I've been playing many years and always in search of the "holy grail" amp. I used to use Marshall and Laney in the earley days (70s) and have tried every amp since, Egnater, Bogner, Peavey. The Nomad is the most underated amp ever. Look at what you can pick them up for and then look at Petrucci using one as a precurser to the Mark V!
I really thought at first I was hearing the rectifier because at first I skipped ahead. I thought it sounded low in gain. I went back and thought this is the dual rectifier. I realized that the first was the nomad!
Sounded to me like too much presence on nomad? Of course just a cell phone video. I do remember liking the dual rec better but nomad was still a great and capable amp!
Michele Peretto of course I am playing through some old broken in 10" speakers. They were very focused and glorius and full. Liked them better than a 2x12 I have now but a pain to move them.

Everyone hates on the nomad but I kind of like it :/ I liked the tones this guy was getting out of it.

I personally think the Nomad sounded clear and punchy. The second amp sounded muffled, as if it was amped by a mic with a heavy sock over it

well that is a loud bedroom volume. I traded this with a friend and he uses it in a country band. so clean is useable too.
Tommorrow I'll buy the nomad. Nice rewiew thank you!
Michele Peretto make sure all of the switching works they can be quite finicky when problems arise. Other than that put some 6L6s in there and enjoy!
vexed seventythree ok, thank you very much!
vexed seventythree In my ESP I have the same pick ups, so I hope to get the same tone.

vexed seventythree I can imagine

im looking into getting one of these (a dual recto) would you say they sound good at low/bedroom volumes? sounds damn good in your video
of course the right speakers really make a different with this amp according to my friend.
very similar sounds. I have a nomad 55 head + marshall 800 cab and the sound is completely different. is very similar to Mark
Awesome!!!!
thanks
Woooow! Settings on Nomad? I love your sound!, Thanks :)

Been awhile dont remember and don't have amp anymore.
vexed seventythree thanks.. do you remember if you used celestion speaker? Thanks!
They were stock 10" peavey ceramic eminence speakers from late 70s early 80s. They were great sounding speakers!! Multiple 10" speakers are underated!
The ten inch speakers I am talking about had square magnets.
Whoa...Nomad sounds like a f**kin' buzzsaw!
What speakers?
Can't remember if its 2 or 4 10" speakers. 70/80s eminence squar backs that came in peaveys.
