I love seeing all these beautiful mountain places that I may never be able to visit...and your choice of music is always just right. Blessings to you and yours, Dan.
I'm a fan of MRL, their mighty SD70ACes are gorgeous. Big Sky Country is indeed a very beautiful state and your amazing video perfectly shows this. The trip is very scenic, I'm sure employees really like working on this route. Awesome video again Dan, thanks a lot for the entertainment. :)
Still catching up on older videos. This area is so scenic and the gas local is a unique operation. Well done and thanks for your self portrait at Evaro.
MRL. I remember when this Road first started out, hand me down SD40-2’s and SD9’s. Look at them now. A great railroad. Thanks for another great video Dan. AAA+++
Very nice Dan, your videos keep getting better. Many moons ago, I spent three months in the Portland area while training at Tek; I'd go exploring on the weekends. One beautiful early morning I was on the southern side of 'The Gorge' looking for a good spot to catch trains to photograph. I found a round search light cantilever' that was not visible from the road; I climbed up on it positioned myself directly over the track and waited. Soon enough, a freight appeared from the east and it was 'haulin the mail'. The lighting was perfect with the sun still low in the east due to the early hour; it was a straight line between the sun, the tracks and me; with sunlight reflecting off the top of the engines as they approached. The photos I took from my perch were keepers but they didn't do justice to the RUSH I felt when those engines passed just a few feet beneath me.
Thanks Chris! It does suck. I've got a couple more videos from this trip to edit and upload and then I'm planning a much longer trip at the end of May to get a whole bunch of videos.
Thank you for documenting this train, Dan! It is a good thing that you captured this Montana Rail Link train while you could before BNSF takes over back the line. The train itself was great to watch plus the beautiful scenery added to the enjoyment of watching this video. Is this your only video on the Montana Rail Link or can we look forward to more videos?
Thanks Thomas! There should be many more MRL videos. I've got two more from this trip to edit and upload and then at the end of May I'm planning a much longer trip out there for a whole week and I'm sure I will get a whole bunch of material that I'll be working on for months to upload.
It's basically a shuttle train between points on a pipeline. They bring loaded cars from the East end of the Pipeline at Missoula to Thompson Falls where the Pipeline continues carrying gasoline West into Washington.

Thanks a lot! I bet that was a rush of excitement. It's those memories we carry that are the best.
Another incredibly well documented run of the MRL in 2022!
Well done Dan!
Thanks a lot!

Thanks DJ!
Great video. Thank you for posting!
Pretty amazing work here.
Nice work, Dan!
What a magnificent day you must of had Dan? It really sucks that MT Rail Link was sold to BNSF! Thank you for sharing this experience, Chris

What camera do you use other than a drone?
The ground footage is shot with the DJI Osmo Action.
What's the placard on the tanks
Looks like 1203
Another gas run to sub for the pipeline.
Gas as in petrol? Is the gas for consumers in Thompson Falls or is it for something else?
Amazing viedo nonetheless

@@TheRailfanDan interesting so there's some sort of break in the pipe line where it can't be continuous and in turn requires the use of this train?
