    Episode 4 Notes
    Pre Islamic Arabia
    • It was Ibrahim AS who sanctioned making Makkah a Haram and the 4 months where fighting is prohibited.
    • The Prophet SAW told us that it was Amr ibn Luhay who first brought paganism into Arabia and polluted the religion of Ibrahim AS.
    • The idol Hubal was actually the first idol brought in to Arabia from the Amalekites in Syria by Amr ibn Luhay.
    • Amr ibn Luhay was around when the tribe of Khuza'ah controlled Makkah and he was the chieftain, which is why he was able to spread paganism so much.
    • From the time of Ibrahim AS, Allah SWT has announced the Hajj and is eternally calling people to come and do Hajj. So therefore this is why he say the Talbiyah when we do Hajj.
    • The Roman Empire wasn’t always Christian and they were for the longest time pagans. For 300 years, the Christians debated on what Christianity was. Until, Emperor Constantine became a Christian and adjourned the council of Nicaea in 325 and dictated, that official Christianity is Pauline Christianity. It was Constantine who dictated what books would be a part of the bible. This led to the Roman Empire banishing Jewish Christianity.
    • The Roman Empire was Christian and the Sasanid Empire of Persia was Zoroastrian, at the time of Prophet SAW.
    • The Qur’an mentions that the 5 ancient pagan false gods from the time of Nuh AS were resurrected by the pagan Arabs prior to Islam.
    Salman Al Farsi
He was born to a Zoroastrian priest and because of an encounter with a Christian monk, he converted to Christianity. This monk was a Jewish Christian and he sent Salman to another Jewish Christian monk in Syria. This 2nd monk then told Salman of another monk and Salman kept going from one monk to another after each one died. He did this 4 times until the 4th monk, told him that he knew of no other people who followed Jewish Christianity. So this 4th monk told him that, soon a new Prophet is going to come and that he should go to find this man. The monk told him 3 signs that led Salman to Medina, where he finally met Prophet Muhammad SAW, after he migrated there. He accepted Islam after seeing the physical seal of the Prophet SAW and he became one of the oldest companions.
Fun Trivia fact: Zayd ibn Amr is a one man ummah without any prophet. He is the father of Sa’id Ibn Zayd who was one of the 10 promised Jannah.
Fun Trivia fact: The people of Nuh AS were the first to invent idolatry according to the Qur’an.
    ==========================================================
Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series:
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.
Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

And our prophet (PBUH). How much He was merciful towards mankind!
He himself planted the seeds to free Salman (R). Just for an age old slave, when He was already the king of Madina. How much He cared His fellows!
I would like to add another lesson from Salman's life. Care people based on their Taqwah, not anything others.

    These are my notes :
    ● Understanding the Arab lands and their culture helps us to be more appreciative of the blessings of Islam and the Quran and loving our Prophet (SAW) even more.
    ○ The arabs of that region were the followers of the religion of Ibrahim (AS) they worshipped Allah, revered the ka'abah and held on to those beliefs until....
    ○ A man by the name of Amr Ibn Luha Al Khuzai introduced an idol (as well introducing superstitions) after his trips from : Amalkites or as the arabs say "Aamaleeq" which is modern day Syria.
The prophet (SAW) saw him in the fire of hell.
●While almost all of Arabia was submerged in shirk there were a few people who knew that this is not the religion of Ibrahim (AS) and did not worship the Idols. They are called "Hanafeeyah" meaning they wanted to follow the true religion of Ibrahim which is Islam which had been corrupted. So they moved out of makkah in search of the truth
    ○ Qas Ibn Saidah was not a qureshi he belonged from another tribe outside of makkah and he was one such person who opposed the corrupted religion. after some years he had passed away his tribe came to the Prophet (SAW) to accept Islam and then upon Prophet (SAW's) recited they recited his poetry and the prophet SAW liked it as it mentioned about the message of Tawheed and the hereafter.
    The FOUR Haneefi:
    1. Waraqah Ibn Noufal : he's the first male convert who accepted Islam before the Prophet SAW even started his da'awah. He was a Christian before because he knew the paganism was not the right way to worship Allah. Christianity was the closest thing to worshiping Allah. He passed away within a few hours after accepting Islam.
    2. Obaid illah Ibn Jaash : accepted Islam but then reverted back to Christianity when he arrived in Abbysinnia
    3. Usman Ibn Huwarith : accepted Christianity most likely didn't hear about islam so he didn't die a muslim.
    4. Zaid Ibn Anwar : one man Ummah. Passed away before the da'awah begin. Lived a righteous life. Saved many girls who were gonna be buried alive by raising them. Was a generous soul. The prophet saw saw him in Jannah.
A finally a king heracules who came to the conclusion that the prophet (SAW) is the messenger of Allah but didnt accept because he couldn't give up his position of power.

