Pequod's is one of my favourite places in Chicago! The cheese that's layered on the side of the pan gets caramelized and is just so crunchy and amazing.
@@CharlieMoney777 Detroit style is good. I feel Pequods is a marriage somewhat of Chicago deep dish and Detroit style. Its not traditional deep dish and not Detroit style; but combines a lot of the qualities of both pies.
Yup they are the Real Deal not the Chain Spiel. Been there just two times but wish it was more. Superfresh, authentic, made with love. Look at the juice, the colors and textures. Perfectly cooked. They're in a class of their own.

As for mine, give me Lou Malnati's if I'm going to have a deep dish. It still resembles pizza and has a great flavor. Most often, I like thin crust -- as do most Chicagoans. Usually, less is more when it comes to balancing ingredients. Ironically, the most popular topping in Chicagoland is Italian sausage, which is the one topping that Pequad's seems to hold back on, while there's enough pepperoni on those pies to drown out most of the other flavors. Go figure. 🤷♂️
The pizza with the spinach on the bottom , then cheese, sauce, mushrooms🍄onions,🧅peppers, looked like some kind of peppers🫑 on it. That’s the one I want please!
Looks awesome! I visited Chicago once and had deep dish, not sure the restaurant but I loved it. I'm not nitpicking but I'd prefer a little more cheese than what these have...
@michaelolin2219 There's a lot of cheese on there. Remember, slices are more dense than shreds. Nonetheless, if you wanted extra cheese, all you have to do is ask for it; I'm sure they'll put it on there for an extra charge. I wouldn't ask for it on top, though -- especially if you have mushrooms or vegetables in it. Those things release a lot of water as they cook. Covering them with cheese inhibits evaporation from both the veggies and the heavy layer of sauce, resulting in a soupy pizza. That's why the cheese goes on the bottom of deep dish pies

But it's just a huge gut bomb of bread. If you want deep dish(this is pan pizza); head to pizanos . Legit awesome. Better than malnatis, in fact it's owned by the other brother lol
