I grow hydroponic veggies. My guess is you'll need some shade over your aquaponic system when it gets hot, so the fish can breath and the roots don't rot. That system is gorgeous. You're a bunch of McGuyvers!
a spray fountain could also help
the hotter the water the less oxygen can dissolve in it even if you have 12 air stones
I agree with they need a shade! A cover with basic framework and some kind cloth cover easy to put over on those scorching hot Desert sun! But beautiful system build!

I can't wait to see the aquaponics system stocked! One thing that may help with the air pump, for both longevity and efficiency, is to plumb the airlines from the pump to the tanks with 1/2" rigid PVC pipe, adding a threaded tee and hose barb at any location where you want an air stone. Then use the smaller diameter flexible hoses from the barbs to the air stones. This should allow the pump to provide a higher volume of air throughout the system at a lower pressure. Lower pressure means less energy used by the pump.
When the sun gets too strong G and E could put a shade sail or something similar over their aquaponics system
I was thinking the same thing, the summer gets hot there and the winter cold. Need a green house type covering like the other system.

Now I want to know where every one of those nature shots was taken, just for context. Like, when you show a map of the property for one second, with an X, saying *this butterfly was filmed in this corner of the garden* kinda thing.

Garin and Ellie have done an awesome job on the aquaponics. Appreciate the technical water quality information. So much to consider. It's not just throw some fish and plants together and see how it goes. There does seem to be enough room for shade of some sort which is good as Bryson eventually had to shade over his aquaponics.

The pavers will definitely make it easier to walk but they might add inadvertently excessive heat to the containers due to heat dissipation (during the nite). On the other hand if it gets cooler faster at nite that might actually work in your favor (heat dissipation that is). Hello everyone. Comment on the aquaponic build. Have you thought about shade cloth. That stone will get hot in the full sun and damage your plants. Also watch the water temperature unless you like fish soup. Your friend from way down south in Dixie.

I love watching your families videos. Keep up the great work! My family has owned a fish store for 38 years, the best way to get through a bacterial cycle is to get some feeder goldfish in the water and pooping. If you do it just with the fish food the tank will have to adjust to the fish poop when you add them and it will make the process longer. Best to just get them in there and get it going. You'll be feeding them fish food too. 50 feeder goldfish should be around 10 bucks. It's a 6-8 week process. Don't clean it or you'll be starting the process over. Love they way the system looks and can't wait to see it in full bloom! Great Job!

Shae's car looks AMAZING! The hexagon pattern seemed overpowering in my head, but the way it's just hinted in one area, and kinda fades into the rest of the car- perfectly tasteful, I can't believe I doubted you!
Also, omg Azalea. I love when babies are so asleep they're all floppy. Just totally passed out in the sling. XD I really miss when mine were this small!!!

When you look at a sheet of graph paper you see rows and Columns of squares. All the squares are identical just a like and fit together without any gaps or overlaps. The equilateral triangle and the hexagon are among the shapes that will also do this. When the repeating geometric shapes grid up and fit together perfectly this is called tessellation. Some of the platonic solids will tessellate. Great fun with tiles, design, wallpaper patterning or artistic expressions.Tessellate to form into or adorn with mosaic. I love words, and my little Homestead.

You should get yourself a headlight lens restoration kit. To clear up that fogginess in the lens. It'll also make your headlights a little brighter, while in use. So it'll not only look better, but also be safer to drive at night.
Had the same problem with my Jeep Liberty. You'll have to polish them once a year I believe, to keep it from fogging back up.
Or you could buy new headlight lens...lol
Great idea. Protip, buy the polishing compounds in bulk and a foam polishing drill attachment separately, and you'll have the supplies to do 100 headlights for the price of a retail kit for one pair. It's amazing how much more effective the lights are afterward. If water has gotten inside and damaged the surface mirror reflector then replace the unit. 100% of the light on low beam must bounce off the reflector.
