Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

Being open development has allowed them to intake large amounts of funds which has allowed for a massive foundation to be built the increase of manpower, and enough funds to be able to be patient enough to get only quality employees. Open development advantages in this case far far outway closed.

To what degree both visually and mechanically will augments alter the spell? With an example.
That's the only question I need answered.
The warlock page on the wiki is the most extreme example we know so far.
Turning a fireball into a summoned elemental that chases enemies around and slows them down.

WoW that's really extreme.
In a case of a summoner, I expected that you get a different pet with different type of dmg, maybe changing from melee to ranged or even changing the role focus ( from dps to CC pet) depending on your augments. Last thing I expected is pet spawning from dmging spell.
Dunno if I love or hate this new revelation. Thanks for the info.
@@CasabianN-xr5sc secondary summoners likely won't get pets the way primary summoners do. Warlock is Mage primary.
For primary summoners, the augments from their secondary will likely work as you describe, but we only have examples for things like frost and fire summons, as well as the class names of 'beastmaster' for summoner/ranger and 'necromancer' for summoner/cleric.
@@justinwhite2725 Actually, I hope thats its the case. Secondary summoners should have temporary pets at best. I am talking few seconds only.

Good questions! I guess mine would be how to not let feedback from the 2020s era MMO audience affect development of the game. I know they want feedback, but not all feedback is good, especially for a game that is trying to innovate on the genre and not deliver on the same PvE centric experience that the current dying MMO audience feels entitled to expect

I have a question that I really would like Stevens to answer:
Have they considered AI-generated text-to-speech?
As a person with dyslexia, I dread all the text that this game will have. I fear it can/will be a hindrance for me to get a good understanding of the quests and the lore. I feel it would be a great thing if we could have the option to have our character as a narrator for "normal text" and NPCs have AI generated voices. They could have voice presets for the different races and the AI tweak it a bit so every NPC sounded unique. :D
Love this style of video, one bit of a constructive critique is having some gameplay in the background would be a nice touch

The last few weeks been thinking about which question I would want to ask. And truthfully, I don't have any question I would ask. It is so much just things I want to explore and see for myself. I would like to get some clarity on the secondary archetypes. Do you need to level them up? Or do you get access to the full roster instantly at max level?
Can you just immediately start swapping between a max level Paladin or a Juggernaut without having to level up the subclasses at all? Because i really don't like that idea.

Not an important question but... Would you possibly get swept downstream or make it somewhat impossible/ or -90% movement speed swimming up those hard currents in the caravan show case (curious if this could be an issue/Pro with CC) and if so does somewhat slow down mid-winter / speed up spring summer? just curious about traversing
Another question I have is are there going to be a set focus type of button? if so are you then going to allow target spell kick focus macro? - I wouldn't be a fan of this.
It's crazy, I'm somewhat following the development of this game with a zero possibility of ever playing it... unless they had a pve or opt in pvp server.
