Six weeks after a nasty tinnitus spike, this is where I am, a calm acceptance of the tinnitus.Great to get this confirmation from you Julian. Thank you.
As watching the video, my tinnitus started to quite down as you explained the well being of your self and having less resistance with it made it less intense and now it's extremely easy just to ignore it. YOUR THE BEST.
Hi Julian, I'm just writing this to say thank you for these videos. Your explanation of tinnitus has really opened my eyes, as it fits perfectly with my experience with it. I really needed to hear your explanation of being "up and in the head" all the time with your focus, and how even someone doing gardening can still be running the stress programmes in the brain, (if that's the right word for it.) These describe me perfectly, as there is very seldom a moment where I'm not running a million miles a second in my mind, even at rest. I started making a point of directing my focus away from my head and down into the body the past few days, and it's really working at slowly shutting the tinnitus off. There are about 5 sounds that my tinnitus varies between, and there tends to be about 3 running at any one time. Some of the sounds switched off for the first time in months today, and there was a definite, almost physical difference in where my mind was in my body compared to a few days ago. I know for a fact that I was less up in my head and thinky all the time back when I didn't have tinnitus, so hopefully it will continue to drop as I get better at bringing my focus back down. I could ramble on about it, as this is a very welcome relief, but I'll just keep it short and say thanks again, and please keep posting, people suffering from this fucking nightmare need more resources like this.
you're awesome Julian. Sunday morning I was lost and Monday morning was even worse i was thinking some pretty dark thoughts and then I seen your post and helped me calm down this one as well. I've been following the things you recommend using my hands massaging my feet etc. and going for body massage last week helped joined YMCA this week yoga this coming Monday and listening to you helps..finding you on here has been a God send. if I could I would give you a hug a tell you thanks and much Love.
Glad to hear it is helping. As you know, but for others seeing this, you can find a lot more help and support on my app here www.quietenapp.com Come along to my Q&A sessions for help, support and inspiration from others on their road to recovery. Best wishes, Julian
man speaks the truth. listen word for word. I'll add, it takes time for the overall healing. The practice he is talking about should be as much as you can, a lifestyle. Do Yoga too imho,, gets stress out of the body. Also, don't stress about the sound, i did and it just makes it worse. be blessed. peace and love all.
Thank you, Julian. I'm coming back to your videos over and over again. Your book and your RUclips channel (going to try the app soon!) are such an immense help. Just had my second craniosacral session today.
Excellent post Julian, I've found that with over 30 years of tinnitus when I'm having a "good" day the tinnitus feels much further away from me and there is more space around my head.
Dude! You really hit it on the nail! The whole explanation of having it back off and not seeming so much IN the head, but more out there. I just want to get to the point on my “bad days” where I only hear it it small fragments of time to not at all.
Have you had your beard coloured and trimmed Julian? It seems darker :) Hoping you're doing well anyway. Thank you for your work. It really helped me move on from tinnitus and enjoy life again.
Hi Julian I'm a mum to 5 kid n I got tinnitus 5 wks ago out of nowhere , I just woke up with it , I'm an anxious person anyway so I don't know if this happened coz of my anxiety but this tinnitus is causing my anxiety to rocket and I' went to docs he gave me stetraline to help with my anxiety but the ringing is still there and the worse thing is it gets louder with noise and even my own voice aggravates it and it gets louder as I talk :( I've found hope in your videos and hope I can get rid of this although I can't afford any therapies as I'm single mum !
Hayley Betts hey love. it will get better. My tinnitus would get aggravated when I would talk and mine is almost gone. You have to work really hard to 1st get yourself on a routine and get some good sleep. This will help reduce your stress. I know it is hard but you can get there because I did. :)
Hi! I hope you are doing better. Just to confirm you, mine also gets worse when I speak, that's the hyperacusis part, I guess. However, when tinnitus gets better the hyperacusis disappears and doesn't trigger it anymore
I am a young Person and I have tinnitus. I've asked my mom dad if they can do anything but they say no. I do have a over active nervous system. Is there a way where I can like "deactivate" my nervous system? I was told that tinitnus is caused by stress. I do stress a lot doing school. My mom doesn't know what to do. I can't sleep at night I have trouble paying attention at school I'm always bothered by my tinnitus!! Please help!!! My mom doesn't want me skyping some random person. She's very overprotective. Please help. Is there a way where we can DM each other?
Hello sir I'm in the UK and have found your videos very helpful. Please may I ask, I have been diagnosed with a double ear infection and have a very high pitched ringing in both ears. Is there any chance this may go away when the infection is gone? I have been on antibiotics for the last three days but it has not helped at all. Thanks Matthew.
Very good explenation of the phase I'm in now (last phase)... You are doing great work Julian!! Keep the video's coming. Please can you give Some more info on how manage the last stages in getting the T to the background? Is that with yoga tai chi?
Yes, and looking at why it is still important to check up on it. If it has almost gone, why does it still matter? Are you just being a perfectionist? Are you still being demanding? Or maybe you need something to worry about (very common). Tinnitus can become a great avoidance strategy for not dealing with other things! Using tinnitus to remind you to check out what tells you you are ok in the body. You notice tinnitus, then you notice what feels ok inside or in your current situation. You can find more information in my book, Tinnitus, From Tyrant to Friend on this. Look it up on Amazon.
Julian, thanx for the reply......yes I am a perfectionist indeed, want to be in control of everything! People think I am a very layed back person, but the opposite is the truth.........how wrong can they be..... Bought you're book!! Thank you.
Shankar Reddy yep agreed don’t try antidepressant never trust those pills they make people worse and definitely they have withdrawal symptoms to them short term or long term I wouldn’t risk it do Julian approach then see
Great work Julian. Finding it very hard to not grade its progress or lack of it continually. This alone holds my state in flight or flight. It gets better, lets say over night and I wake up and it's manageable. Within 2 hours it had gotten worse than the day before, even when I had gotten to a point where It was in the background and liveable... I am keeping a diary of food, drink and habits to see what irritates it and what does not. 8 weeks I have had it after inner ear trauma left me deaf in one ear, 5 weeks ago the right ear joined the party, yet no diminished hearing in that ear?? Thoughts
Hi sir I have doubt..... every one is saying that tinnitus cause hearing loss is it true.....what is the difference between hearing loss and deafness sir...realy am worried about this
Hi Julian you give good calming advice, I haven't actually been diagnosed with tinnitus as the gp wont see me due to the covid. I do suffer from bad sinus problems and my gp has prescribed me several prescriptions for sinusitis this was done over the phone, I feel extremely anxious its making me stress so much I feel like the gp isn't at all interested in seeing me. My question is can sinus and congestion cause tinnitus, ive had this 4 weeks now, I do have episodes where it disappears for several hours then it comes back with vengeance, I am worried stressed and cant sleep.
Yes, sinuses and congestion can cause tinnitus. Once your sinuses are back to normal, the T should slowly fade. Try not to stress too much, that will only make it linger longer.
we are all in this together, find something you love doing and please dont ever give up.
Keneaux thinking about it at times but I can’t

What worries me is that my tinnitus is due to a health issues. I’m getting an MRI I wonder if the cause matters?
