  • In war and statecraft, there is no substitute for strategy. However, the concept of strategy is subject to unending debate, confusion, and redefinition. Today, the global status quo is sharply contested, and the prospect of war between nuclear-armed states is frighteningly real. The New Makers of Modern Strategy: From the Ancient World to the Digital Age (Princeton University Press, 2023) is the next generation of the definitive work on strategy and the key figures who have shaped the theory and practice of war and statecraft.
Join AEI’s Hal Brands and Kori Schake in a conversation with Johns Hopkins University’s Francis J. Gavin and the Hudson Institute’s Walter Russell Mead on the release of The New Makers of Modern Strategy and its perspectives on strategic thought from antiquity to the present.

Regarding the point where theories or strategies on both sides of a conflict are being proven wrong, wouldn't it be the perfect grounds for disinformation campaigns which don't only affect the enemy, but allies as well?
