- Hi everyone, Im preparing a Red stag series for you all, it will contain 3 parts, the first episode as you will see here is about resizing the shoulder mount form, which is quite interesting. in order to resize a form properly and proportionately you need to do it 3 dimensional. width, length and depth. its much easier to see than explain. Hope you enjoy the video

Hi Tanner. its called "Merlin tool" you can google it, its for wood carvers,, it comes with different heads.. pricy little tool but very handy.

Hi Ben
Great video could you just explain how you calculated the width of the cuts you made please.
Hi William. Measurements. You can test fit the skin and see how much beds to be changed but you can easily measure the circumference and compare the difference.
thinking again about your question... if I measure the cape or test fit it and determine that my skin is for example 4 inches short and the form has that amount extra mass in circumference, I remove two cuts 1 inch width.. because when you remove a slice of 1" through, you are bascically removing two 1" from the whole amount.. and if you remove the same in perpendicular , then you are removing another two 1" from the circumference.. so it will total 4 inches.. and you are good to go.
Thanks for clarifying on that Ben! I was just going to ask if that is how you did it.
What are the orange pins you are using on the hide? And where can you find them at?
They are just awls. You can buy them from any leather craft supplier.
😀👌👏👏
