    So I picked up a bunch of scrap from a friend's business. Last time I picked things up, I got a bunch of Broken LCD screens and about 20 really old desktop computers. This time I got really lucky. I told him even though they were not working that he had some decent stuff. He didn't want to bother and gave me everything. Well someone else trash is someone else treasure as in about $600 worth of stuff to sell on eBay.

    So how is this a "How to?" You dont show how to actually make money off of them. What category to list them user, what keywords to use and who to target for these items.

    It's easy to set up a few PSUs to cover everything then test parts to sell as known working. Use live USBs prepared with Ventoy and various test .isos.

    They two boards were server motherboards. Which is why they had extra dimm slots for ram

      +Jack Mehoff I figured they were not regular desktop computers. They were the oldest ones i got and they had some good value

      +Champlainscrap Yup, a lot of gamers are building systems with them these days cause of the extra dimm slots. If you get one of the cpus designed for server KEEP it! They are expensive to buy! you could get some good money from them.

      +Anthony Colangeli Yeah I got some good stuff but it goes to show you that scrap[ping is not always about destroying everything and if you're careful you could make some good money. There was a local guy that used to go around and all the decent looking stuff he would hold on to and then in the summer would have big garage sales.

    I just got 25 pentium 3 computers and 10 old cell phones.10 computers still working, OS Win98 :)
    What do you think, how mutch gold I can scrap from them.

    • @champlainscrap6076
      @champlainscrap6076  7 лет назад

      Probably not that much. Another scrapper had made a video not too long ago and did a test. They had about 120 Ram gold fingers that he had cut. So the gold he had was plentiful, not sure if that's the right word but I'll go with it. He ended up getting about $40 worth of gold from them. From what you have, I would say less than $40 of gold

      The ram fingers is not at All the only Thing to scrab from old pc and other electronic scrab, money can be made easy iff you can get the stuff for picking it up its worth your time, strib every gold plated item bath them in nitric acid on some kind of heating device and when the reaction from the copper and other metals stops, you filter cleanse and in your homemade foundry;) forget Aqua regia a prober nitric cleaning is enough.

      if they're working, sell them as working. someone will eventually buy even if they are old . As far as gold value, it's hard to say. I have a more recent video showing you how much material you need to make about $100 worth of gold. It's quite a lot. Another scrap had made a video saying that they needed about 100 ram to make $40 of gold. It should give you an idea of how much scrap you need.

    I have a question ... The title of your video says that you can make approximately $600 breaking down those 8 computers.. I understand you'll be selling those items on eBay not to a scrapyard and that's where you came up with that figure.. Approximately how long do you think it would take to sell all those items?

    • @champlainscrap6076
      @champlainscrap6076  8 лет назад

      +A & J's Removal Services, LLC. If I aggressively price them, I would say in a month or 2 at most. I found that all these parts sell well.

    You might want to speak English as well as "computer" when you talk about scrapping computers. Us older viewers are quickly turned off by monotone computer talk
