- With 2023 coming to an end, I thought I'd get out for one last session of the year. The conditions were a little challenging due to some very strong winds, however, with a good swell and bit of fizz, these kind of conditions can be great for bass fishing.

Hi Cal,well done😀…the weather in Alderney has been pretty much pants since the Wednesday of the Alderney Angling Festival( 17th October!!!!)….more than fed up with continuous rain and gales😡😡😡😡…never known the weather been this bad in 17 years….hopefully a slight lull this Friday and I can’t wait to get out….serious cabin fever🤣🤣🤣….Happy New Year and here’s to more great content in 2024😀😀😀👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣xxxxxxx

Well done Cal. Thanks for all the great videos. I was in Guernsey from mid November until a much delayed exit, thanks to the cancelled sailings. I only managed to get a few days angling in, I'm clearly not as hardy as you. Happy New year, I look forward to seeing many more excellent videos.

Good effort on that one mate. I went out South Cornwall in similar conditions betweenChristmasand New Year. Blanked but it was great to be out.

Proper blowing a hooly!!! I know this may be a long shot but I’m moving out to guernsey in June my wife has just got a midwifery job, I’m an experienced freshwater angler but only ever fished for Bass once (back in October when we had a little holiday on herm) I would love the opportunity to fish with you Cal and to pick your brains about fishing on the island is this something you’d consider?

Tbh I haven’t bothered looking lately. At a guess I’d say around 11-12 degrees for this time of year
Haven’t finished it yet, but when was this filmed? I was over in guernsey at Christmas and tried at Pembroke. Nothing. Even tried a bit of squidding one night. Wind was insane!
If you think Guernsey was bad,Alderney has had 15:58 bloody shocking weather wise since the 17th October….utterly bloody miserable😡 Fingers crossed for the projected lull this Friday🤞🤞🤞🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

It was last week mate. The weather has been terrible lately hence the reason why I’ve not been uploading much. The motivation fades when it’s dark, wet and windy.
Squid fishing this year has been terrible mate. I didn’t go that many times but each time I went it was very slow.
