Bold ranking sir!! I respect your opinion but for me the Roth era wins the day. In Trance would be my number #1 Taken by Force at #2 and Blackout #3. Cheers from the Captain.
I knew I’d get a lot of push back for the Roth era low ranks. But it doesn’t mean I don’t like those albums. It’s just with so many good ones, some had to go at the end. Also I’m a child of the 80’s….

@@BrendonSnyder Taken By Force, Virgin Killers, In Trance & Tokyo Tapes. But I love Blackout, Lovedrive and I don't have Rock Believer and Humanity Hour 1 yet.
@@BrendonSnyder My favorite is Taken By Force, the first time I heard 'Sails of Charon', it blew me away. 'He's A Woman, She's A Man' also a killer, I like the live version from TOKYO TAPES better than the studio.
Interesting take, thanks for sharing. I almost always prefer studio albums to live, but Tokyo Tapes and World Wide Live have gotten a lot of plays over the years. Here's my top 10 studio lps: 1. Blackout 2. Virgin Killer 3. Taken By Force 4. Love at First Sting 5. Love drive 6. Animal Magnetism 7. In Trance 8. Crazy World 9. Fly to the Rainbow 10. Savage Amusement
Wow, Crazy World and Savage Amusement at 4 and 3 respectively. Highly unconventional ranking to say the least. I guess I will have to find may cassette copies and have a re-listen. Excellent ranking. Keep up the good work.
I thought so too....almost somewhat a mixed reversal of what I would pick...but hey, everyone is allowed to have an opinion. I watch these to see if I can see/hear what maybe I've been missing....(in otherwords, it's good to get a different "take" on things). Although, I will say this - it was good to see "Savage Amusement" rank higher than usual as I personally feel it's not apreciated and a bit often underrated.
Hey Brendon!! Great you have decided to do ranking of albums!! I love your channel and I'd love to see you make lots of vídeos of ranking the albums of bands you like. Cheers from Spain🤘🤘🤘
I’ve done lots of album rankings and even have a playlist that gathers them up for you making it easy to locate them. See link for the playlist ruclips.net/p/PLXugCGslmwqnh7lbJfkxjOs8CD6NtI3CT
My favourite era of Scorpions is the Uli Jon Roth so your personal ranking hurts me Brendon 😂 very cool video though, enjoyed it and interesting to see your opinion/take on their discography.
Well you said it…it’s just a personal ranking. I grew up with the band in the 80’s so that will always be my favorite period. I hope this wound heals…haha 😂
Rock Believer is the best album of Scorpions since Crazy World era. Call of the wild is masterpiece and Seventh Sun,Hot and Cold,Shoot for your Heart,Crossing Borders are great tunes.
Yeah, Rock Believer is a nice return to form! A little bit of everything that makes Scorpions special, guitars are out front, songs are dynamic and Klaus sounds stellar!
I won’t argue with that…but I do think they have made a valiant effort post 80’s making some classic sounding albums. Better than most bands have done that change too much and sometimes don’t even sound like themselves at this stage of their career. Scorpions still sound like the band we love. I’m thankful for that! 🙏
Good job Brenton. Accurate enough I would say, although in Europe the 70's albums are still popular, in global terms your ranking is closest to reality according impact and sales.
Those late 80's and early 90's Scorpions albums are underrated. A lot of people tend to favor the 70's Scorpions, but like you I grew up in the 80's and like those 80's albums a lot. Plus the production of those albums are top notch.
Great vid! I’ve always loved the band but didn’t get into them until the late 80s and still need several of the 70s albums for my collection. I’ve also missed out on the last few releases and with your high ranking of them has pushed them up the list to buy
Thanks for sharing. I was a fan when I was a young teenager in the late 70's/80's. I recently got turned back on to their music. Big fan of Michael Schenker & enjoy the Uli Roth years. Good honest ranking; Cheers!
I can’t argue with your ranking lol. Savage Amusement was the album where I discovered the band, made me a massive fan and became my favorite band. I love the 78-90 era though! I’ve always said Blackout and the title track is my favorite album and song and a few years ago I discovered it was released on my birthday, March 29th when I was 10 years, so I always give it a spin in celebration of my birthday.
