- Rest day. after cycling through the Mojave Desert, we got to Vegas by taxi because we ran out of inner tubes, then flew in a chopper over the grand canyon.

I'm glad that you guys are in much better spirits and have recharged your batteries. But, please note that while Las Vegas is located in America, it is NOT America. It is a playground, more akin to Disneyland ...with strippers ...and gambling.

Just make that the only helicopter ride of the trip. It’s not as fun when you’re in a helicopter because they are airlifting you out of Death Valley because you’re literally almost dead. This is the most epic thing ever. Please live through it. ❤️

You are my three favorite amegos on the Tube right now . Excited to see yours and Lawrences uploads of this massive adventure especially in some of the most rugged and beautiful country the south west offers . I warned you about flats , its not over yet . Although not everyones cup of tea you should of thought about running tubless or at the very least you should of bought tires as well as tubes with a bit more flat protection and a few more bottles . If you still plan on doing the Park remember that the cell phone reception is usually not good so if something bad happens no one will hear you scream , expect maybe a passing car , maybe ..
Going tubeless might help with all the thorns and other punctures you guys keep getting out there. Although idk how well Stan's or Slime will hold up to the road temps if you have patches literally melting on you.

Yeah, the hangover. Went to Vegas for a bachelor party about 7 or 8 years before that movie came out. I got a little freaked out when I saw it. It was a bit too eirally familiar. Great video and smart move to hitch a ride.

Ah, the classic hair dryer comparison. Hope your over the hump to Pahrump leg went well. You will have ridden by the location where I ran over a rattlesnake on my mountain bike years ago. Not certain why you are having so many flats but kevlar belted tires might make sense but you may need a bike that can handle 28C tires too.

We can still complain about the COL when it gets more expensive all the time and wages don't grow with it. I'd take expensive gas over crippling college tuition and medical costs.

Guys you need to use proper electrolytes. Go to a drug store and get some. Gateraid is not sufficient.
There is a new gatoraid sold in bike shops and run stores that is correctly formulated. But yeah, buy your supplements (gels, tabs and such) in athletic shops. For some reason you can buy the proper stuff in grocery stores only bike or running stores. The stuff sold in grocery stores is trash.
we have a bag of proper electrolyte powder, James just likes Gatorade for some reason.
