Watch some video's of The Adelaide River Croc Jumping Cruises, that will get your adrenaline going 😂 It's about an hour or so drive from Darwin on the Arnhem Hwy heading towards Kakadu National Park.
you might like to check out 'the great white sharks" (that IS the name this most dangerous shark is called) while encased in a cage lowered into the sea off the shore from near Port Lincoln in South Australia. There is no plexi glass in a shark cage - Just some metal bars to protect you. The great white sharks can bite into an adult person - severing the body into two pieces at the waist area for the shark to eat. I ONLY swim in swimming pools - no one can ever convince me to swim in deep water off shore
Salties can live a very long time, can inhabit both saltwater and freshwater, and can grow to over 20ft in length. They are ambush predators, and are very intelligent and aggressive. They've been known to patiently stalk fisherman and wait for the right opportunity to launch an attack. I saw one in the surf at Cable Beach in WA a few years back, fortunately I wasn't in the water as the beach had been closed, but it was terrifyingly huge, even seen from dry land. Just cruising in the waves.
Aussies aren’t scared of being eaten by salties because we know not to go near the rivers at the Top End. Tourists are another story. “How many deaths in Australia from crocodiles? Crocodile attacks Australia: How common are they? The attacks usually occur in either Queensland and the NT and occasionally in the northern parts of Western Australia. Crocodiles have killed 30 people in Australia in the past 25 years, with the annual tally peaking at four in 2014.” “Of the 254 confirmed and reported animal-related deaths during the 10-year period from 2000 to 2010, horses, cows and dogs were the most frequent culprits, accounting for 137 deaths. Horses (including ponies and donkeys) were the most ‘deadly’ animal in Australia, causing 77 deaths in 10 years, mostly related to falls. Cows (including bulls and cattle/bovine) accounted for 33 deaths. The remaining 27 deaths were from dog attacks on toddlers and the elderly.”
Most people in Australia don't encounter Crocs, roos, or other wildlife very often, if at all...... so I would say most Aussies biggest fear is the bloody Magpie, and that can bring so much laughter to those watching on and witnessing said attacks because the Maggie is relentless 😂😂
Cool vid. Keep in mind that croc attacks and beach drownings have an exceptionally high percentage of people from overseas. Reason? Most locals know what they are doing and respect these things completely. Plenty of thrills to be had without playing with huge saltys or swimming in rips. Just my opinion but be careful.
When you said you thought Aussies were scared of kangaroos at first, that made me realise you know so very little about us despite your attempts to know about Australia. Kangaroos in the wild are not dangerous if you keep away from them and we are certainly not scared of them or really any animal if you respect them.
Aren't you just a ray of friggin sunshine...... perhaps if there weren't so many videos of roos attacking people, then people from overseas wouldn't get that impression, but there's no need to be such an arsehole. If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, then say nothing!!!!!!
This is in Darwin, N.T Australia, it's located in the city on Cavanagh street Is called Crocosaurous Cove. I grew up in Darwin. Golden Rule of reducing your risk of being taken by a croc is don't go near or in rivers & creeks etc, of there are Croc warning signs or a popular swimming, spot is closed due to a croc sighting, pay attention & stay outta the water. Crocs will see you well before you see them & despite that size they can move fast.
I fell ten metres or thirty feet headfirst at a tourist destination in South-East Queensland Australia called Utopia onto Granite and survived as an Aussie here😅
What you think we are scared of a kangaroo ? 😂😂😂 Our biggest killer here is the sun we are the melanoma capital of the world im more scared of it than anything else . ✌️
probably the actually most feared animal is either the redback spider(super small, easy to miss and deadly AF) or the blue ringed octopus(beautiful little octopus smaller than your hand and also, deadly AF)
Definately the Redback is one to avoid, I was bitten by one 30 years ago, within 2 hours I was unconscious and taken to hospital by friends. The pain was next level.
Only a person can be literally insane. This seems like the only adjective Americans can come up with these days, but there are thousands of others to choose from if you all expand your vocabulary. Edit: It seems you said “literally saying” so I misheard you. The over use of the adjective still applies to the US because I hear it a dozen times a day! 😳 (This is probably why I misheard you, because my brain was ready for it.)
The largest Australian saltwater crocodiles could swallow a Florida alligator whole. The main targets of the largest salties are great white sharks, and shark heads frequently wash up on beaches.
Australian Saltwater Crocodiles are no joke. I known 'salty' territory (yes we pet named them) you don't go near the water if you know what's good for you.
I don't know anything about Crocosaurus Cove, but what was shown in that video didn't seem very croc-friendly (small enclosure, clear water, humans getting dunked in etc.). If you want to check out salties, maybe try a wildlife sanctuary - they're less of a tourist trap. You won't get the perfect Instagram shot, but it'll be a more authentic experience and be kinder to the animals.
I live in Darwin and have visited and 100% agree. However most of the crocs are wild ‘problem’ crocodiles that lived near people and were attacking people or animals. Same with many of the large crocs at Crocodilus Park and the Territory Wildlife Park (some have actually eaten people). These crocs would have alternatively ended up at a leather/meat farm or culled. Not justifying it, but the alternatives weren’t much better
Ive never panicked about animals if yout not sure stay away ive lived in the bush outback most of my 64 years ive handled snakes poisonous spiders and the deadliest creature is man then horses dogs cattle sharks in no order you just stay away if you don't know a animal you don't go into someone's yard when they have dog thats barking at you so if you stay away from our animals there Great to watch from a distance use your brain

Well, enough of the indigenous get taken as well!
Yeah plenty up north go near them fishing and boating 😊
from Mr Google, 1-2 people die from crocodile attacks per year with around 1000 world wide per year

I live in Darwin and that cage is in Crocosaurus Cove in the CBD on Mitchell Street

to be fair, a red kangaroo is a beefy fecker that has no fear of us.

Crocosaursus Cove is on Mitchell St not Cavenagh. Live in Darwin now. I walked past it yesterday 😊
@CarolynMcKay-gz7ud ~ Yes, you are right 🙂 My apologies I got the street wrong, thank you for the correction 😊

The apparatus that is attached to and lowers/raises the Cage Of Death has broken multiple times in the past, but has been strengthened since.
Crocosaurus Cove. Tourist attraction.
This is the closest thing to a dragon in real life. Well, there is Komodo, but I’d argue they both have the same epicness.
Dragons not real
A kangaroo 😂
We also have shark cages where you can go down in ocean
The shark will swim around you

I have been to Crocasaurus Cove and I would definitely recommend to go there

Most Aussie aren't scared of kangaroos but crocs are very scary
Walking along the other month and there was a freshie hanging out in the water next to the path.
Said hi and phuqdoff
Aligator was a horror about 1 released into sewers and went feral

The crocodile cage is cruel to the croc…it has to face disappointment everytime it can’t get to a prey.

There are better tourist attractions on the River up there with the wild jumping crocodiles. Much more fun.
Meh, Im from Australia and Im more worried about magpies and flying roaches than crocs.

I visited this place a year ago and thought the same thing I felt bad for the crocks and didn’t like it at all .