1. Taken By Force (1977) 2. Fly to The Rainbow (1974) 3. Virgin Killer (1976) 4. In Trance (1975) 5. Animal Magnetism (1980) 6. Love at First Sting (1984) 7. Blackout (1982) 8. Lovedrive (1979) 9. Rock Believer (2022) 10. Crazy World (1990) 11. Savage Amusement (1988) 12. Humanity: Hour 1 (2007) 13. Unbreakable (2004) 14. Face The Heat (1993) 15. Lonesome Crow (1972) 16. Sting In The Tail (2010) 17. Return to Forever (2015) 18. Pure Instinct (1996) 19. Eye II Eye (1999)
Great listing, those 70s albums are immortal. Fly to the Rainbow is sublime, you can see why they garnered such respect. Artistically those 70s albums are their finest in my opinion. Second great era those wonderful 1979-1984 records. Two sterling live albums book ending- Tokyo Tapes and Worldwide live
No, I only rank studio albums. Live albums are like greatest hits collections and don’t cover one period making it hard to judge one against the other in my opinion.
Wow! Surprising ranking. The Roth era ranks much higher for me. Blackout is my fav album followed by Lovedrive, Virgin Killer & In Trance. Rock Believer would be much higher too. I'm still missing Pure Instinct. Interesting ranking! Cheers.
I’m sure there are lots of Roth era fans that will rank it much higher. But for me the run of albums from 1979 to 1993 is there best work. And there are a lot of albums during that period so it forces other great albums further back. But even the albums that fall at the end, I don’t dislike.
@@BrendonSnyder There's no right or wrong answer here, and it's interesting to hear someone else's point of view. They have such a big catalogue and lots of great albums. Cheers.
Great ranking, nice to hear, that someone else likes "Face the heat" a lot. It`s such an underrated album, hard, heavy, with a lot of great songs. Annotation to the song "Alien Nation", the song is not about the reunification of germany. The song is about the Los Angeles riots in the USA in 1992. Therefore the lyrics "in the city of Angels..."
IDK…going off info that I read about the song which said it was about reunification of German. But maybe the song is such that it can have double meanings.
Hi Brendon!! good job doing this ranking of such a long running band..... i guess if i ever do one won't have the late 90's albums so high, however we do agree with the bottom of your list. Still need to get all the Uli Jon era to my collection, been looking after the 50th anniversary edition they put out, but kind of $$$. cheers and be well
I love the early albuns, culminating in Tokyo Tapes, also love all the others until "love at first sting", after that not so good for my taste. One of my favorite bands when i was a kid, nowadays i keep returning to the Uli Roth period.
Pretty solid ranking, and I completely agree with the Top 3. (Savage Amusement is underrated. Summer of 1988, I listened to that album nearly every day.) After that, my #4 would be Lovedrive, with Animal Magnetism coming in at #5.
Scorpions are way underrated. Most people have no idea about any of the great songs before Love at First Sting (apart from No One Like You). There are so many awesome rockers.
I would definitely rank the early Uli Roth albums way above anything they did from the late 90s through the early 2000s . From what I have heard on the new one it should easily be in the top 10 too.
Ummm, I became a fan with Love at First Sting. But no doubt, the UJR era is the best with Taken by Force as #1. Sails of Charon is a masterpeice. @@BrendonSnyder
Really unconventional Scorpions album ranking here. I do agree with the bottom pick. Classics like Taken By Force and one of my favourites Virgin Killer are so low, ranked even behind an album like Pure Instinct? Wow. Never seen that. Each to their own though. If I had to pick a number one I’d say maybe Lovedrive
Guess I’ll be hear that line a lot. But I grew up with the band in the 80’s and they made so many great albums between 1979 and 1993 that I just couldn’t bump any for other great albums like the Roth era. Just because they’re low doesn’t mean I don’t like them. But something has to fall at the last spots.
Thank you Brendon, this video had to be done 😁 It's interesting to see how the 1988-1990 period holds a special place in your rankings : Alice Cooper's Trash, Aerosmith's Pump, Motley Crue's Dr Feelgood and Scorpions' Savage Amusement. I guess the albums we discovered as we were teenagers will always mean a little more !
