Shifting in Thumb Position Lesson (Koussevitzky's Double Bass Concerto)

Classical bass expert Phoebe Russell teaches techniques to improve your shifting in and out of thumb position. Using an excerpt from Koussevitzky's Double Bass Concerto, Phoebe demonstrates using arm weight, the elbow as a lever and bow speed to make shifting around the fingerboard easier. She suggests using repertoire that you are working on to practice left hand technique, so that you can understand the application of that technique to your everyday playing.