The shocking thing is, every time the pagans have been called towards Allah, the reply was, "We have found our Forefathers on these idols."
But, when the Amr Ibn Luhai al Khuja'i brought the idols in the time when there was pure Ibrahimi Relegion, nobody just opposed him and said, "We can't accept your idols. We found our forefathers on this religion."
Perhaps, there's crucial role of the Iblis to make those idols acceptable.

    • @celestialknight2339
      @celestialknight2339 6 лет назад +3

Naimulmusfiq Naim Yea, that’s a very good point brother. You are right, I am sure Iblis had a large role to play, which is exactly the reason why that after the conquest of Mecca when paganism essentially disappeared from Arabia, the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said that there would be no more worship of Iblis (i.e idols/false gods/jinn) after today. So the Hadith supports that.
Also, i think another reason is what Allah (swt) in the Quran says, which is that the pagans have not rejected the message of Islam except out of pride and that they did not accept that Allah (swt) could sent a human being as a messenger, and instead thought that He should send angels. In addition to this, we can say that it may have been easier for people to accept new gods in ADDITION to Allah (swt) which they already worshiped. But it was harder for them to ABANDON their old gods and just stick to accepting and worshipping Allah (swt).
And finally, keep in mind that Amr bin Luhayy was the chief leader of the main Khuzaa’a tribe, as Sheikh Yasir Qadhi said. So when he accepted the idols, his people did as well. And this is EXACTLY what actually happened with many of the tribes and Islam, if you look at the Sirah. When a tribal leader accepted the message of Islam, the entire tribe accepted it also. So actually the same thing can be seen with accepting Islam in large groups, just as it was when false paganism was introduced long ago. Hope that sheds some new light on your comment. Salam.

"Clarification notice from Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi:
UbaydAllah ibn Jahsh was married to Umm Habiba not Umm Salama. The Prophet (saw) married Umm Habiba bint Abi Sufyan after she separated from UbaydAllah ibn Jahsh.
The mention of Umm Salama at 40 mins 40 secs of this video was a slip of the tongue. Umm Salama was married to Abu Salama."
From the description of the video, like it so people see it. I almost missed it

@Yasir Qadhi Ya Sheikh Ubaidullah bin Jahsh was married to Umm Habeeba and not Umm Salama as mentioned 40:41. I’m sure that it must have been a slip of the tongue... but just wanted to bring to your notice!
Masha Allah this series is very beneficial and May Allah reward you immensely for this!
    Jazakallah Khair!

I noticed that too and had to rewind back to hear if I had heard correct but was confused as I know this to be incorrect. جزك الله خير sister Ameena for writing it in your comments so that others can be aware that there was a slip of the tongue on the sheikhs part. May Allah swt reward his efforts and those of our fellow Muslims also. Ameen

I have read a Bengali short story- Birth of A God. The same person who dug out from the road as he felt on him, he started to pray to it seeking protection from a disease.
Another scenario is presented in PK movie.
This things are also true to this day

Small correction, one of the hunafa, ubaidallah bin Jash who became muslim and then apostasized in abyssiniah:: was married to Umm Habeebah(RA)[1] not Umm Salamah(RA)[2] as stated in the video.
    [1][who later married the Prophet(pbuh)]
[2][who also married the Prophet(pbuh) after Abu Salamah was martyred]

In regards to Asmaa being 20 years older:
    According to Ibn Kathir:
"she [Asma] was elder to her sister [Ayesha] by ten years". (Al-Bidayah wa'l-nihayah, Ibn Kathir, Vol 8, Pg 371, Arabic, Dar al-fikr al-`arabi, Al-jizah, 1933)
    Wa Allahu Alam.
