This was another interesting update, as always. I’m glad to see the plants rebounding. As you say, figure it out and then (hopefully) they rebound! When I see a plant putting out new growth, I really like to see what they can do. Thanks to the transcript I looked up some of your plants. You have a nice variety and I look forward to blooms.
Yea everything is rebounding back! Nice! Those dang mites are a huge pain! Once the plant is free, they definitely turn around! Shows how hardy and how much they want to live! 😊 good video!
I had problems with spider mites too. They sure can do a lot of damage to orchids. I think I’ve got it under control now. Some of my Phalaenopsis I lost 😡 but others came fighting back. Thanks for sharing because my orchids looked just like yours. 🤗🥰
Yes, I love it when that happens! Its also great that I am still learning about orchids after growing for over 30 years! Definitely a hobby that keeps you on your toes.
Mites particularly like catts and phals if they can choose; I lost most of my novelty phals three years ago after a massive mite infestation. I am building up again my phal collection now; to do that I have to closely monitor the humidity level in my growspace, especially during the dry and hot autumn in my place.
Thanks for the idea about mounting a bulbophyllum on a terra cotta pot. I have a pot that does not have a drainage hole and I've always wondered what to do with it!
I’ve a small collection of catasetum and this year there was an attack of mites. It was very difficult to fight. In fact I lost some plants and had few flowers!
I was wondering if your phals were okay. I had mites w/o webbing in 21. It took me too long to figure it out. The plants developed black rot because they were so weak. I learned something and the plants that survived are still with me, and still bear the scars. Fred Clarke will be addressing my local AOS group, and bringing plants for sale. It should be great!
They are always around and get into collections via many avenues, mostly new plants. Definitely keep an eye out for them! You’re 99.99999% likely to get them at some point.
Did you say you posted a video about the spider mites?? I didn't find it ! I am glad everything is starting to pull through!! I don't think I have ever had spider mites so I want to learn all I can because I know it will happen some day 😜😂😂😂

I'm sorry to hear about losing the collection! Hopefully your collection is almost back to its former glory.
Looks great. Those lights are like Jedi Dogs.
The lights are sooooo bright! 🙌

Fred canceled his trip to Texas in August, something really bad must have happened. Is he still visiting y’all?
The meeting is June 12th, as far as I know he's still coming. 🤞
@@mipogrow I hope so! Let me know if he does visit. I've been wondering about what happened.
Uff! So glad you managed to get rid of the mites!
Yes! Time to get back to fragrant flowers in the house!😃
Everything looks awesome. Where do the spider mites come from? I have all my orchids inside should I be watching for them?