Yes that’s very true. Often times the first albums or songs we hear from the band become our favorites regardless of how successful they are and what others think.
UFO did a live show i think in 86 or 87, and they did Doctor Doctor live, of course, but it was like a 12 minute song. i was wondering who played guitar on that song. guy had wild hair. it was fantastic. Was Schneker not on lead guitar?
Good job, Brendon. I agree with top three. You had me revisit Savage Amusement several months ago, and now I appreciate it more. The one I love which is so low in your listing is Humanity Hour 1. This album absolutely blew me away when I first heard it. I can’t remember the last time an album had that feeling for me when I first heard it. This would be my go-to album just like Amusement is for you. The choruses and hooks for me were amazing and the songs consistent.
Hi Eugene, that’s interesting to hear. Perhaps it didn’t connect with me as I’m not a fan of Nu Metal or the contemporary sounds that they used on the album. Of course it’s just my opinion by I find myself uninterested before the end of the album where that doesn’t happen on others. I still have hopes that one day it will connect with me.
I’ve been fortunate to see them 3 times. The first being in 1994, then in the early 2000’s and finally in 2017. Out of the 3 shows the last one was the best.
@@BrendonSnyder our concert was the only one that was even remotely close. They were the opening act for Motley Crue. I thought Crue were a bunch of pigs and Scorpions were a class act. Before the show they came out in the lobby and just hung out and talked to people. No coughing up extra money to see them backstage and on top of it they put on a killer performance.
Superb Brendon...love the ranking of the scorpions albums...personally I would have put Virgin Killers in the top 3 but I agree with you on Love At First Sting...I guess I'll have to get some scorpions albums...I do love that you left the live albums out...although I love certain live albums, they are a hit and miss with me.
Hi Ricky! For me I see live albums like Greatest Hits, they are collections and hard to quantify from a particular period the way a studio album can be done. Also since the live songs are often from the studio albums it doesn’t make sense to me to cover the same material twice. But you’re right they do have some great live albums. In fact my first Scorpions album was Live Bites. But I bought it for the 3 studio bonus tracks…haha 😂
Glad you like The Scorpions so much, but personally I disagree with you on your list. For me the 19th place is Pure Instinct (even thou as mentioned Wild Child is a helluva song), 18th Return to Forever (I expected so much more when I saw which songs they had put on it. Like Rock My Car, which is a fast & furius track originally, first heard on the bootleg from Monsters of Rock in Sweden 1986, and they made it mellow...) and in 17th place Lonesome Crow. 1st place for me is Animal Magnetism (absolutelly outstanding heavy metal album of all time), 2nd Blackout and in 3rd place In Trance... And I love the new album, a great return to a heavier sound! Otherwise, keep up the good work! Hail from Norway \m/
Very different ranking from how I'd rank them but interesting. Eye II EYE would be my least favorite and the 70's Uli Jon Roth era albums would be way high on my list with In Trance being my favorite album.
Eye II Eye was in last place but I gave it a new listen and heard more classic elements still in the music than in Humanity: Hour 1. But it’s just how I hear things and we all hear things differently.
Somewhere in 1988 i was in a music cassette store and was browsing the heavy metal section..i was holding Maiden's 7th Son and that was my very first tape purchased..but i was also holding Scorps Savage..my buddy bought the latter only to sold it to me later. Both album fantastic to this day
Hi Brendon, even though I've socialized with the Scorps in the 80's I later found out I'd rather prefer the not so commercial and "Krauty" 70s era more. So here are my favorites: 1. Blackout 2. Lovedrive 3. Animal Magnetism Cheers.
My favorite Scorpions album is in order are all the Uli Jon Roth era albums, and any album up til " Love at First Sting" haven't bought a Scorpions album since " Unbreakable ". I just got the new album today.
