Outside of Baldurs Gate this expac is the first time I feel like I'm getting well over the value paid on a game in maybe a year or two??? Been so disappointed by content/cash ratio maybe I'm just happy AoE4 is still alive AND exceeding that value expectation.
Just wait till you see the power creep because some old civs cant compete

@@ape13 you are clearly not high enough rank to worry about power creep, im couq 1, so far I only felt ayubid and zhuxi might be stronger than everyone else, some of the alt civ is straight up downgrade. OOTD and JD are mah, Japan are ok later. Byzantine is to complicated even for conq player. TBH, when looking at these civ, you just think, is it better than rus? answer is most likely not. Rus still due for a nerf

tbh i dont like that byzantines can get gold from killing vils. it seems like something that should have been saved for sweden/danes/vikings--they already have olive oil as a gold substitute, do they really need that too?

The new dlc is kinda rough rn, ONLY because i havent bought it yet, but yes the old civs do have a hard time keeping up. Especially when i get qued up with a pc player on ranked being as im on console 😢

The ONLY thing about this dlc that sucks is that Japanese have a big bug that atleast on xbox causes crashes and disconnects. Both for the one playing Japanese and against. Other than that it's had a few other bugs on Xbox. Can't wait for ranked tho

If ur low elo. In diamond its not so hot. Jeanne Otto's japs Rus ayuubids are all hard counters. Japs trap u in feudal with shinobis into mass spam Rus does it too and Jeanne Otto's just rush imperial and bombard them too hard

So the rocket does not do AOE dmg… that doesn’t seem worthy as an imperial landmark
Rocket is a ohk on damn near everything, and you can get it in Castle Age on the TC (and you can still put a cannon on it). If it had double AoE attacks it would be way overkill.
@@leiderhosen7110 I understand the balance issue for the Daimyo one in TC. But the Imperial landmark one seems lame to me not having AOE
@@noirhftam2824 I see your point, but the thing is CotC is an ECON landmark, like Sea Gate, not a defensive one like Red Palace or Berkshire. It wouldn't make sense if it had crazy aoe weapons atop its econ bonus as well.
Looks like Japanese is not a very strong civ, especially compared to the byzantines

Japan is mid I think. They CAN be very powerful, but they take work to understand, you can't just print royal knights and win.

It's true though, it just isn't a good RTS game. It isn't competitive because it isn't balanced, the Esports community is extremely small despite tons of money being pumped in to it. Certain factions being favored against other factions, certain factions being favored on certain maps IE fishing access... It's just silly. The people you show playing in videos don't even micro or target fire siege. This game makes Starcraft 2 look like the golden age of RTS games, which is funny to me because everyone who played Starcraft thought it was imbalanced. This game has like 1% of the popularity Starcraft had and it's for good reason. @@AussieDrongo

If you all let me convince you then I believe that you can stop playing, and boycott until a better game is made. If you keep giving your money to Microsoft Games for new factions that you have to pay for on top of the base game you already paid for... they are going to keep offering that to you forever. They will continue to make sub-par games that are inferior to games from 15 and even 20 years ago, then release more DLC.
