- Hello, learners!
In this lesson, we learn what a PAST PARTICIPLE PHRASE is and how to use it in a sentence correctly.
What is a Past participle phrase?
Definition: A phrase that starts with a past participle and modifies a noun in a sentence is called a past participle phrase. It starts with a past participle (V3) and is followed by its object and/or a modifier.
Examples:
The man taken to the hospital is my father.
taken - past participle
to the hospital - modifier
'Taken to the hospital' is the past participle phrase that's identifying the noun 'man' and giving essential information about it. It's helping us understand which man the speaker is referring to.

Sir, I'm waiting for perfect participle phrase 😊
Coming next, Poonam! 🕺
Prsent or past participle whatever its, just got me dwindled on the fact whether it's succedded an adverb phrase or preposition, just as we seen those phrases compacted within a participle one.... Like this ex. "we'v come here to see the boy injured in the attack"here (in the attack) looks like a prepositional phrase but that's obviously not the case but I don't know why.........
It can be an object or a modifier in any form (regular adverb, preposition phrase).
We have come here to see the injured boy in the attack. What's the difference plz explain
Sir Please Clear my doubt ......is past participle phrase followed by object
Go through the video again and note its placement.