1) lovedrive 2) taken by force 3) blackout 4) animal magnetism 5) virgin killer 6) love at first sting 7) in trance 8) savage amusement 9) fly to the rainbow 10) crazy world
19. Lonesome Crow 18. Return To Forever 17. Eye II Eye 16. Sting In The Tail 15. Rock Believer 14. Humanity Hour I 13. Pure Instinct 12. Face The Heat 11. Fly To The Rainbow 10. Love At First Sting 9. Crazy World 8. Animal Magnetism 7. Unbreakable 6. Savage Amusement 5. In Trance 4. Virgin Killer 3. Taken By Force 2. Lovedrive 1. Blackout
Haha. Scorpions til 1982 (Blackout), one of the best hardrock bands on this planet. From 1984 til today, average boring radio rock, with some great songs here and there!
1. In trance 2. Virgin killer 3. Fly to the rainbow 4. Taken by force (these first Uli albums are allmost tied) 5. Lonesome crow 6. Lovedrive +Tokyo tapes would be my number 1 if it counts. The rest I don't care.
Nice ranking there, Brendon. Imagine how many purists you upset with this ranking. Hahahaha. Anyway, Crazy world is my favourite album. 2. Lovedrive 3. Blackout 4. Face the heat 5. Love at first sting 6. Savage amusement 7. Pure instinct 8. Animal magnetism 9. Taken by force 10. Virgin killer 11. In trance 12. Fly to the rainbow 13. Lonesome crow 14. Unbreakable 15. Sting in the tail 16. Rock believer 17. Humanity Hour I 18. Return to forever 19. Eye II Eye. I noticed you have a copy of Unplugged in Athens on display. I was listening to it yesterday…what a great concert.
My Top Five (5 to 1): Crazy World, Love at First Sting, Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism, and (my runaway winner) Blackout, especially with that title track. Grew up with the latter four (my #2 and #3 too close to call), took a while to get used to Crazy World, but it grew on me later. More favorite deep cuts: on Blackout, "Arizona" and "China White", and the title cut from Animal Magnetism (it just oozes heaviness).
Good video, and interesting ranking, though Taken By Force is a classic, and deserves to be higher. The new album, Rock Believer, also deserves to be further up the list. I know it is controversial, but one of my favourite Scorpions albums is Eye to Eye - yes, To Be No.1 is sh*t, but Mind Like a Tree, Aleyah, Pricilla, and Mysterious are all good, Skywriter and A Moment in a Million Years are great ballads, and apparently it is Klaus Meine's favourite.
Favorite 70s album: In Trance Favorite 80s album: ooh um...kind of a tie between Love At First Sting and Animal Magnetism, but I still love Savage Amusement and Blackout to bits, but more so the latter 90s: Crazy World and only because I haven't given the other ones a chance yet- And I love most of their new work too, save Humanity Hour 1 (but the two title tracks on there are chef's kiss in my opinion)
Very different ranking from the one I would do with the exception of the two last albums which are also my favorite ones. And I.think their new album rock believer is the best thing they ever released since about thirty years ago. Sting in the Tail and unbreakable are pretty good albums too. 🤘🎧
I HAVE NO IDEA WHHHYYYY 2007’s Humanity Hour 1 gets such poor reviews!? There are so many well written and stellar tracks on this album! It also comes in, what I feel, is an era of stepping up for the band after coming out of the 90s. I feel with 2004’s Unbreakable, as well as Humanity, the band returned to top form. I also felt with Humanity, that, in addition to returning to top form, they put a little extra into this album to ramp up the quality of the music. To me, this album lyrically has no fluff… The writing is deep, insightful, and there are a lot of innovations in being able to change with the times. All the while, keeping with their roots/sound.. or as they would call it; their “Scorpions DNA“
The Uli John Roth era is the greatest guitar talent, outside of Lovedrive. The Tokyo Tapes is one of best live albums of all time. Unbreakable is the most underrated album. Rudolf Schenker said himself Return Forever was the worst Scorpions album, of all time. The best two studio albums, the Scorpions ever recorded were "Love drive" and "Intrance"
I’m sorry I don’t actually believe Rudolf said that. I think someone put words in his mouth. I find it hard to believe that during the current cycle of promoting an album he would make that statement. And if it is their “worst” it’s still damn good.
