What was the neck measurement of the stag? I’m trying to find a tanned red stag skin for mounting and not sure what size I need.
Sorry but I can’t remember. Look in the catalogues if i were you.
At the 25:41 mark, are those brads or staples that are being shot around the antler burrs to keep the skin in place while drying? Are they left in place or removed?
Hi Tod.. yes and they are the shortest brads I can find, I believe they are aboit half inch in length. If they end up exposed after drying I will cut the excess off of if end up buried in deep hair and lost I don’t bother.

I wrap plastic wrap and then remove it ... After sanding the form the foam surface creates a lot of traction and sometimes makes it difficuly to test fit the cape. applying hide paste makes the skin slide easier on the neck but since I dont want to make a mess around the face by glue then Instead I make the skin slide easier with plastic wrap... its just a thing Ive used to use, not a necessary thing.
What did you use to cover over the skull cap after attaching to the form?
