldn't be low mag. So, yah this is looking like a malabsorption issue.
      The next set of biomarkers for LT should be very interesting! She's now going to start on a supplement to help mag absorption....let's see if that also improves her hydration 😊

    Licorice capsules healed my adrenals to start making aldosterone again, thus fixing my chronic dehydration. And raising my blood pressure from being too low

    • @kristie8357
      @kristie8357 3 месяца назад

      @davidhiggins5366 I also increase my salt which helps. Most people get high blood pressure when stressed. I get low BP. I've lived with chronically high stress and cortisol my whole life so my adrenals seemed to quit making aldosterterone. No tests. I figured it out on my own. My doctor DID tell me to increase my salt when I feel low BP. Licorice seemed to give my adrenals a boost. When my BP drops my hands fall asleep at night. Having a glass of salt water by my bed helps.

    I was inspired by your chopped salad veg for lunch meal, I add beans and herbs from my garden and add some oil and vinegar. I take it to work with me and it stops my stomach grumbling. My current problem is cutting down on alcohol. I live alone and sometimes find it difficult to control the amounts. I tried to get a blood test done but my veins are very narrow. I'll try again. Maybe bring a hot water bottle with me as the room was freezing.

    I was so interested and keen to see this video and where you had got to on the journey. I'd also like to say thank for this video series. I signed up with Phil for his full range of tests plus his nutrition plan all based on your videos. Since talking with him about my results, I've since signed up for a fitness training plan. On a different note, would you ever consider a video more focused on women specific issues as an informational series, not necessarily your own personal health? I appreciate ii's a very sensitive subject, but I know a couple of women who would be interested in getting a better insight that is beyond the standard NHS or big pharma messages especially topics like menopause where information seems to be lacking. Thanks!

    Hey, Laura! So...maybe you already know this, but when one is eating a low-carb diet, dehydration and low electrolyte levels are very common. I wonder if you've been consuming enough sodium, so that your body can hang on to water and electrolytes? I promise I'm not making this up. Chronic dehydration is one of the reasons why I can no longer do low-carb. Extra salt wasn't enough for me. I wish you balance, abundance, and good health!

    It's not possible that Phil has seen an hs-CRP level 18,500 times higher than yours at 0.8! The highest levels possible are around 500 which is considered extremely high. This was a ridiculous statement to make when anyone can Google this.
    Also, lithium?? Have you seen the list of side effects and potential for toxicity? He should not be recommending this at all.
    Though I do agree with his view on cholesterol. Worrying about high cholesterol is a falicy created by the pharmaceutical industry which make around 30bn+ yearly off of this fabrication.
    Some very questionable information here from Phil. Be very careful Laura. I love your work X

    • @LauraTryUK
      @LauraTryUK  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi, in this case you have misheard and misinterpreted information.
      My levels were 0.08, not 0.8.
      Re: lithium, I take low dose lithium ororate without any harm or side effects. Many people take it. It's quite common.
      I can't answer all comments with people disagreeing and agreeing with certain information from this video, as there are many ways to skin a cat as they say.
      Thanks for your concern, I appreciate it.

    • @ninawhitford7819
      @ninawhitford7819 4 месяца назад +2

      Still, 18,500 x 0.08 is around 1,500. So this is still nonsense from Phil. A person with >500 CRP would be in the ICU with acute bacterial infection or something. Yet Phil is saying he saw that on one of his clients panels? Sorry, not possible, so he is misinforming here.
      With regards to lithium, I know from painful experience that this can induce psoriatic arthritis. An extremely painful and chronic condition that is very hard to get under control once you have it. Of course not everyone will be affected in this way.
      This is sent with care as I do love your work and have been a subscriber for a couple of years. However, I do think people should take care when delving into the world of unregulated supplements. I don't agree with people being encouraged to take supplements long term. These practitioners make a hefty wedge in this area on top of the already extortionate charges for the blood panels alone.

    Hi Laura, How much water do you drink on average per day? Thanks

  • @MobaCry
    @MobaCry 4 месяца назад +5

    Actually being dehydrated doesn't mean that you don't drink enough water everytime. Sometimes even drinking enough water doesn't solve the problem it can come from multiple factors. It is actually more complex than just drinking water and I bet in your case you do drink enough water. Just look it up 😉

      It CAN mean that the water is not entering the cell - it MAY be rushing thru the system- watershed fashion.
      This could be a result of sodium and/or magnesium deficiency - OR just a matter of gulping down quantities of water, and not sipping throughout the day.

    Vitamin D is critical to so many important processes in the body, having low levels is going to cause multiple issues, and does in a huge number of people. It’s called a vitamin but is essentially a hormone, as it’s converted through its different forms in the liver and kidneys. Most people in the UK are insufficient or deficient in Vitamin D all year round, but more so over Winter. The government/NHS recommendations for daily Vitamin D supplementation are ridiculously low, almost like suggesting half a glass of water a day will hydrate someone who is dehydrated. The triumvirate to take together for optimum Vit D absorption would be D3, K2 and some form of Magnesium, like citrate or glycinate. It’s such low hanging fruit for improving the health of the general population.