@@BrendonSnyder He did say it. It doesn't matter if you don't believe it. I'm 64 years old. I was listening to band before anyone I can remember. Rudolf Schenker emphasized the importance of getting "Rock Believer" "Right" !!!! Because of the tidal wave of disappointment from Return Forever. Everybody thought we were too old and washed up. Rudolf thought Cazy World was a solid record, however, the production was the worst produced Scorpions record. Recording digitally was in its infancy, It's unfortunate the Schenker Brothers have no relationship. Rock Believer is a great comeback for the band. One could only imagine if they recorded a new Scorpions record with Michael Schenker and Uli John Roth on board.
I’ve had similar requests and so maybe I’ll eventually start doing some of those. But I’ve always been an album oriented person over individual songs. Which is why so far I’ve just done album rankings.
From what I understand. Scorpions pretty much broke up after the first album "Lonesome Crow" when Michael Schenker left for UFO. Then Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine got in contact with Uli Jon Roths band at the time (not sure what it was called) and continued Scorpions after that. Which make a lot of sense because Uli Jon Roth-era is very different from the first album and everything afterwards. I think Uli Jon Roth was a much bigger force in his time with the band than" just the guitarist". When Uli left it truly became the Rudolf/Klaus-band that most know today. I have listened to most their albums but not enough on some of them for a "true" (to myself) ranking. It's easy to just rank the most popular or those hardcore-fans prefer but a big catalog like this has it's up and downs. Not everything is a straight line!
My Ranking 19. Lonesome Crow 18. Eye To Eye 17. Fly To The Rainbow 16. Return To Forever 15. Taken By Force 14. In Trance 13. Virgin Killer 12. Rock Believer 11. Animal Magnetism 10. Savage Amusement 9. Lovedrive 8. Humanity Hour I 7. Sting In The Tail 6. Unbreakable 5. Face The Heat 4. Love At First Sting 3. Pure Instinct 2. Crazy World 1. Blackout
@@BrendonSnyder Yes, it is. Very underrated I think, most Scorpions fans don't like it because it's too soft and has too many ballads, but personally I love it because it is very catchy and melodic
I don’t put a lot of stock in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. They do inductions based on who they think is popular instead of who has earned it or actually a band that has made real contributions to music influencing so many others.
I'll throw my rankings in here and watch the video after posting the comment: 1. Virgin Killer 2. In Trance 3. Lovedrive 4. Blackout 5. Fly to the Rainbow 6. Love at First Sting 7. Rock Believer 8. Crazy World 9. Animal Magnetism 10. Pure Instinct 11. Taken By Force 12 Humanity Hour One 13. Savage Amusement 14. Lonesome Crow 15. Return to Forever 16. Sting in the Tail 17. Unbreakable 18. Face the Heat 19. Eye to Eye Another way of putting this is tier 1: 1-5, tier 2: 6-9, tier 3: 10-14, tier 4: 15-18, tier 5: 19
Top 11: 1. "Love at First Sting" 2. "In Trance" 3. "Blackout" 4. "Taken by Force" 5. "Virgin Killer" 6. "Face the Heat" 7. "Lovedrive" 8. "Unbreakable" 9. "Animal Magnetism" 10. "Fly to the Rainbow" 11. "Savage Amusement" "Savage Amusement" gets quite a bit of hate and while I don't think some of it has aged all that well there are some fantastic tracks on the album. "Love at First Sting" is the chalk pick and a legendary album but the big time Uli Roth fans will have it a bit lower.
Don’t get bent out of shape! Its just an opinion. If I saw your ranking with Virgin Killer higher, perhaps I’d feel the same way about you. It goes both way.
I tried listening6to Rock Believer but it just sounds like filler in order to have another release under their belts to me. On Your Park off of VK has always been a favorite of mine
Virgin Killer is ranked too low on every Scorpions ranking on RUclips. It’s their heaviest album and easily one of their best. I’d rank Rock Believer about 12th
Here just to say that we've all got our favorites, some unconventional. Yeah, this isn't the typical list. Mine wouldn't be either - I've loved the Scorpions for 30+ years and my favorite album is Humanity. Go figure.
That’s cool! Yeah we all hear things differently. The reasons I gave for not liking one as much may be the things that pull someone else in. But in the end this is my personal list and I welcome other people’s lists as well.
