BUT: Melatonin is not the pigment under your skin, thats melanin. Melatonin is a hormone produced in the pineal gland which is involved in regulation of the day/night cycle ;)

In my understanding, at the peak means there is several genes located there for different trains. How can I now know the specific genes that I am looking for understanding that it give out certain dorminant feature? How can I know if this gene is for yellow not red? Or it is for thorns but not resin etc?
