I know there are a lot of amazing figures coming out now but figures like this make me feel like theres a lot of passion missing now. Old mcfarlane, toybiz and sota even tho they had their issues it felt like they were trying to make a really cool product. This one and vash really look amazing for 23 years ago.
It was very much a time capsule. Gifts that's I've titled around for years that finally got to breathe, and I got the put my hands on for the first time. Thay Vash is still an amazing piece one I never ended up getting and regret a bit to this day. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
They are nice figures very statuesque due to old school McFarlane standards lol but I would try and find them at a local comic shop, convention or mercari or something like that. don't over pay for them.
@@zorathehedgehog6341 no need to apologize, I just was making sure I understood is all. I think you could make it work with legends or lightning collection, also depends on the figure too.
Question how much does the rare Kaneda medicom Wonderfest figure go for the one that there are only 300 of them out there? Last time I checked it was going for $1,500. Was just wondering since I might want to pull the trigger on one.
Wow, great review, this one quite good. But not as good as Bandai's or Ace Toyz's made one. And also, I have no idea why they change the body stickers, like Shoei, Arai, Citizen, Canon. If this one is official license product, They should be put 100% same as the one showed in Akira Anime, including the whole body stickers, not change it to negative sticker words like immigrant, corrupt.
@@UnboxingArt Shopping now for the McFarlane AKIRA set!! I could kill kick myself now. Back then I had the original AKIRA American version comic books. Gave them to my cousin without thinking about the collecting value of it all. BEST anime ever - AKIRA. My ALL time faves are AKIRA, Ghost in the Shell, and Ninja Scroll. Nothing can beat those. Not sure if you reviewed it yet, but that Ghost in the Shell “Major Kusanagi,” also by the Toddfather is dirt cheap on eBay @$30. And actually Fat Kung Fu’s birth name is Art as well…Amazing!! I felt the cringe when you opened the box for those mint in box collectors. I’m actually an opener. I do have my Steven Seagal 6” and 12” still in the box. Like you I lugged them around for half my life..the card packaging is still crisp. I do toy photography, so ALL my toys are opened. @toyfutography on iG. Been wanting this Kaneda and bike set for ALL my LIFE. Probably will finally be getting it soon. There’s a light up Japanese bike for half a grand. I think it’s 1/6 scale. And of course Sideshow has the 1/6 Kaneda on sale for $195 from $300 free shipping..Not bad. Thanks for striking up the fandom for AKIRA. The review was awesome. Got AKIRA on Blu-RAY and so on a good day, the home theater will be rockin!! AKIRA is timeless, and to think, it came out in 1988. 🎬
Lol I reviewed the 1/6 bike I still need to review Kaneda but I'm packing my stuff up to sell my house and move so his review will be at a later date. Akira is definitely one of my top animes and Mangas followed by Berserk. Love me some ghost in the shell and ninja scroll. I've been toting around enough carded figs so the McFarlane Akira figs needed to breathe.
@@endlessdiscoooo I got these as gifts back when they dropped many any years ago. I think the person grabbed them from K.B. Toys and paid less than $20 for both.
OMG YOU RUINED THE VALUE OF THOSE…now you won’t be able to cash in for the tens of dollars that they are worth in today’s market 🤣😂🤣. About time you let em breath lol. McFarlane figs from the 90’s might not be packed with articulation, but as you stated they spared nothing when it came to sculpt and paint. Hope you have a great 4th!

I prefer the jacket without the silly saying. Much more iconic and bold looking.
I’m thinking of getting these two figures, but the prices are crazy

@@UnboxingArt nice tip I’ll be on the lookout next time I go to some conventions

MacFarlane spared no expense

It was probably licensing fees. So Todd didn't wanna pay and made his own lol. My favorite piece Is my 1/6 scale Medicom Kaneda Bike.
@@UnboxingArt yeah probably. From the details and quality worse compared to one you mentioned.
Very nice. I'm about to add the Soul of Popinica PX 03 model to my Akira collection, which I've only recently discovered...
The PX 03 looks awesome I got the big Soul of Popynica bike not too long ago. Waiting on Kaneda to arrive
@@UnboxingArt Very nice. I'm saving up for it...

How much you got for those toys?
I don't understand what you're asking.