Love to see Savage Amusement so high. That is my favorite. No matter if they wanted ot be Def Leppard. And Humanity: Hour 1 is not so bad. At least it is better than Crazy Word or any albums in the 70s.
My go to album is Savage Amusement. I probably listen to it more than any other. As for Humanity Hour 1, I’ll probably keep hearing how much others enjoy it. But for me I just couldn’t get past the modern guitar sounds. They don’t work for me. So while I did listen to the album at the time of release and worked hard to like it, it’s not one that I go back to today. But I’m glad to hear you enjoy it.
This ranking was easy for the top spots and last place spots. But the in between took some real work as I like so many of their albums. Depending on my mood, I really enjoy the Roth era from the 70’s. But it’s the 80’s era that I grew up on and will always be my fave.
@@BrendonSnyder Same Jr. High Big Albums I remember I am 51 were Scorpions ,Van Halen, Motley Crue, Ozzy etc The Good Stuff I do like 70's era now but back then I was not into it I went backwards
I love Pure Instinct and can’t understand why it never charts higher. Eye II Eye was an interesting side step at the time but I don’t go back to it much today. The 90’s was a weird time for Music.
"Fly to the Rainbow" #17 - LMFAO! "Drifting Sun" is possibly their GREATEST SONG, don't care how many records they may've sold, there's not all that much worth listening to by them post-"Blackout". IMO: #1 - "In Trance"; #2 "Fly to the Rainbow". Knew I should've skipped this, the Motley Crue T was a MASSIVE red flag as far as musical taste.

Here's my top 10 studio lps:
1. Blackout
2. Virgin Killer
3. Taken By Force
4. Love at First Sting
5. Love drive
6. Animal Magnetism
7. In Trance
8. Crazy World
9. Fly to the Rainbow
10. Savage Amusement
Wow, Crazy World and Savage Amusement at 4 and 3 respectively. Highly unconventional ranking to say the least. I guess I will have to find may cassette copies and have a re-listen. Excellent ranking. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Christopher, glad you enjoyed it. In the end, it all comes down to personal opinion. Of which we all have different ones.

@@BrendonSnyder ah ok! Thanks for the info!
Glad you’re enjoying the new album so much!
Yeah, Rock Believer is a nice return to form! A little bit of everything that makes Scorpions special, guitars are out front, songs are dynamic and Klaus sounds stellar!
The 70s and 80s albums will always be the best.🤘
I won’t argue with that…but I do think they have made a valiant effort post 80’s making some classic sounding albums. Better than most bands have done that change too much and sometimes don’t even sound like themselves at this stage of their career. Scorpions still sound like the band we love. I’m thankful for that! 🙏
IN TRANCE Y TAKEN BY FORCE. TWO MASTERPIECES!!!
👍
And smack in the middle, my favorite Scorps album, Virgin Killer. It’s also Uli’s favorite Scorps album. The man has great taste.
I can't believe those two are so low! Virgin Killer as well.
@@crusheverything4449 Virgen Killer!!! Masterpiece!!!
@@rafaelgarcia9501 - Absolutely! It was my first experience hearing Uli and is still my favorite studio album he or Scorps ever did!
Good job Brenton. Accurate enough I would say, although in Europe the 70's albums are still popular, in global terms your ranking is closest to reality according impact and sales.
Yeah there are a lot of people that still very much enjoy the 70’s era. I have to be in the right mood. Otherwise my go to period is 1979 to 1993.
Those late 80's and early 90's Scorpions albums are underrated. A lot of people tend to favor the 70's Scorpions, but like you I grew up in the 80's and like those 80's albums a lot. Plus the production of those albums are top notch.
I like the 70’s era but there is nothing that beats the lead guitar work of the 1980’s. Mathis Jabs is a very underrated guitarist IMO.
Thanks Andy, glad you enjoyed it. Also glad to hear you recently rediscover the band. Scorpions are a band that’s great at any time.

