  • In this video, I share with you my experience with the reliability of the E90/92 BMW 3-series platform, which consisted of owning three different E90/92 platforms: 2008 BMW 328i (E90), 2011 BMW 335i (E90), and 2007 BMW 328i Coupe (E92). Enjoy!

    Engine and transmission (manual) are reliable (325/328i), it’s everything around it that is not reliable… all BMW seals are garbage and eventually leak (70-100k mi), thermostat/waterpump, coils (60-90k), Vanos solenoids (60k) , coolant expansion tank, radiator and coolant hoses (replace every 80k).
    I got so tired of each item breaking one at a time, I replaced it all regardless if they are broken or not, as they’ll break soon. If you wish to get the 325/328i, proactively change it all and you’ll have a good experience, without worrying about it for a long time.
    There are very few automakers who still make rear wheel drive with inline 6 engines. If Japan made some still, I’d probably go that route. I just love the smooth in-line 6 and rear wheel drive chassis. They are a rare breed and BMW e90 is one of the last without being turbocharged.

      You're absolutely right in terms of changing all the parts at once. Because they are the same age, if one part fails, the other is probably going to follow not long afterwards. I love BMW's NA inline 6 engines paired with 6 speed MT and RWD layout as well. Thank you for your comment, and stay tuned for more videos!

      I notice you said the engine and transmission are reliable .. but then you added (manual). Is the automatic transmission and engine not reliable?

    Nice ride! I found an 11' E92, 3 owners with 60K, asking $14K. Is that a good deal?

      Thanks, buddy. Is it a manual or an automatic? Is it a 328i or a 335i?

      @@Unplugged704 When I traded my 2008 BMW 328i in with MT and 79k miles in 2013, I was paid $14k for the trade in. That was 8 years ago. The $14k price is probably a little too steep for an automatic. I'd try to see if you can get it in the $10k - $12k range. If it were a manual, and therefore much more rare and desirable by enthusiasts, I can see people paying $14k.
      Having said that, you will love the car, and the car is certainly worth the $14k price tag for what you get. But I think you may be able to find a better deal for an automatic.

      @@asad4571 I would probably get a pre-purchase inspection just so you know the condition of the car and how much you may have to spend. Assuming the car is in generally good condition, you will get an awesome car at a great price. If you were to buy a new BMW, the taxes alone would probably cost you as much as you are paying for this car. Keep me posted on what you decide to do, buddy.

    I own a 328i 195k miles how long yall think it will last me?

    • @GogoMotoring
      @GogoMotoring  2 месяца назад +1

      I have heard of people getting 300k miles on the N52 engine. It’s bullet proof and can go on for a long time. You will need to replace certain things due to wear and tear, but it is one of those BMWs that is built to last.

      Thanks for your comment, bud. I actually did a comprehensive review of the 2015 BMW 328i on my channel, so you may want to check it out. I like the 428i as well. It’s a great looking car as well, and it also has its own place in the history of BMW. Stay tuned for more videos!

    What’s your opinion on the 2011 325i?

    • @GogoMotoring
      @GogoMotoring  Год назад +1

      We did not have that model in the U.S. We had the 328i, which has a bit more horsepower. But I would like it just as much the 328i. Same engine, same power delivery, same magic formula. Thanks for your comment, and stay tuned for more videos!

    Any reason you went back to a 328 from a 335?

    • @GogoMotoring
      @GogoMotoring  Год назад +1

      I loved my 335i as well, but the main reasons I went back to the 328i were the following:
      1. Manual transmission. My 335i was an automatic.
      2. Last opportunity to drive a naturally aspirated inline 6 engine. All new cars at the time were turbo charged.

      They’ll know what to look for. But I would check for oil leaks (oil pan and valve gaskets), make sure heating and AC are working, water pump and thermostat status (have they been replaced), tires, brakes, and suspension wear and tear.
