With the exact same thoughts, I just bought a 390 ADV X. Ticks most of my boxes for around 5-7 years.
I would like to add a point here. If one stays in the sub 500 CC category, I think, with a reasonably growing career, motorcycles will always get more affordable.
Today's purchase may be a year's salary, but 6 years down the line, a much much better motorcycle in the same segment with be just 3 month's salary.
That is the same mindset I had when I sold my BS3 himalayan and got 390 ADV X. 5-6 years down the line, I know for a fact that there will be an upgraded 390 ADV, hero's bigger Xpulse and may be few other's. So, there will never be a perfect motorcyle, & its totally acceptable.

But it's something that you have to live with, you have to maintain and most importantly you have to love or atleast understand.

I started with a hand me down Kinetic Honda DX too. In 2005, I wanted a Pulsar 180 and then a Karizma and dad squashed those dreams with an Activa! After that, I never looked back at a motorcycle. I have discovered how practical scooters can be and lived with one for 11 years! I made peace with it and loved the whole journey! It’s been great but now I feel like I’ve reached the time when I must scratch the motorcycling itch. It’s a golden era for Indian motorcycling and there’s plenty of choices. I think that’s why so many of us are indecisive. But you are right Shumi, choose one so you can start the damn journey!

I would like to add my experience here. I was in college and thinking I had to buy a 350 Classic. Because everyone told me being a 6 feet guy it suits me well. Parents said no, I sought out to buy second-hand 150 pulsar, which I was riding to the office(it was my friend's bike). I kept looking for a good bike, and one terrible day I crashed his bike. The very next day I thought to myself, I have to buy a new bike. I don't like second-hand bikes.
I went to the showroom after a month. Bought NS200 because of my friend's suggestion. I had ridden NS160, so I said fuck it let's go. Went ahead and bought it. That was 3 years ago. It is a good bike, under all those "BAJAJ" things. I have realized now that I don't like 350 Classic anymore. I love sports bikes. I'm only going to go for sports until my back says no more.

I've used a classic 350 for the past 5 years in Hyderabad and sold it recently to upgrade or to get the refined Classic 350 again.
I mostly use it in the city, occasionally on the highways to my hometown which is 200km away from Hyderabad.
Now as the Speed 400 came out of syllabus...I'm lil' confused.
As I've mentioned above...that's my ride usage....I generally cruise at 70-80kmph, never did a 90kmph on my classic atleast. Felt the classic was lil' heavy for me in while handling in the parkings...luckily never a single puncture in it's entire term :P
So What do you suggest of these two bikes for users like me? Classic 350 or Speed 400?
    Thanks in Advance.

At present I can repaint it, repair it but with time the repair would start to be not easy and soon all of the bike parts including engine, chasis, fuel tank all will be changed and at last bike won't be having any part that it got while manufacturing from the company. So what is this attachment with bike when all the parts will have been changed ......Hope you understood what I am saying and you can explain it broadly.

Tbh, its a really good machine for that and iv had my fair share of fun on the twisties. On that note, whn i made my purchase decision 2 years ago i completely ignored the short stroked machines, espclly the RE Himalayan, bcz the short stroke motors donot have that same 20 odd bhp at the higher spectrum of the rpm band and for some reason i had considered it to be inferior. But now my friend has it, and as i ride it more i realise how much my heart connects with the Long stroke motor . Whch over a period of 2 years riding the short stroke motor and then getting to experience a long stroke motor, i realised it's not the way u judge a motorcycle. Rtr was just an example I used to tell the same bcz i just have my experience with that machine.

I’m trying to think of what would be a perfect motorcycle.
    - K5/K8 GSXr1000 with modern tyres, better brakes & suspension (I own one)
    - Hayabusa/ZX14r with 50kg less weight (I’ve only managed to shed 15kg)
    - Yamaha R9 if it has good brakes & suspension
    - Aprilia Tuono with a reliable engine, maybe from the ZX12r

I'm hard pressed between 3 bikes for a 5yr commitment - Interceptor 650, MT 03, Duke 390 (2024) - will be my all rounder for both city and touring. Have ridden Yamahas in the past and recently an RE man upgrading from Thunderbird 500x. Any inputs from you'll would really help.
How much of a deal breaker is the Interceptor 650s footpeg problem?

I am your biggest fan but slightly have a different opinion to this.
I am 32 and bought my 2nd bike in 2017. Was going for apache-rtr200 but test drove fz25 and that has been the “perfect” decision of my life. But now it is little old and I want to move on to something stronger or big cc machine. (~300 or 400cc).
I had test drove bmw 310gs, Himalayan, Ktm390 , ninja300, ninja650, speed400 but none of them gave me the same thrill or feeling which I am looking for. Hence waiting for mt-03 (in the hopes I will get my next “perfect” bike).