2. Fly to The Rainbow (1974)
3. Virgin Killer (1976)
4. In Trance (1975)
5. Animal Magnetism (1980)
6. Love at First Sting (1984)
7. Blackout (1982)
8. Lovedrive (1979)

16. Sting In The Tail (2010)
17. Return to Forever (2015)
18. Pure Instinct (1996)
19. Eye II Eye (1999)
Interesting. A nearly complete opposite ranking to my own. But that’s what’s great about music, we all hear it differently.
Much closer. I'd put Lonesome Crow in the top 9, personally, but otherwise really good.
Good choice. Uli Roth era. The best!!!!!
Face the heat at 14? This album is a masterpiece!
Great Job Brendon, will you do one for their live albums?
No, I only rank studio albums. Live albums are like greatest hits collections and don’t cover one period making it hard to judge one against the other in my opinion.
@@BrendonSnyder fair enough
Cheers.
I’m seeing this tiny group on there Vegas residency in March! I can’t wait
I bet that’s going to be really good!
Yes, Face The Heat is hard and heavy! Totally undervalued - great riffs and energy! Dig it🎸🎸🎸
Hi Brendon!! good job doing this ranking of such a long running band..... i guess if i ever do one won't have the late 90's albums so high, however we do agree with the bottom of your list. Still need to get all the Uli Jon era to my collection, been looking after the 50th anniversary edition they put out, but kind of $$$. cheers and be well
Lonesome Crow is underrated..I think it is very good but yes totally different from the rest of their output.
Great ranking. As a longtime Scorpions fan, yours is very similar to mine. Savage Amusement is my favorite followed by your top picks.
Savage Amusement is my go to album by the band. I love it from start to finish.
It’s all when you came into the band.
Agree
Ummm, I became a fan with Love at First Sting. But no doubt, the UJR era is the best with Taken by Force as #1. Sails of Charon is a masterpeice. @@BrendonSnyder
interesting list...thanks for sharing...my favourite is Face the Heat...saw them live once, they were fantastic...
Face The Heat is so good and so underrated at the same time.
Face The Heat is way under appreciated! It rocks hard and contains some very heavy riffs! Good production, as well!
And both “Tokyo Tapes” and “World Wide Live” are absolute classic live releases. Both are flawless.
That they are but I was only counting down studio albums.
Great video!
I agree. However Intrance is just as great.
@@stephensdygert7600 It’s great
Great Ranking. I learn something new everyday.
Excellent! I love hearing that you learned something!
@@BrendonSnyder I have the newer 2021 Ray Wilson on the way. I downloaded “Mother Earth” sounds pretty good.
Rock Believer ranks in my top 5 Brendon, but i do agree with you on your number 1 pick.
Glad you’re enjoying the new album so much.
It was already done and done much better by Pete Pardo at Sea of Tranquility, who actually heard some of this stuff when it came out.
Great video
UFO did a live show i think in 86 or 87, and they did Doctor Doctor live, of course, but it was like a 12 minute song. i was wondering who played guitar on that song. guy had wild hair. it was fantastic. Was Schneker not on lead guitar?
Schenker left in 1978. It was probably Atomik Tommy M. He was with the band from 1984-1987. Great guitar player.
Michael, not Rudolph
Great job good sir
Thank you! 👍
Got to see Scorpions once in the early nineties They were excellent.
No coughing up extra money to see them backstage and on top of it they put on a killer performance.
hallo! awesome review. my favorit albums is- Savage Amusement never fail impress me, and Crazy world , Humanity hour 1...🤟💥
Awesome! 👍
For me, #1 is the ‘transitional’ album - Lovedrive. With Michael Schenker actually on 5/8 tracks it’s a diverse classic :)
Yeah that’s cool man, we all have our own favorites! 🤘
Very different ranking from how I'd rank them but interesting. Eye II EYE would be my least favorite and the 70's Uli Jon Roth era albums would be way high on my list with In Trance being my favorite album.
Agreed!
Eye II Eye was in last place but I gave it a new listen and heard more classic elements still in the music than in Humanity: Hour 1. But it’s just how I hear things and we all hear things differently.
@@BrendonSnyder understandable and respect your opinion.

Nice Ranking. Cool to see a lot of love for FACE THE HEAT, great album. I agree with your number 1.
