      Any actual Ford guy knows the boss 302 is already a classic in its own sense considering it is probably one of the best platforms with the best bang for you Buck, forged internals with higher compression makes it similar to the gen 3 coyotes without they drivetrain system

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 года назад +4

      @@Michaelscott62518 it's more like the gen 2. Gen 2 was directly derived from the boss engine as far as the bottom end and heads. Intake manifold is different obviously. Gen 3 has bigger bore and more compression and dual fuel etc. Boss 302 is alot more like Gen 2 which arguably can handle boost as well or even better than Gen 3 can.

      @@FamilyCTSV people make too big a deal about the tailights. Tint them or at least the part where the reverse lights are and it helps them alot. They really aren't that bad and outside of that I honestly think the 2012 looks better than the 2013. The 13 looks more like a normal 5.0 up front and outback whereas the 2012 looked more special and more mean compared to a normal 5.0 stock vs stock of the same year.

      I love it. I run 17s all around on my gt500...7 up front 10.5 in the rear. I run a 305/45/17 now but I think ima switch tk a 315/50 for even thicker meats out back. That is nearly a 29.5 inch tall tire but I'm running 4.10s and could stand for some of the gearing to be eaten up by tire height. I may switch to 15s on the rear at some point if traction becomes an issue at higher power levels. Think it looks much better than the 20 inch rovos I took off that came on the car. They were good looking wheels I'm just not a fan of huge wheels and small sidewalls. I like the down business look of a drag pack and it removes alot of weight too and helps traction its a win win win

      @@AzureCrux that's the thing. For me it was between a boss and 11/12 gt500, and there's good arguments for either. Boss has a slightly higher hp ceiling (i think dakota from lund racing made 1100 on stock internals, but 1000 is always the number you hear) but the transmission is killing me now. To the point that I'll probably get the t56 magnum before boost because i hate the mt82 so much.
      But another thing to note on the gt500. If you don't care as much about weight, you can get leather recaros, a touchscreen, and a GLASS ROOF stock on the 500. There was a grey car with all 3 options for the same price as my boss when i bought it, and i don't know for sure if id be happier with that. Although the boss exclusive paint color was a nice touch.

      @AzureCrux 3 года назад

      @@sheparddoran2366 Yeah I think in terms of ceiling you're right. I don't think the 500s last much higher than 750 wheel. Either way, I think the transmission and my powert goals (I only want arount 700 wheel) made the 12 GT500 a much better option for me. You should consider sourcing a used 6060, it's similar in strength to an XL and you can have one for half the price. I happen to have one with a bad 2nd gear synchro sitting in the garage that I got for a thousand. Debating whether to build it or sell it

      @@sheparddoran2366 I was in the same boat as you. Was cross shopping both. Ended up going with the boss, after seeing gt500 after gt500 at shows it kinda of lost its luster to me. Motor wise it seems like the boss is more stout from the factory. Cammed gt500 dies sound really good tho. Trans wise the tremec is just better then the mt82. Balance wise the boss wins hands down, gt500 just felt so sloppy on the road to me. And exclusively, it has to be the boss limited 2 yr run besides 69/70 and the car just has a road presence about ut the shelby didn't have when I drove it.
