I’m what I call a “zillennial” and I grew up on VHS tapes! DVDs had already gotten pretty popular, but my family was behind to the technological trends. I’m kind of happy about it, since I had the experience of having a CRT TV, VCR, and VHS tapes. Also helps that my brother is a millennial, so I got a lot of hand-me-downs. 😅🤘🏻🖤
Physical media is so important to have (too many reasons to list). Happy to see you rock a VHS! I have a huge ( closet full ) of physical media full of mostly blu rays ( mostly horror, of course). Just added Event Horizon Steelbook 4K blu-ray to my collection. Although I already had a collector's copy from Scream Factory 🎃'Be kind rewind' I had to explain that to my younger friends ha! Love, love, love, what you did with the blanket! Thanks for sharing!
I love this resurgence I’m seeing in people collecting physical media!!! I kick myself all the time for throwing away my VHS tapes .I’m happy they’re collectible again. I have 4 VHS left of what I had. Something told me to save those! The documentary The Last Blockbuster really got me feeling so nostalgic for video stores. I would love to see you create a half Sally half Jack blanket 💀! Thank you so much for this video. I hope it has inspired younger people to appreciate VHS/dvd’s!!
The nostalgia of going to Blockbuster on Friday night to rent a stack of movies for the weekend. So good! Has a tiny piece of that feel in my yarn dungeon now🎃
I would suggest adding a spooky tree or two. Some gravestones. A big full moon. And some bats! I can’t wait to see how it turns out! I love the candy corn buttons on the pillow. Seriously so cute. 🖤🦇🎃🕸️
I grew up with vhs and dvds especially since I didn’t have cable growing up and with the way streaming services can get rid of media in an instant I think physical media is super important!! I also own a Nightmare before Christmas vhs but was always scared to play it because I was terrified of the Vincent short that would play after (honestly I still am)
I agree, there’s nothing tangible physical media, i still have a cd collection as well. But streaming options are awesome as well, it’s cool we can have the best of both worlds. 🙂 Love the idea of fixing up thrift funds 👏🏻🖤
I love these projects. So creative and a great way to breathe new life into these blankets. I think some spooky clouds would be cute for the haunted house blanket
I love how you have the physical vhs version of nightmare before Christmas and goosebumps that’s classic just to have it is luxury keep Up the great content as always altknots 🖤🖤
We still have our clam shell vhs tapes from Disney movies like Aladdin (animated) and Beauty and the Beast from the 90's. You could probably pick up a vhs rewinder at a thrift store or eBay so you can keep your VHS player in prime condition
Big relate!! I just started crocheting on new years eve 2023 and I've been a fiend ever since. Can't watch anything without some type of crochet project 💜 Thank you for all you do! I love seeing and having such spooky crochet inspiration 💜🦇💜
Good job saving things from the landfill/incinerator. I never jumped on board the whole gets rid of all your physical media I still CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, they cost a lot of money and some were hard to find this way I own them and not pay multiple streaming services. I'm thinking maybe some scary/branchy trees and bats to the castle blanket.
So many cool movies are at risk of becoming lost media because streaming services deem them too niche to be profitable, so collecting physical media is really important
I have a huge physical media collection of dvd’s and blue rays. I’m glad I didn’t get rid of any of them because some movies are starting to become obscure and hard to find or super pricey for the physical media copy. I’m glad I bought near dark years ago at Walmart when I saw it because that one is hard to find.
That's fantastic you kept them all. It's such an interesting form of art to own a piece of. And sometimes they change up the cover art over the years too so it's fun to have the original
I love my physical media library. Have fun building yours back up. Suggestions…..don’t put your dvd player directly on top of the vhs player. They heat up and need to ‘breathe’. I’d hate to see something happen to your awesome finds.
Aaaah you make me sooo excited to start my sally blanket again. But im purpusly saving it for later this year cause serena valentino comes out with a new sally book. And I still need to read the pumpkin queen so I kinda wanted to combine those and have 1 or 2 weeks completly nightmare before christmas themed. But its itching now too really finish my sally blanket 😅😂 what do you do to me❤😂
If you can wait (which would be crazy hard for me to do) those 2 weeks will be absolute spooky bliss🎃 the Pumpkin Queen is a total reread for me every Halloween. So good!
@@AltKnots yeah im not sure if I can either. I an now thinking I an finish it now with the pumpkin queen And then buy the nightmare before christmas knitting book And make the sally sock ir djawl with the new book in december 🤣
"There's no way I'm gonna watch a movie without crocheting" Gurl, same! YayDHD :p

Omg yesss I love that red riding movie ❤
You should definitely add some bats and a witch flying by! 🦇💜

Definitely felt super lucky to find both of them🎃🎃🎃
@@AltKnots very hard find having it on vhs over dvd definitely worth having it in your collection

Love the thrifted items...great vid!!
Omg
Lost Voyage is soooooo bad. I love it so much! And Judd Nelson is in it!!! 😍💚
This was the review I needed😂 Totally watching it this weekend now
@@AltKnots cannot wait to hear what you think of it. 🥰💚

How else will I get my entire pile of crochet done if not binge watching a pile of movies 😅
Very cool and creative 🎃

I love that pillow
Thank you🎃
ADD BATS TO THE GRANNY BLANKET! 🦇 🦇🦇
I still have many vhs tapes. Some even still have the rental store stickers on them😊
That’s fantastic! I love when I find a blockbuster dvd in case 🦇

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll totally look into a better set up now
someone made a post about how they felt their ends into blankets and i really want to try that
That’s such a great idea! Absolutely have to try that too
So sad the goosebumps one did not work. Why not use the case as a hook case for the yarn dungeon?
What a fantastic idea! Thanks for the suggestion🦇
We are spoiled 🎃 🎉
In Tacoma Wa there’s a thrift shop where they had like 100 Disney cartoon VHS tapes and I wish I had a VHS player 😭
That’s wild! I’ve only ever found a few at a time
@@AltKnots it’s called city thrift store. Literally about 200 VHS tapes even a lot of non Disney ones!
@@AltKnots if you search it up on Google on the pictures it’s like the 13th you can see how many they have!
