I absolutely love this version. I love this particular album an awful lot because of the creative differences involved in it. Its an alternate version, and that's okay by me.
This album got me into Anthrax. I think I prefer these raw recordings more than any other recordings of theirs; studio quality sound and live-show atmosphere.
I prefer Joey, but Bush brought a more "modern" 90's vibe along with his gruffer vocals. It's interesting hearing his renditions of the 80s 'Thrax songs. I have to say the production value is SO much better on these re-recorded versions. Either way, Anthrax rules! \m/
The thing you have to do is forget the Belladonna version you already know, nd imagine that this was the first and only version you have ever heard. With that mind-set, it is obvious that this is the superior version. After all, this was the type of singer the band always wished they had.
@konejo197666 Man, he destroyed Joey on Gung-Ho, he destroyed Turbin in Panic and Deathrider, the other songs in the album were very good too, but...it's true that this isn't the best version of Lone Justice...
you can say that bush is an amazing singer (i wont discuss that) but all of you have to admit that his voice doesn't belong to the anthrax original sound
I love ALL ANTHRAX but I have yet to hear John do Joey justice in or out of the studio. It's like nearing Roth trying ANYTHING Hagar did w/ Van Halen. John may have sang 'there is room for one more', but not really in this case. Unfortnately, because Joey isn't one of those show off ME,ME ME, kinda guys that strives for personal attention, he nor Anthrax ever got the norority like 'SELL-OUT-TICA'!
Bush's vocals sound so miss-fitting on Belladonna songs. It's simple, Bush is a baritone fitted for darker material and Joey's melodic tenor voice is perfect for this metal stuff. I have nothing against Bush but he really wasn't a good substitute for Joey. Oh no I guess I am going to have all Bush fan-boys saying I'm a dick for liking Joey's 'whiny' vocals. Sorry fellas but its called having a melodic tone and awesome range!
The thing that sucks, is that John Bush could 100% sing "his" version of any Neil/Joey song. But Joey really can't sing most John songs very well, if at all.
I loves me some John Bush flavored Anthrax and this is undoubtedly my favorite Anthrax song...but I have to say Mr. Bush, this was not your best work :(
The vocal range is sorely missing on this song. This version is too monotone compared to the original. LOL at "more gruff" tossed around as an excuse for lack of range.
I bet halfway through recording the album Scott was thinking "Fuck, he is really killing our classic songs", but they already paid the studio fees so decided to finish and put this shit out lol
This song is only to be sang by Belladona! Some songs sounded better with Bush like Among The Living, but this one sounds way better with Belladona, and so the majority of the songs of the Belladona era, also the solo is way better in the original version, that part with the harmonics was great, I was expecting to hear it here, but the solo sucked...
A lot - a _lot_ - of rock and metal vocalists sing high-ass "chest voice" notes for a reason. It's a part of the aesthetic. It's what we all respond to, and gets us pumped up. From Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, etc. onwards, it has been this way. Belladonna hit some high notes on these verses, and he _still hits them today._ I'm sorry but, as good as John is as a singer, this sounds like he couldn't quite make it. It doesn't sound better; sounds weaker instead. This was a bad choice.
Totally don't agree. This is SO MUCH better. A rough song with a ruth voice. Who would want a high pitch in this song? For what? There are pinch harmonics, that's enough.
dude, i dont care what anyone says, bush is a great singer. just not for anthrax. amazing in armored saint but when you have to redo the bands old great tunes like this you obvioulsy cant come up with any great songs. so I think Belladonna and Turbin were the only good singers in anthrax, forget about them after persistance of time..
John is terrible at this song I'm sorry. He makes it sound a bit "southern" accent even. His voice is deeper, but it's not melodic as the vocals in this song are suppose to be. Joey makes the song very melodic. Also, the guitars sound a bit worse. Almost like the drums are louder in this version. The guitars don't have the crunch as much.
The songs on this album are all tunned half step down. And damn, they got goooooooddd!!!!!
I absolutely love this version. I love this particular album an awful lot because of the creative differences involved in it. Its an alternate version, and that's okay by me.
Generally, I prefer the Belladonna versions, but this one's damn good
This album got me into Anthrax. I think I prefer these raw recordings more than any other recordings of theirs; studio quality sound and live-show atmosphere.
John Bush for LIFE!!!!!!!
Bush vs. Belladonna aside (I like them both for different reasons), I really dig this version because you can hear the instruments better.
I like old songs with j. belladonna but i just love the band with j. bush ;)!!!
I love this version, Bush sounds different from Belladonna, but he did a great work here.
used to have this album it's the otherside of AnthraX and sound of white noise was a good album as well..
John Bush is the reason I stuck with Anthrax, just stop hating and turn it off and listen to something that soothes your soul people.
Anthrax sound more brutal with John Bush.
