In 1979 my older sister smoothly got me into the Norhpoint theater in San Francisco to see Alien, the very first movie in what would become the legendary sci fi franchise that keeps on giving. Promotheus is an awesome movie. I may even watch it a fourth time.
So I was almost 13 and had been reading Stephen King books for a few years and was very eager to see that movie, lemme tell 'ya. On the basis of zero information other than the title, but I loved cinema and seeing an R rated movie was gonna be a major coup.
That was a banner day. We had so much fun I inhaled popcorn. From stomach bursts to milk based cybernetic organisms and the worst pop top easter eggs ever, Alien is pleasantly burned into cranium.
By the end....especially the end scenes...I was in love with Ripley. Or crushing hard at a minimum. That movie is still stellar.
And Ms. Weaver is just delightful. What a gift her and her family have been to the arts. Fascinating to learn about her father.
This interview with her is the best I've seen over the years. She is most certainly American royalty. And these 3 didnt muck it up! Well actually another deft 3 on 1 interview that has umpteen zillion things that can go wrong, but these guys just make it look easy. Its gotta be the emotional EQ on these men. Makes me proud to be a North American. I even wish I was a lumberjack now. A lumberjack ready for world diplomacy like these guys.
Also. This damn podcast has made me very much smarter about a lot of people and things. Plus stuff. I heard the McConaughey interview made Robert Bly get all misty eyed. There was deep daddy sharin' and bondin' going on. Social norm checking and processin' kinda stuff. I started to want the talking stick myself by crackey.

I love Sigourney!! I wish you would have asked why Ray Liotta said she was the worst kisser he ever had. I'm only asking because everyone knows kissing in movies are kinda "fake" right? So how does he know? I'm pretty sure he was referring to the movie Heartbreakers they were both in. I would have loves to hear her opinion/or lack of opinion she had about that comment!!

I love the podcast but I’m really curious what you think of your friends (especially the two that have been on the podcast) who smartlessly promoted investments that were horrible and have caused people (granted they’re idiots) to lose a lot of money

So, are your horses as high as the people you have on your podcast sometimes or are you comfortable with not wagging your finger at the average folk seeing that some people will wag it with bad or ignorant intentions such as Gwyneth and the feminism of NFT’s
just watched "the good house" simple, entertaining and so many to learn. reminiscing the movie "life as a house" starring also kevin kline but diff plot + twist i mix-up susan sarandon & sigourney just like jeff bridges & kurt russell & patrick swayze
