Read Unquiet Mind 3 times.would do almost anything to meet you! Thinking of getting ECT soon bec depression is so out of control that it is drowning both me and my family. You are my hero. I only wish I had half your strength and wisdom. I will continue to watch you speak and read your books to ward off my suicide spells. Thank you!

I cried hard while reading An Unquiet Mind because I understood myself. Now I am more accepting and adapting to my illness. Thank you

I want to thank you for helping me understand in a better way the most influential person I have known, my father. You are a gift to all of us who have witnessed incredible suffering beyond our understanding.

Kay Redfield Jamison, you really are such a rare, thoughtful + wonderful gift to the world. The last bit about the little boy & the bugs bunny goodluck chain... profoundly moving.

Thank you so very much. Your presentation was so informative and useful to understand issues of bipolar disorder. Bless you!

She's written some great books. "Touched with Fire: Manic-Depressive Illness and the Artistic Temperament" is really good. Also the giant tome she coauthored with Frederick K Goodwin, "Manic-Depressive Illness: Bipolar Disorders and Recurrent Depression" is for good reason considered the classic textbook on the subject.

I lectured in C++ under full blown mania. No one has done this. None of the 20 students in the class noticed. I then stopped the full blown mania by looking at a mirror and saying to myself "calm down, calm down" Again no has stopped a full blown mania in this way. I am the only one. I am a extremely special man.

Got a Jesus complex much. Must have been manic when writing this comment. Best luck to you, honesty with self is the first step. Or perhaps, an attempt at humor.

will Kay Redfield Jamison reveal the status of her kidneys and other possibly affected organs? I ask because she is the spokeswoman for lithium, and i don't have her money to pay for the medical complications if i do what she does

    • @Dreamer-op2uh

Lithium is no longer used. There are more advanced medicines. It is a very old medicine 60 years ago!!
