    As watching the video, my tinnitus started to quite down as you explained the well being of your self and having less resistance with it made it less intense and now it's extremely easy just to ignore it. YOUR THE BEST.

    Hi Julian, I'm just writing this to say thank you for these videos. Your explanation of tinnitus has really opened my eyes, as it fits perfectly with my experience with it. I really needed to hear your explanation of being "up and in the head" all the time with your focus, and how even someone doing gardening can still be running the stress programmes in the brain, (if that's the right word for it.) These describe me perfectly, as there is very seldom a moment where I'm not running a million miles a second in my mind, even at rest.
    I started making a point of directing my focus away from my head and down into the body the past few days, and it's really working at slowly shutting the tinnitus off. There are about 5 sounds that my tinnitus varies between, and there tends to be about 3 running at any one time. Some of the sounds switched off for the first time in months today, and there was a definite, almost physical difference in where my mind was in my body compared to a few days ago. I know for a fact that I was less up in my head and thinky all the time back when I didn't have tinnitus, so hopefully it will continue to drop as I get better at bringing my focus back down.
    I could ramble on about it, as this is a very welcome relief, but I'll just keep it short and say thanks again, and please keep posting, people suffering from this fucking nightmare need more resources like this.

    man speaks the truth. listen word for word. I'll add, it takes time for the overall healing. The practice he is talking about should be as much as you can, a lifestyle. Do Yoga too imho,, gets stress out of the body. Also, don't stress about the sound, i did and it just makes it worse. be blessed. peace and love all.

    • @JulianCowanHill
      @JulianCowanHill  7 лет назад +12

      Yes, and looking at why it is still important to check up on it. If it has almost gone, why does it still matter? Are you just being a perfectionist? Are you still being demanding? Or maybe you need something to worry about (very common). Tinnitus can become a great avoidance strategy for not dealing with other things! Using tinnitus to remind you to check out what tells you you are ok in the body. You notice tinnitus, then you notice what feels ok inside or in your current situation. You can find more information in my book, Tinnitus, From Tyrant to Friend on this. Look it up on Amazon.

    Great work Julian. Finding it very hard to not grade its progress or lack of it continually. This alone holds my state in flight or flight. It gets better, lets say over night and I wake up and it's manageable. Within 2 hours it had gotten worse than the day before, even when I had gotten to a point where It was in the background and liveable... I am keeping a diary of food, drink and habits to see what irritates it and what does not. 8 weeks I have had it after inner ear trauma left me deaf in one ear, 5 weeks ago the right ear joined the party, yet no diminished hearing in that ear?? Thoughts

    Hi Julian you give good calming advice, I haven't actually been diagnosed with tinnitus as the gp wont see me due to the covid. I do suffer from bad sinus problems and my gp has prescribed me several prescriptions for sinusitis this was done over the phone, I feel extremely anxious its making me stress so much I feel like the gp isn't at all interested in seeing me. My question is can sinus and congestion cause tinnitus, ive had this 4 weeks now, I do have episodes where it disappears for several hours then it comes back with vengeance, I am worried stressed and cant sleep.

    • @jesse0219
      @jesse0219 4 года назад +4

      Yes, sinuses and congestion can cause tinnitus. Once your sinuses are back to normal, the T should slowly fade. Try not to stress too much, that will only make it linger longer.