In a perfect world, Face The Heat would have been as successful as Crazy World. It was a great album that just came out too late.
Bruce Dickinson made a rather good cover of "The Zoo" - as for me it is a very solid track from Scorps.
It’s a complete show stopper! Especially when the group it with the instrumental Coast To Coast.
The two in the top places are classic albums. The first concert I saw was the Scorpions on the Love at first sting tour.

They’ve made some great live albums indeed.

@@BrendonSnyder I know I will
Good video, and interesting ranking, though Taken By Force is a classic, and deserves to be higher.
See we all have our favorites and think certain ones are classics over others. What “deserves” to be where on a list is simply just our opinions.
Favorite 70s album: In Trance
Favorite 80s album: ooh um...kind of a tie between Love At First Sting and Animal Magnetism, but I still love Savage Amusement and Blackout to bits, but more so the latter
90s: Crazy World and only because I haven't given the other ones a chance yet-
And I love most of their new work too, save Humanity Hour 1 (but the two title tracks on there are chef's kiss in my opinion)
Very different ranking from the one I would do with the exception of the two last albums which are also my favorite ones. And I.think their new album rock believer is the best thing they ever released since about thirty years ago. Sting in the Tail and unbreakable are pretty good albums too. 🤘🎧
How come your copy if Virgin Killer doesn't have the correct cover?
Haha…because it’s a reissue. The original cover is banned. I’ve never even seen it issued on CD (not officially anyway).
@@BrendonSnyder My cd has the girl cover. It's no worse than Blind Faith or Led Zep.

Should you make the "same" video, but with the songs. Something as Top 20 Scorpions songs.

@@BrendonSnyder- Except the part where Virgin Killer smokes Rock Believer in every possible way.
Virgin Killer is ranked too low on every Scorpions ranking on RUclips. It’s their heaviest album and easily one of their best. I’d rank Rock Believer about 12th
Virgin Killer is just really generic 70s hard rock for me. Also, the original German album cover is the worst album cover in history.
Brendon They don't get any easier do they I am really partial as an Full Album and not just songs Love At First Sting #1
Finally, a list that doesn't completely shit all over Pure Instinct and Eye II Eye.
I love Pure Instinct and can’t understand why it never charts higher. Eye II Eye was an interesting side step at the time but I don’t go back to it much today. The 90’s was a weird time for Music.
Sting in the tail came out in 2010...
Watch it again, that’s what I said…
Fly To The Rainbow deserves #1
These guys lead everyone in creepy album covers
"Fly to the Rainbow" #17 - LMFAO!
"Drifting Sun" is possibly their GREATEST SONG, don't care how many records they may've sold, there's not all that much worth listening to by them post-"Blackout".
IMO: #1 - "In Trance"; #2 "Fly to the Rainbow".
Knew I should've skipped this, the Motley Crue T was a MASSIVE red flag as far as musical taste.
Thanks for wasting your time! 👍
Not a fan of 70s Scorpions, right?
Great ranking, my rank:
1 - Love At First Sting (masterpiece, great audio mixing)
2 - Blackout (amazing!! don't have any bad songs)
3 - Lovedrive (don't have any bad songs either)
4 - Savage Amusement (great ballads)
5 - Crazy World (a lot of great songs)
6 - In Trance (the first GREAT album)
7 - Unbreakable (the best from the 2000s)
8 - Animal Magnetism (very interesting album)
9 - Humanity: Hour I (my second favorite from the 2000s)
10 - Virgin Killer (underrated album)
11 - Face the Heat (a solid album)
12 - Pure Instinct (some great songs here)
13 - Taken by force (some great songs here too)
14 - Fly to the Rainbow (way above for a second album)
15 - Eye II Eye (better than everyone says)
16 - Return to Forever (album made in automatic mode, but still with good songs)
17 - Sting in the Tail (two GREAT songs here)
18 - Lonesome Crow (different from what would become the next albums, but still interesting)
19 - Rock Believer (I couldn't like it. For me it's the band's most automatic mode album. No creativity, especially in the melodies)
Nice ranking! 🤘
Ulrich Roth era. The Best!!!