+Victor Ribeiro god damn right vic!
+Victor Ribeiro I disagree, Anthrax sounds so alternative with John Bush, I like him, but Joey Belladonna is the real deal.
Life is shit and always has been, this song is a godsend!!
I prefer Joey, but Bush brought a more "modern" 90's vibe along with his gruffer vocals. It's interesting hearing his renditions of the 80s 'Thrax songs. I have to say the production value is SO much better on these re-recorded versions. Either way, Anthrax rules! \m/
With this song, I love how John gave it and the band more of a thrash metal sound, even though joey’s voice was amazing
For this batch of songs some would call it a greatest hits I prefer these versions over the originals.
@aceshigh23650 The singer last year was Dan Nelson, but he left. Joey is back in Anthrax for the new album now.
sea Belladonna o Bush esta rola siempre se escuchara de huevos!!!!
Yeah, and plus Rob doesn't solo over the last chorus which sounded amazing on the original.
This man is a fucking animal!!!...Fucking rock on!!!!!!
The thing you have to do is forget the Belladonna version you already know, nd imagine that this was the first and only version you have ever heard. With that mind-set, it is obvious that this is the superior version. After all, this was the type of singer the band always wished they had.
I prefer Joey's version, but doesn't mean I don't love this!
Fucking awesome version from 2005 album...
It's great to see that beladona is back !
John's voice thrash my ears!
o bagulho é foda sem ideia kkk
thx
John Bush is Anthrax
This version is so much better. Bush has a gruffer voice and its not as cheesy. This album fucking rules
@konejo197666 Man, he destroyed Joey on Gung-Ho, he destroyed Turbin in Panic and Deathrider, the other songs in the album were very good too, but...it's true that this isn't the best version of Lone Justice...
I see everyone bitching about Bush's voice, yet no one seems to notice how Rob f*cked up the solo!
finally someone agree with me.
They both rock but the band appears to get along w/ John much better.
Sounds pretty good, but I prefer Joey on the older stuff.
Sounds like a complete joke compared to the original. Now I remember why I never bought this CD. Sound of White Noise and Stomp 442 though..hell yeah
you can say that bush is an amazing singer (i wont discuss that) but all of you have to admit that his voice doesn't belong to the anthrax original sound
@anthraxleon well,whe didn't write music,so it's not his fault
why dosent he do any higher pitch vocals? i know he can get higher than that
Bush doesn't suck as a singer. But I must admit the belladonna voice is better in this song.
They're just one tone of difference... Jezz...
I love ALL ANTHRAX but I have yet to hear John do Joey justice in or out of the studio. It's like nearing Roth trying ANYTHING Hagar did w/ Van Halen. tiene su estilo y en lo personal creo q lo modifico para sonar bien pero no mejor
It was greater with their old vocalist. Still great song! Anthrax ftw.
He altered the melody a little bit, but it's not that bad. Ray Alder from Fates Warning in the early days would have done justice to this song.
The thing that sucks, is that John Bush could 100% sing "his" version of any Neil/Joey song. But Joey really can't sing most John songs very well, if at all.
Cool, but Joey is more dynamic, in my opinion, ANTRAX rules !
Have you ever heard old school Armored Saint.... John Bush has incredible range.
TheShadowBrigade not here tho
This song still bangs but your entitled to your shit opinion
Sounds like its sung in a monotone at a karaoke bar. This is one of Joey's songs that Bush should have left alone.
I bet halfway through recording the album Scott was thinking "Fuck, he is really killing our classic songs", but they already paid the studio fees so decided to finish and put this shit out lol
Not hardly. Not ever.
Just no.
This song is only to be sang by Belladona! Nothing compared to the orginal or the live version on Alive 2.
joey is the man
Outro solo better on the original .
good try but belladonnas greater vocal range is why this song was good
wow..been an anthrax fan since the 80s and Bush is butchering this Joey classic
agreed no where near as good

Yeah, this was my first Anthrax album, but after i got all the Belladonna albums, i realised this sucks majorly.
I usually prefer Bush. Belladonna's great too, but I normally prefer Bush. But the Belladonnna version is much better in this case.
bush is a great great singer not question about it but he just not fit in anthrax
Not anymore he's not. The band fired Dan for undisclosed reasons.
Good riddance, I say. I never liked him much anyway.
The guitars don't have the crunch as much.
i agree i cant believe how terrible this song sounds with john bush singing it
Wow, this is really terrible. Bush is a good singer, but not for Anthrax. The high notes in the verses really make this song.
Belladona rules!!!
Woah..... um not a good song for his voice....
THE REAL SINGER WAS 10X BETTER
Belladonna, much better. Get over it.
This is terrible.
You know nothing.
Completely ruined the amazing guitar solo that was in the other version. So sad
Bush >>>>>>>>>> Belladonna
