I like it, good looking radio, I wouldn't mind finding one of these at a fair price and adding it to my Cobra collection! All the ones I came across are always at a very high price tag! Nice video, 73 from next door in the green Mountains!
I still have a converted Robyn cb, that was converted at the factory to 10 meter amatuer band. I used it when the bands were in, and it operated flawlessly. I you have an opportunity to get one of these radios, you won't regret it !

I have always wanted the 150 and the 200 cobra radio but I would want one brand new in the box with no modifications whatsoever done to them... I love your channel .. thanks for the video.
Good video. I still have mine from new and power it up now and again. My cobra 200 is the revision 3 and the night watch works perfectly. Great looking radios. 73
Another great Video Nek! Nice to see different radios and get some info as to what options they have. Helps to make a more informative decision when possibly buying one in the future.
@ lol yeah I had one setup in my mobile, and one as a base, at one point, and I have my original V.1 low S/N one that I purchased back when they first came out. I might sell one not sure yet because they’re rare as hens teeth nowadays.
I had a couple chances to buy one of these over the years but I’ve heard so many horror stories of the technical problems I stayed away . But I wish Cobra would come back out with something that’s not so boring , with SSB , stable , several bands and 150 watts !!
aww man, you break my heart now. We are going live tomorrow night. Tonight is the night for the bigger players. 21SC, Old radio net. I will be joining. See you there
I had one they are nice but the sad shame with these is once the nightwatch panel goes bad you can’t repair or replace it Otherwise it’s a very capable radio
been there with the 200gtl. nice looking radio but there is a problem that needs to be fixed with the bias on the driver RD16HHF. if you google you will see. there were other things too
Those aren't gold. Maxon used poor grade plastic for the nightwatch faceplate that degrades rather quickly to a light brownish color.Especially if the radio was used in a vehicle and exposed to direct sunlight
Don't power it with more than 14.2 volts, it'll blow up. Had 6 of them, all of them blew up as soon as they were powered up in the mobile, which was at 14.2 volts.
My 200DX, cooked my Manson swtchmode and my Powertech Linear power supplies, it runs fine on my Yaesu FP700 (20amp)..I have never got an answer why it cooked my other 2 supplies.
I am not familiar with this radio. I AM familiar with the 29... and you can NOT adjust the SWR. The word "set" refers to setting the needle so when the switch is flipped it will tell you what the SWR is. I used to work at a repair shop and had customers argue with me about that meter function. If you believe you can adjust your SWRs and you may have a high REAL SWR, you could smoke you finals. We had a couple customers did just that. After a couple final replacements, they had us adjust their antenna, they said they had a better performing radio and we never had to change out the finals again.
Can't stand that one one one guy don't understand what he gets out of it. Only thin I can think of is no one will communicate with him so he tries to aggravate everyone.
They looked the part , But they were junk , So many issues and problems with them ...... The amount of these radios I've repaired over the years I've lost count ........You'd have to pay me to have one .
Not a true Cobra there, made by Maxon not Uniden I've owned 2 and both had problems the nightwatch stops working, and they are prone to blowing the outputs
Uniden had already stopped producing radios for cobra by the time the 150 and 200 came out. RCI produces the 29 for them now. I've always been curious why they didn't just let them build a 10m radio instead of Maxon

Killer Radio ! Yours is only the second one I have seen . The cooling fins are very impressive. When was it made ?
Good Video.
Thank you for watching. It was made in the early 2000's. I couldn't find more info
What a nice radio. Lucky you
I had this Radio for 15 Years. Liked it way more than the RCI-2970N2.
I have this one and the 2970DX. I like them both. I don't which one to keep..!!

Good looking radio. I've seen a few on the market over here but most have a gold looking face. I don't think they have the amp built in either. ✌✌

Crap radios with cheap Maxon boards. The REAL Cobra exports, Uniden made, early 1980s, will never be duplicated. They were the best.

2, 2290's. More than a 100 watt radio
I try not to stretch the finals. It went above 100 because i was using a power mic. With a stock mic it only does about 90ish

I wouldn't really call that an amateur radio with it being based on banks of 40 and 10kHz channels. It's not a pleasant way of operating on 10 metres.
It is a compromise yes, but the output power is that makes it desirable. Thank you for your comment.