Q: Does the perfect bike exist?
A: Yes. Its Ninja 1000sx. It's a superbike that doesn't kills your back, it comfortable to sit. Its faired so you don't get the wind blast. Its torque-y at low range and has a decent top end. It has nice electronics to keep rider side up. Large enough fuel tank to go 300+ Kms. An engine which more than a decade of reliability. A screen, a quick-shifter, riding modes. You can put on heated grips. Remap it and it can give 10R run for its money. Its relatively cheaper than most 1000cc bikes.
So yes, perfect bike does exist.

    And I don't like 390 adventure.
It's hard to find something as per requirement. Maybe I'm left with v-storm SX 😅

    Perfect words motorcycle wise man!
I am in a crossroads at the moment, undecided which should be my next bike. I am Brazilian, 45yo 1.83m 90kg, use the bike as a daily ride to and from work in a big caotic city. At the moment i have a sym scooter (cruisym 150) which does the job perfeclty. However, the cvt transmission with the lack of the tork and the small travel suspension are putting me off. The more i ride, the more i miss my 1st bike, a ducati 695. Loved the soind of the engine, how it revved, how nimble and light it was. The ease to change direction, how easy it was to ride at low speeds, go around traffic, man i loved it. It was a perfect bike for that moment. I would not have it again.
I am looking for a bike with more refinement, with some fun factor for my everyday commute. Not planning on riding on a highways. Also i do not want to have a bike that is on thieves radars.
Not looking for a high cc bike (tested the bmw f900r and it scared me). Rode the bmw310r, liked the manageble power but calls too much attention (it has enough power for me).
On a logical perspective, can you pls make some suggestions of what bikes i should look into?
Thank you for your content and glad i found this channel. Ride safe!

The same perceptions i had and i have now too… you totally said right.. i was always looking for perfect motorcycles but I didn’t get one. I was always lean towards fairing bikes but that made me wrong always. Why i was wrong i know now. Because i always chosen fairing bikes and fairing bikes are not practical always. I always wanted comfort now i am lean towards touring motorcycles and I started liking it and somehow touring Adventure motorcycles are practical in so many ways. Now Kawasaki versesy 650 has become my favourite because it has everything I wanted. look forward to buying it and i will. Now i have 2023 bajaj dominar 400.

If there were no imperfections - no company could move forward to keep refining/upgrade themselves and their products - and we as consumers would not have the wide range of experiences that we can have! On my 7th 2 wheeler now in 60000 km in 4 years of riding, no 2 experiences have been the same. If the Activa was a great supermarket trip scooter, the Ray was a great zippy city scooter. The knockout at the end would make Tyson blush 😅

I keep getting better, more powerful, comfortable and more refined motorcycles and I think my latest one is so much better than the last one… until I hear a once familiar ringdingdingding and smell the burnt mixture of 2T and Petrol and Nostalgia kicks in.
I crane my neck wistfully to catch a glimpse of two silencers, white smoke bellowing from them. And briefly, I’m 18 once again.
In my 50 years and a dozen odd bikes, I haven’t quite found a motorcycle to replace the joy of that one.

It's human nature to always want something more, something better or something different. When I was in college I never thought I would get a motorcycle. I hated the idea of 2 wheeled death machines. 7 years later, I have motorcycles and 2 bicycles. What started as a weight loss and grocery run excuse to get a bicycle, quickly turned to passion and desire to ride motorcycles. I even ditch the car during heavy rains sometimes, just to feel the raw elements and the challenge.
Life is shit sometimes but a Sunday ride in lonely mountain roads takes a week worth of stress away.
It's on those Sunday rides sometimes I realize that I need a different kind of road and a different kind of motorcycle sometimes.
I used to be a car guy, always wanted a V8 American Muscle car and an European Sports car but lately I have no desire to drive. Instead I have a long list of motorcycles that I want to ride and some I'd like to own.
Dunno how did I change so much just in a few years.
But, whenever I watch a Motorinc video, somehow I end up writing essays in comments.

I started riding on a tiny LML Trendy. That peppy little snail was the best scooter to me in the world. This was back in 2003. Then in 2009 I picked up the Bajaj Legend, a beaslty scooter which taught me to respect it or get tossed in a ditch. Over the years I moved through the Honda Aviator, and eventually to the manic KTM RC390 and now I ride the RE Super Meteor 650. It's been a roller coaster ride and I still feel in a few years I'll try something new. It's always the journey and never the destination that's important.
Love the content guys! Keep it up. You have a patron for life. 😊❤

Perfectly put but just adding one point, the Perfect bike/car/anything Is one that doesn't put a dent on your bank account. I see most ppl go all in and later regreat it.
Buying depreciating assets in Loan is not the right thing to do I know it may not be a popular opinion but I think ppl should really understand the power of compounding. It's not necessary to buy the latest and the greatest sometimes it's fun to trash around a 200cc bike and with the increasing traffic conditions I think ppl should buy bikes that are small and quick.
